"Staying at Qianhe Zhixuan Gaokong Hotel Hongyadong Branch for Christmas was an absolutely fantastic experience! The hotel's location is unbeatable – just a few minutes' walk to Hongyadong and Jiefangbei, and with a subway station right downstairs, getting around is super convenient. The cave-themed room is incredibly unique and stylish; every corner is picture-perfect, and the window offers stunning river and night views. The cleanliness was impeccable; every nook and cranny was spotless, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally thoughtful, from guiding us during check-in to a warm send-off at check-out, and they even gave us a small souvenir. The Christmas decorations were an added delight – the Christmas tree and festive decor in the lobby created an amazing atmosphere, perfect for photos. "Perfect location, right in the heart of Chongqing's downtown, at walkable distance of all main attractions. The hotel lobby is on the 31st floor, but our room was then located on the 33rd floor. Be aware that not all elevators take you to all floors and that it can be time consuming to go up and down. While we had booked a room with views, the views were practically from the bathroom's window. The size of the room was fine with a quite big and well equipped bathroom. The bed was very hard for our liking. The staff was friendly and kept our luggage for us upon check out until night time!"

My room had a low ceiling right above the sink and if I hadn't been careful, I would have smashed my head several times, which is not ideal.
I found it a bit weird that you needed to pay to use disposable slippers, especially after several experiences of hotels in China. Also, I would have appreciated if housekeeping didn't want to enter the room and clean around 9/9:30am, which is relatively early."

"The location was fantastic - 山城步道 is just opposite, and 10 min walk away is 十八梯. If you continue walking you will end up in 解放碑 and 洪崖洞. Walk somemore and you will reach 来福士 (took me about 2.5h).
The concierge is currently on the 4th floor in a makeshift area but the girls were nice and helped me receive my taobao parcels on my behalf before my arrival. They were also amiable during our communication on Wechat.
The hotel room is pretty and definitely aesthetic, but after having been to over a dozen Chinese hotels, the cleanliness can be improved as the sofa chair didn't look too clean and there was plenty of grout. The showerhead also isn't exactly in the best condition as the water was leaking from the sides. Additionally, the toilet also had a bit of sewage smell so that's something to keep in mind ~ The view from the 41st floor is amazing though and you get both street view and sea view."

"This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The room is spacious and sparkling clean, with a huge bathtub and great amenities. We liked it so much that we even extended our stay! There's free afternoon tea every day, and the Stormy Spa is a great experience. They even give you waterproof bags for your phones so you can take pictures in the Stormy Spa. The cleaning ladies are also very thorough and even organised our cables with cable ties, which I thought was really thoughtful. All the hotel staff are really friendly and helpful, and most of all, the 24 hour butler service is fantastic. Our butler was Luobo (萝卜) and they were amazing - responded immediately to all our requests and questions, and would deliver our food deliveries to our door. They also offer free laundry services! The hotel is viral on social media for a reason, would definitely recommend ☺️"

KKohBHAn excellent B&B! The location is superb, it's spacious, clean, and bright, with good security. The staff are incredibly thoughtful and attentive, proactively offering tourist information. Any questions could be asked via WeChat, and replies were always prompt and efficient. Every day, they provided bottled water, changed towels, and cleaned the room according to guests' requests. They also offered travel and food guides, as well as transportation tips.
My only minor suggestion would be to provide some basic utensils and dishcloths in the kitchen. This would make it easier for guests to dine in and be more environmentally friendly.
If any friends are planning a trip to Chongqing, I would definitely highly recommend this B&B.

The place is very well thought in terms of renovation and stone throw to the top attractions. However, one suggestion is the while using the tatami mat to sleep for guests to use, perhaps mattress cover, pillows and blankets should be provided upfront.

As a frequent business traveler, choosing a holiday hotel comes with a bittersweet dilemma. The sad part is that business trips prioritize proximity to the company, with no specific hotel brands, leading to many drops from gold status to no status at all 😂. The sweet part is that I can completely disregard high-tier benefits and choose based on good reviews for my stay.
After a week of extensive comparisons on Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, and Douyin, as a first-time visitor from Beijing, I can now practically draw a map of all the highly-rated hotels in Chongqing! 🤯 Haha.
Ultimately, considering I was bringing my parents to Chongqing, the first impression and the first night's experience would set the tone for the entire trip. So, I decisively chose Regent.
From the moment we arrived before even checking in, the top-tier service was evident. Hotel concierge Ms. Rita called a day in advance to inquire about my personal habits and room preferences. Upon arriving at the hotel entrance, whether it was the bellboy handling luggage or the front desk attendant checking us in, you could genuinely feel their smiling service—not just going through the motions for work. 👏
I'd like to extend a special thanks to concierge Ms. Rita. Knowing it was our first stay, she arranged for us to be on the same floor as my parents, making it convenient for us to get around, and also ensured the room facilities and services met our needs.
Even the best software falls short without strong hardware support, right? So, what about Regent's hardware? It's as solid as its name suggests. The basic room type is 57m², the minibar is completely free, and guests receive a complimentary cocktail at the Two Rivers Bar. Even the hairdryer is a Dyson! My mom commented, 'If I had known the hotel was this nice, I wouldn't even bother going out; I'd just enjoy the hotel.' 🤡
And coincidentally, Regent Chongqing's decor style is somewhat similar to Park Hyatt Sanya. Although some have complained about the rooms being dark, as an 'introvert,' I absolutely love this ambiance! Due to the proximity of attractions on this trip, we basically moved to a new place every day. We went to Jiefangbei the next day, so unfortunately, I didn't get to fully experience the hotel's other amenities. I definitely need to stay for a few more days next year when the weather is nice, to truly enjoy a resort-like experience within the city! 🏖️
Finally, a huge thank you again to concierge Ms. Rita for her meticulous care. All requests were answered within 1 minute, and she even gave me Chongqing noodles and hotpot base as souvenirs! ~
To reiterate, for top 3 service in China, you can't go wrong with Regent. Even a basic room offers 99% of the hotel experience you could ask for!

Bed was little bit hard for us but ok. Linen is nice, towels nice, good shower, great amenities. Cleanliness was perfect, the cleaner was very friendly and pays a lot of attention to detail. Staff very friendly and helpful and proactive through messaging service in English. Nice having fresh fruit that was replaced daily. Breakfast was good with some options freshly cooked to order. Afternoon tea inclusions great but would be good to have some savoury options or alternate the sweets given. Would be good to have more information on English about bar or wine options. Room was very quiet. Location is great and central to get cabs around, just have to walk some steps from taxi but not far and they carry luggage but I feel sorry for the guy who has to carry them up and down the stairs. The place is really nice with a lot of character and very plush and comfortable and I would stay here again for sure. It’s much nicer than the very big hotel chains as there are only small number of rooms.

MM363954****This hidden gem offers incredible value for money! The overall environment is elegant and tidy, with a well-designed room layout and thoughtful details everywhere. The bedding is comfortable and provides excellent quietness. Facilities are complete and well-maintained; hot water is stable and the internet speed is smooth. The bathroom is clean with no blind spots. Service is meticulous and attentive, and the check-in and check-out process is convenient and efficient. The location is superb, making travel easy. My entire experience was excellent, far exceeding expectations. It's definitely worth repeat stays, highly recommended!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is pretty good, very close to Hongyadong, and you can even see it from the window. However, navigating Chongqing's hilly streets is truly challenging, especially when we encountered traffic control during the National Day holiday. Dragging our suitcases through a surging crowd for 10 minutes was an unforgettable experience.
The hotel rooms are quite old-fashioned, and consequently, the facilities are also dated. The windows facing the street surprisingly weren't double-glazed, so even at midnight, we could still hear the bustling crowds talking and car horns blaring downstairs, which definitely impacted our stay.
On the positive side, since we stayed during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the hotel gave us a complimentary souvenir, which was a thoughtful touch.

MM254479****Choosing the right hotel in Chongqing truly makes a difference to your travel happiness! This blind booking at Le Méridien Chongqing, Nanchuan, completely hit the spot for me. The facilities are bursting with artistic flair, and the service is so attentive I want to give it full marks. It really lives up to its reputation as a hidden gem under Marriott!
As soon as I entered the lobby, I was blown away! The red and black French retro design, coupled with collaborative oil paintings from art institutions, and the iconic red piano 🎹 – every photo looks like it's from an art gallery. The faint sandalwood scent in the air instantly soothed my travel fatigue. The room decor was incredibly thoughtful, with Le Méridien's unique longitude and latitude headboard a very memorable touch.
I have to specifically praise the service! I'd called ahead to mention it was my birthday, and they decorated the room – such a pleasant surprise! The front desk lady checked me in super fast, and when she saw I had luggage, she proactively helped me carry it. As a Marriott member, I also received welcome fruits and local Chongqing snacks.
The facilities are impeccable! They've recently updated the toilets, and the wallpaper is really nice. After a workout, you can even head to the Latitude 29 Lobby Bar for a seasonal cocktail. The hotel is right next to Nanchuan Metro Station, a 2-minute walk to Wanda Plaza, making it incredibly convenient to explore Jiefangbei and Hongyadong by monorail. The location is absolutely fantastic~
Although the hotel has been around for some years, the facilities are superbly maintained – you can't see any signs of age! From the art-filled public areas to the thoughtful amenities in the rooms, and the consistently excellent service, the value for money is just outstanding. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chongqing 🫣🫣
