"The Wi-Fi was incredibly slow! **Location:** Just a few minutes' walk from Shanghai Railway Station and the subway, not far from the main road. There's a FamilyMart and some restaurants downstairs. **Facilities:** A proper hotel with an elevator, air conditioning, and self-service laundry. The shower had good hot water. The wooden furniture looked a bit dated but seemed durable and of good quality. It appears to have been renovated, and the renovation quality is decent. However, I have to complain about the Wi-Fi speed – it was excruciatingly slow! **Soundproofing:** Average; I could hear conversations from the next room. **Cleanliness:** Relatively clean. **Environment:** Both inside and out, it was neat and orderly. **Service:** They proactively offered a room upgrade (perhaps due to fewer guests during the off-season) and could store luggage for us. **Breakfast:** Although breakfast was included, they actually provided a 15 RMB voucher per person to use at a neighboring restaurant. You pay for what you choose, and anything over 15 RMB needs to be paid out of pocket, which felt a bit like a rip-off. However, if you plan carefully, it's manageable. The breakfast quality was relatively average, but it was available from 6:30 AM, which is convenient for early travelers."

"2nd time stay at this hotel and as always, it has clean & spacious room, just in the middle of Nanjing Lu Pedestrian Street so many shops, eatery & malls just outside the hotel. It has free washing machine & dryer to use. Easy to find many kinds of food around the hotel, mini supermarket just beside the hotel, friendly staffs and comfortable beds. Need to note that this hotel might has some few stairs to reach some rooms, so for elderly, make sure to inform them and request rooms to reach without stairs. Overall, a good and recommended hotel to stay in Shanghai."

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was spacious with thoughtful touches like complimentary wine and a cute plush toy. Breakfast was delicious with great variety. Overall, a very impressive and enjoyable stay!"

"After landing at Pudong International Airport last night around 10 PM, it was too late to go home, so we opted for a nearby hotel that offered airport shuttle service. We hurried to catch the 11 PM shuttle. In the morning, shuttles depart for the international airport every 50 minutes past the hour. The shuttle service was quite good. However, the hotel's facilities were really subpar. We were initially given a standard room, but the shower drain was clogged. The staff kindly upgraded us to a family room. Unfortunately, the sink in the family room's bathroom caused my right thumb to bleed quite a bit because the drain stopper was so stiff and wouldn't budge. The entire room felt quite stuffy, and the hotel itself seemed old and rundown. Even the new room we were given had drainage issues... Its convenient location is a plus, and for just one night, my expectations weren't high, so the price was acceptable. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but it was enough to fill up. A warm bowl of congee was a nice touch too."

He also asked if we had eaten breakfast and promptly arranged for us to go to the buffet. The breakfast spread was incredibly diverse. By the time we finished eating and came back, the front desk attendant had already completed our check-in. This is my first time traveling where I've been able to check in half a day early, and even get a complimentary breakfast before checking in – I was so touched! And for such a great price, with breakfast included, it's really incredible value for money, especially in a city like Shanghai."

GGuest UserOur group of 15 stayed at Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden for 3D2N, and we had a very pleasant experience overall. We arrived early in the morning, and the hotel kindly provided temporary rooms for us to rest until the official check-in time, which we truly appreciated after a long journey. The hotel facilities are very good. Although it is a large property, it is extremely well managed. What impressed us most was the staff — everyone was friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. Even though some staff members do not speak English fluently, they use translation devices, so communication was never an issue. They also assisted us in arranging airport pick-up cars with good vehicles, polite drivers, and reasonable prices. Breakfast was served buffet-style with a good variety of food and satisfactory quality. The hotel’s location is very convenient, within walking distance of Yu Garden, The Bund, Nanjing Road, and other attractions, making it easy to explore the city. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would highly recommend Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden to both group travelers and individual guests.

Room: Fantastic Beds were huge & comfortable - we had an upgrade to a larger room. The shower and shower toiletries were so refreshing. Towels were lovely soft & clean. Breakfast was the best I have had for a long time. Lived the rice, fried eggs, noodles , fruit vegetables. Even clams one morning. Great variety of drinks. The chief and staff were very happy & helpful. Extremely clean. I used the laundry room which also had a tumble dryer. This was useful due to travelling on to Beijing afterwards. The other family rooms have slides and are duplex. Sue the swimming pool is great in the summer. Excellent price , excellent choice for Families going to Disneyland and other local trips. Loved being able to go along the local street to see Shanghai local food, shops and life. Seems to be a family run business which is lovely to support. Location is great for the local shops , food, 7/11 supermarket for snacks & drinks Restaurants and food for locals which was delicious and a great price. Shuttle bus excellent. Taxi ( Didi) was £3 back from Disneyland . £11 to Shanghai Greenhouse Gardens ( evening ticket £5.40) this is an amazing trip not to be missed.

SShanghai based coupleAs a couple who has lived in Shanghai together for almost 10 years, with one of us also Shanghainese, we have been to a lot of the best places in Shanghai, and some of the more recommended places in about 20 cities in the broader nearby area. Nothing in the city or within several hours of high-speed rail compares to a stay at Ritz-Carlton Pudong. In Asia and indeed the planet, this impeccable hotel experience stands as an iconic example of old-world elegance and service. In addition, it also offers a unique view of both some of the most modern and tallest buildings and the city’s famed Bund riverside, home to a variety of art deco architectural masterpieces. We had the incredible good fortune to start our honeymoon at the Ritz in Pudong, and this last stay was our last honeymoon treat. As always, it was a spectacular experience that we cannot recommend enough. The most extraordinary part of the stay really is the staff, they are all world class people who go above and beyond to make the Ritz-Carlton Pudong such an exceptional institution in one of the world’s leading cities. Sincere thanks to the whole team for making this happen, including Cherryl, who made reservation delightfully effortless, Chris who helped us to our room, and Joey and Ruby who helped in the evening. Special and heartfelt thanks to the whole team who make the Club Lounge experience world beating: Eddie and Junita, who both lead by example, have a deep passion for the details that create excellence, as well as being just the nicest people. They are both incredibly inspiring leaders and professionals. Claire is generally excellent there but also was phenomenally helpful to get a bag back when it was left behind, we really apricated that. Jeramy and Vivian also are amazing, as are Club Lounge’s chef’s Joe and Austin. Sherry is a real star, attentive, sharp and so helpful. Last but not least, Helen, who was the first person to greet us after we got married, and fittingly the last person to help us create personalised room key cards with our wedding photo on it, and most recently a special photo of family from our honeymoon. Those keycards are really cool keepsakes, but making them is not as simple as you might think: the image is etched into the key, not printed, so the original photo needs to be translated by AI into an image that the etching system is capable of delivering, which is really impressive. When I showed my mom who lives very far away, even she was impressed with Helen’s work. Ordinarily we prioritise new experiences over more of the same, regardless of how comfortable and nice it is. But regardless of how hard we try, we have not been able to figure out a better way to celebrate our biggest moments than a stay at the Ritz in Pudong.

Llulu333100% recommend!!! I always stay in this hotel whenever I come to Shanghai! It's in a great area of the city and right across the road from Changshu Lu subway station (which has two subway lines on). The hotel has many rooms and is spread out on the 18th, 19th, and 20th floors of the building. Which means that there are incredible views of the city! I recommend paying a little extra and getting the room with a window, just for the view! The rooms are very clean with amazing bedding and pillows. You also have a personal TV, aircon, toiletries pack, bottle of water and slippers etc. There are water filter machines on each floor and usually free tea on the lobby floor. The staff are there 24 hours at the front desk, so you can check in anytime. The bathrooms are always really clean, and the cleaning ladies are always in out, making sure everything is nice. Bonus: The famous SYSTEM night club is also in the same building (around 3rd floor). So you can party and then go up to your room on the 19th floor!

Since I was returning from overseas, 16 packages arrived before I did, and they had already helped sort them all together. They even assisted with returning items that weren't suitable the next day, which was really excellent 👍. The complimentary late-night snack was also great; soup noodles, wontons, and porridge – not a fancy feast, but after a long journey, a hot bowl of soup noodles was incredibly comforting. After landing and collecting my luggage, I called, and the driver arrived at the designated spot in about 20 minutes. The hotel also has many guests visiting Disneyland with their children, and offers many value-added services. I'll definitely stay here again next time!

GGuest UserSuch a delightful and comfortable stay! This was my first time experiencing a Banyan Tree property, and it was truly a unique experience. The overall color scheme is on the darker side, but when combined with the various aromatherapy scents, it creates a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere. The pillow menu was comprehensive, and there was even an aromatherapy menu to choose from – I picked the sweet orange, which smelled absolutely lovely. The front desk mentioned an upgrade to a room with an even better view, and they weren't kidding. The Oriental Pearl Tower and the 'Three-piece set' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers) looked like a giant painting hanging right outside the window – simply stunning! Both the à la carte and buffet breakfast options were delicious. The service was also excellent. We had a WeChat concierge add us in advance, and we could ask questions throughout our stay. GGuest UserThis hotel is excellent! I booked a room with a view, and the service was impeccable. The entire concierge team, especially Rookie and Brin, were incredibly professional and friendly. Both check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. They proactively helped with heavy luggage, coordinated requests, and patiently answered all sorts of questions. As someone who appreciates attention to detail, I was truly impressed. The service quality perfectly matches Waldorf Astoria's brand positioning.

AAnonymous UserBook this...the location is good - the Shanghai Railway Metro is within walking distance, and from there, you'll reach most tourist spots in only 2-5 stops. Transfers are convenient. We stayed for 6 nights, and the front desk and housekeeping staff were so accommodating. There's free bottled water, coffee, and tea at the lobby, plus other essentials. The twin Smart-AI room had an automated toilet, and the beds are as advertised (~1.5m), comfortable for 2 people to share. Blackout curtains help you get a good rest. You can also have your Taobao parcels delivered to the hotel. They have an area for this, and your package will be placed on the shelf based on your mobile's ending number. Your food delivery will be brought your door by a robot. This was a good stay, and we'd love to book this again for our next visit.
