Romantic Hotels in Shanghai

I booked this hotel for a family trip to Disneyland, and overall, the environment and cleanliness were great. There's a 24-hour coffee machine in the lobby. The breakfast was rich with a Chinese and western buffet, and late-night snacks are provided as well. The staff were very welcoming, and the hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from Disneyland. It offers great value for money. The service was excellent. The passion fruit juice at the hotel was delicious, and we even took some with us when we left. Since we didn't have time for breakfast, they even had it delivered to our room. We were also upgraded to a better room type in the evening. It's a wonderful hotel with very comfortable bedding, and I will definitely choose to stay here again next time. I do have two small suggestions for improvement: First, there are no amenities for babies, such as baby bathtubs, cribs, or bed guards, which is inconvenient for travelers with infants. Second, breakfast ends a little too early at 9:30 AM. Since we got back from Disneyland quite late, it was hard to wake up early enough for breakfast the next day. I hope these can be improved.

Traveling with kids during the National Day holiday, we were very satisfied with our stay: 1. We checked in on the evening of October 1st, and the front desk staff was incredibly warm and helpful. They answered all our questions, even late at night, without any hint of impatience. This left a great first impression! 2. The room was neat and clean. Although it was right on a main road, the soundproofing was excellent, and we didn't hear any noise at all. The water and drinks were complimentary. 3. Breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of Chinese, Western, and local specialties, all tasting delicious. Friendly reminder: Be sure to talk to the front desk about parking beforehand. We were tricked into paying 30 yuan for surface parking! (Though this had nothing to do with the hotel itself) Quite annoying!

I've had the Le Méridien Sheshan on my radar for a while, and this National Day holiday I finally got to experience this classic, top-notch family-friendly hotel. Even though the hotel is quite old, its location is exceptional, nestled at the foot of Sheshan mountain. Every room has a balcony with great views and fresh air; sitting out there is simply refreshing. The room interiors are also very well maintained. Outside the room, there's everything you could need, no need to go to any paid parks. You can just relax at the hotel; the kids will never get bored, and adults can enjoy a truly relaxing vacation. During the National Day holiday, there were quite a few weddings being held, and parking was free. Plus, it's very convenient for driving to all the major attractions in Songjiang. A special shout-out to Bob for the excellent service – proactive, smooth communication, and thoughtful. The kids have already said they want to bring their grandparents back for another stay next time.

From the moment I stepped into the room, I was impressed by the attention to detail. The bedding had a high thread count, feeling luxurious yet breathable. The sofa by the window was perfectly angled to offer a fantastic view of the city skyline, and even the lighting was gently adjusted to be soft and non-glaring. The biggest pleasant surprise was being offered a complimentary late check-out until 2 PM. This meant I could leisurely enjoy breakfast and then relax in the room for a bit longer without rushing to pack up. This unhurried, relaxed feeling, free from any pressure, truly is the most luxurious experience when traveling.

A month before the National Day holiday, I started planning our family trip with our 2.5-year-old. He's not really suited for crowded tourist spots, and as low-energy parents, we're not up for intense 'special forces' style parenting either. So, I opted for a 'staycation,' which is super popular on Xiaohongshu (xhs). I'd bookmarked several highly-rated family-friendly hotels, and Pudong Kerry stood out as the most satisfying from my research. It offered family rooms, a kids' playground, and direct access to a mall – incredibly convenient! I quickly booked a stay on Ctrip, full of anticipation. We checked in on the evening of the 3rd. The front desk lady was very polite and answered all my questions in detail. When I asked if an additional adult could accompany my child into the playground (the package included entry for one adult and one child, but I was worried I wouldn't have enough energy and we'd need to take turns looking after him 🤣), she agreed without hesitation. I'm really grateful for that, and it proved to be a lifesaver in the playground – we truly couldn't keep up with our child! He had an amazing time, and we parents were exhausted. Upon entering the room, we immediately saw the special tent, a highlight of the family suite. Forget kids, even I, a 30+ adult, wanted to crawl in and hang out for a bit! For the two days we stayed, this little tent became his 'secret base.' When we were relaxing in the hotel, he'd be in there watching Qiaohu (Chuckle) or playing with his toys. The hotel also gifted him a little kangaroo plushie. Wow, it completely won him over and became his 'best buddy.' Every night before bed, he'd ask, 'Where's my best buddy?' Hahaha, the innocence of a child really touches your heart every single moment. The kangaroo T-shirt was a bit big, but that's fine; he can wear it when he's older and we can come back to the Kerry Hotel again. During check-in, the bed rail and children's toiletries were all prepared, which was very thoughtful. The first round of the mini-bar was free, and they even provided cookies, which tasted pretty good. The only suggestion I have is that the bed rail felt a bit unstable. At the head of the bed, it was fine because of the cabinet propping it up, but the foot of the bed felt loose; if you nudged it slightly, it felt like it would fall. Later, I was worried he might roll off in the middle of the night if the rail gave way, so I stuffed pillows along the side of the rail, which solved the problem. Hotel breakfast is on the 1st floor. Booking a family room includes two breakfasts. The breakfast spread was extensive, with Chinese and Western options, noodles, wontons, bread, and pastries – everything you could want, and it all tasted good. Next to the kids' playground was a gym, which looked very good with plenty of equipment, but I didn't get to experience it as I was with my child. This trip was very satisfying, and I look forward to returning to the Kerry Hotel to unlock new experiences.

Location: The hotel boasts an exceptional location, situated in the Jin Mao Tower, one of the 'Lujiazui Trio,' right next to the Shanghai Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center. The hotel's design seamlessly blends Eastern aesthetics with Western architectural beauty, exuding both old-money charm and luxurious style. All hotel staff are also bilingual in Chinese and English. Experience: Our entire stay was fantastic. Since it was my birthday, Mia from Guest Services specially arranged a room upgrade for us. From the room, we could see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Bund, and even the Magnolia Plaza across the river in North Bund. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the light show from here during the National Day holiday. Mia and her colleagues also prepared a Tiramisu birthday cake and flowers for me, for which I am truly grateful. Pool and Spa facilities: The indoor swimming pool's water quality was exceptionally clear, easily ranking among the top three of all the hotels I've visited. The sauna and cold plunge bath I experienced afterward were also excellent. The only area for improvement is that there was no discount for in-house guests at the hotel's buffet lunch. Even so, we will still choose to stay at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai on our next visit to Shanghai. I stayed in a detached house with a large lawn and a natural river outside, perfect for boating and diving, bringing back childhood memories. The entire area boasts fresh and pleasant air, and enjoying tea or a drink on the patio or terrace offers a unique charm. The room was clean and tidy, with complete and comfortable facilities. The mattress firmness was just right, providing much-needed relief for my old aching back. Many other thoughtful details stood out, such as the café, auditorium, unique landscaped green spaces, flower beds, and a large fruit and vegetable base. These diverse features make it suitable for various events like study tours, weddings, corporate team celebrations, family activities, and pet events. It's truly a rare and unparalleled choice within Shanghai, I highly recommend it!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, very close to The Bund and White Magnolia Plaza. The room had large floor-to-ceiling windows, was clean and spacious, and the facilities were well-maintained. The front desk staff and hotel butler provided meticulous and thoughtful service. The indoor circular pool was huge; soaking in the pool and admiring the bustling night view of Lujiazui outside the window completely washed away travel fatigue. The hotel has an observation deck on the top floor, and the complimentary travel photography was excellent. From the second-floor corridor of the hotel, you can walk along the river to The Bund, enjoying the gentle breeze and the vibrant cityscape of Shanghai. I was very satisfied with this trip!👍

During the May Day holiday, I specifically brought my child to visit Shanghai Wild Animal Park. After comparing many hotels in advance, I'm so glad I chose Guyiju Hotel! Traveling with kids, the last thing you want is a tiring and complicated experience. This hotel is perfect for family trips, from its location, environment, and hygiene to its service. The overall experience was absolutely fantastic, so I must give it a well-deserved five-star rating! The location is truly unbeatable. It's incredibly close to Shanghai Wild Animal Park, just a 10-15 minute drive away. This means no early mornings and long commutes, and my child didn't get restless during the car ride. The hotel even offers a thoughtful complimentary shuttle service, dropping guests off at the zoo promptly at 9:00 AM and picking them up at 5:00 PM. This saved us the hassle of finding parking ourselves and made traveling with a child so much easier and more convenient. The surrounding area is also very well-equipped. Within walking distance, there are supermarkets, snack shops, convenience stores, and various restaurants. You can easily buy snacks, milk, and baby food that your child loves at any time. All daily essentials are taken care of in one go, meaning you don't need to carry a huge bag of supplies when you go out with your child. It's also very close to the subway, making it convenient to explore the city center later on. The hotel's overall environment is quiet and elegant, with simple yet cozy decor. The lobby is clean, bright, and well-ventilated, without any noisy or bustling atmosphere, which is ideal for children to rest and play. The public areas are meticulously cleaned, spotless, and there are even resting chairs, so kids can sit down and take a break when they get tired. The whole atmosphere feels comfortable and reassuring. The room's cleanliness was exceptionally good. Every corner of the room, under the bed, and the vanity area were spotless, free of any strange odors or dust. The bed was very comfortable, with a mattress that was just the right balance of soft and firm, so my child, after a day of playing, could lie down and sleep soundly. The bathroom had a wet and dry separation, and the floor was treated with anti-slip material, so I didn't have to worry about my child slipping and falling. The attention to detail extends to the room facilities, which are also very child-friendly. The smart lighting and automatic curtains are easy to operate, so you don't have to walk back and forth to switch things on and off, making it more convenient to care for your child. The toiletries are mild and non-irritating, which gave me peace of mind using them for my child. The Wi-Fi speed was also very fast, so my child could watch cartoons occasionally and adults could use their phones without any lag. What I want to praise the most is the hotel's service. The front desk staff were incredibly gentle and patient. Check-in was quick, and they proactively and thoughtfully recommended a touring route for the zoo, suitable activities for children, and reminded us of important tips for traveling with kids. They even sent a fruit platter to our room. Any request we had, the front desk responded promptly. When my child temporarily needed hot water or a little help, the staff enthusiastically assisted, showing genuine warmth and kindness that made us feel very welcome. The breakfast selection was also very rich, including light porridges, steamed buns, fried rice, multigrain side dishes, etc. The taste was light and not greasy, perfect for a child's stomach, easy to digest, and appealing to picky eaters. After a hearty breakfast, we were full of energy to explore the zoo. The hotel also has vending machines with drinks, snacks, and instant noodles, so even if you're too lazy to go out at night, you can easily get supplies. It's truly convenient when traveling with kids. When traveling with children, cleanliness, safety, convenience, and ease are paramount, and Guyiju Hotel meets all these criteria. It offers excellent value for money, a quiet environment, impeccable hygiene, and warm service. Its proximity to the zoo and the shuttle service make it a true hidden gem for family trips. This May Day trip to Shanghai Wild Animal Park was so easy and enjoyable because we chose Guyiju Hotel. My child had a great time, and the adults weren't exhausted. I sincerely recommend this hotel to all parents bringing their children to Shanghai Wild Animal Park or Disneyland. Next time we visit Shanghai with our child, I will definitely choose to stay at Guyiju Hotel again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This hotel offers incredible value for money! I was surprised to find a pool and hot springs, and the room was quite spacious. While the immediate area isn't super convenient, ordering food delivery was easy, and the robot delivery was quick. The environment is absolutely lovely – surrounded by lush greenery, and the entire complex is very quiet. It was a fantastic staycation. My only minor complaint is that the breakfast could be better, and you have to pay upfront if you want to add it, you can't charge it to your room, which isn't very convenient. Finally, a big thank you to the hotel for the room upgrade, which really helped with accommodating my older child.
