11363659****A perfect score for a family-friendly getaway! Pudong Kerry Hotel truly is a lifesaver for moms.
As parents with a one-year-old and a three-year-old, our top priorities when choosing a hotel are how family-friendly and convenient it is. Our recent stay at the Shanghai Pudong Kerry Hotel completely exceeded our expectations. It was an ideal choice for a ”hands-off” parenting experience, and I absolutely have to write a detailed review to share with all the moms out there!
First, let's praise the Adventure Zone, which absolutely captivated our kids. Located on the 4th floor of the hotel, it opens promptly at 10 AM and closes at 7 PM – a perfectly reasonable schedule. The facilities are incredibly well-maintained, very clean, and meticulously safe. There are gentle slides and interactive areas suitable for younger toddlers, as well as climbing structures that allow older kids to really burn off some energy. Our two kids played there all day long and never got bored. There's even a dedicated休息区 for parents, so you don't have to constantly chase after them. It was such a thoughtful touch to finally be able to relax a bit.
This time, we upgraded to the Executive Floor, and the experience at the Executive Lounge (Kerry Club) was outstanding! Meals are available all day. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, with both Chinese and Western options. Fresh fruit, freshly baked bread, hot congee and noodles, and even small snacks that the kids loved – it was nutritious and delicious. The afternoon tea desserts were absolutely divine – beautiful presentation and exquisite taste, sweet but not cloying. Even our picky eater couldn't resist them. The evening Happy Hour was an even bigger surprise, with a full spread of hot and cold dishes, snacks, and beverages. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors authentic, easily serving as a complete dinner, which saved us the hassle of taking the kids out to find food.
I really need to highlight the service; we felt the staff's professionalism and thoughtfulness throughout our stay. During dinner, our three-year-old fell asleep after playing all day. A server noticed and quietly approached, asking if we'd like to pack some suitable food for the baby. They even thoughtfully prepared an insulated box and individually packed the sauces. These kinds of details are truly touching. Whether it was the staff in the Executive Lounge, the Adventure Zone, or the pool, everyone was incredibly gentle and patient. If a child started crying, they would calmly comfort them, never showing any impatience.
The hotel's swimming pool is definitely a huge plus! There's a dedicated children's splash pool that's only 0.5 meters deep, which was perfect for our one-year-old and eliminated any safety concerns. The pool is constantly heated to a comfortable temperature, so it wasn't cold even at night, and the water quality was excellent. The biggest surprise was that the pool stays open until 11 PM! This perfectly suited our kids' habit of staying up late when at a hotel. They would play in the Adventure Zone until 7 PM, have a delicious meal, digest for an hour, and then head to the pool. They'd splash around until past 10 PM, still wanting more. After getting cleaned up, they'd fall right asleep, allowing us parents to finally get some quiet rest. This schedule was tailor-made for us! What's even more reassuring is that lifeguards were always on duty, constantly monitoring the pool, so we never had to worry about safety while swimming with the kids.
The location convenience is also outstanding! The hotel is directly connected to the adjacent Kerry Parkside shopping mall, so you can shop and dine anytime without being exposed to the elements. The mall has many mother and baby stores and toy shops, so when the kids get tired, you can buy some snacks or new toys, fulfilling all needs in one go. There are also many interactive play facilities outside the mall, allowing the children to play a bit more after dinner. If you want to take the kids to experience nature, Century Park is just across the road, satisfying outdoor play needs. Transportation is also very convenient, with Hanamuki Road Station on Metro Line 7 within walking distance.
Beyond the Executive Lounge, the hotel's buffet restaurant is also worth mentioning. The dishes are abundant and fresh, with international flavors, and you can even find light, baby-friendly complementary foods. Especially the desserts – delicate texture, rich ingredients. From the small cakes at afternoon tea to the dessert bar at the buffet, every single one was a hit. Even as a dessert lover, I was impressed.
The room facilities are also very family-friendly. The space is generous, not feeling cramped even with a stroller. Housekeeping was thorough, and attention to detail was evident. The overall environment is quiet; we didn't hear much noise even in the corridor, which ensured the babies' rest wasn't disturbed.
This stay truly satisfied our entire family. Both children were beaming every day, and everything was smoothly arranged without much effort, truly achieving a ”hands-off” parenting experience. From the family facilities and dining services to the location, everything was impeccable. I've already recommended it to several friends planning trips with kids, and we will definitely choose this hotel again when we come to Shanghai!
