Shiguangyouzou007I found a hidden gem of a hotel in Jiefangbei, and it exceeded all my expectations! 📍 The Ark Hotel (Jiefangbei Hongyadong Branch) has an unbeatable location, right outside Jiefangbei. My room directly overlooked the Jialing River, and opening the window revealed the dazzling nightscape of Mountain City. The twin towers in the distance glowed with a soft golden outline, creating an incredible atmosphere.
The room boasted a sophisticated minimalist style, with furniture in rich wood tones complemented by luxurious Brazilian stone accents. The Serta mattress was incredibly soft – once I lay down, I didn't want to get up. My favorite part was the large bathtub; soaking in warm, bubbly water while gazing at the city lights outside instantly melted away all my travel fatigue.
The hotel's public areas are also incredibly stylish. The dark-themed lobby with its crystal chandeliers and vintage sculptures makes for a perfect high-end photo op. And the beef brisket noodles for breakfast were so fragrant, especially with a freshly fried soft-boiled egg – a perfect way to power up for a day of exploring Mountain City. Being within walking distance of Jiefangbei and Hongyadong made getting around super convenient!

Guest UserThe location is fantastic, right next to Raffles City, and within walking distance to Jiefangbei and Hongyadong. It's incredibly convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The subway is also very close, so getting around is completely stress-free. The hotel is on a high floor, offering panoramic views through floor-to-ceiling windows. You can watch the sunset in the evening and enjoy the night views of the two rivers from your bed, overlooking the entire city – perfect for stunning photos!
The room was spotless, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation with no odd smells. After a long day of travel, a good night's sleep here is incredibly refreshing. The toiletries were high-quality, and the attention to detail was evident. The front desk staff were gentle and patient, and check-in was very quick. The lobby design is simple yet sophisticated, and the common areas are clean and tidy.

Guest UserEasy to find and very close to Hongyadong. The room environment is great, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the best part is having a washing machine and dryer, which is super convenient. The front desk is on the 25th floor, offering river views at any time, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. If I come back again, I'll definitely choose Espace again.

Guest UserGreat location, dinner was good, but let down by malfunctioning hot water in the shower in 2 or the 3 rooms we booked. We had only ice cold water from the shower. Thankfully it was rectified. In one of our rooms (2005) the shower stall glass sliding door had come off the rails, and could East have fallen on guests, causing serious injury from the weight of the door and broken glass.
The check-in staff was very helpful, but the staff at breakfast on 6 Jan was quite unhelpful, and in fact started to argue about the prior breakfast arrangement our tour guide made with the hotel the previous day. Rather than saying she didn’t know and would check, she unilaterally decided the options were wanted (and had prepared the hotel for through our guide’s arrangements the previous day) were not available.

I really need to vent about the service here.
First, the good points: The location, ambiance, design, decor, and breakfast were all excellent. It's a beautiful, centuries-old building, entered through a side door next to a church – truly a hidden gem in the city. Everything started off wonderfully.
Then, I was shocked by the service process. We had booked an activity and dinner a day in advance, but the staff member who was supposed to guide us the next day had no idea about it.
It was my birthday, and I had informed the hotel beforehand. I appreciate them offering a complimentary birthday cake. However, I watched the employee walk for several minutes in the rain without an umbrella, carrying the cake. This meant the cake was exposed to the rain for that entire time. When it arrived in the room, it looked exactly like the picture – soggy and ruined. What should have been a nice bonus turned into a rather disappointing birthday memory.
It feels like the staff training is only halfway done. They have all the right facilities, which makes the poor service even more regrettable.

Pros: The breathtaking views of Jinyun Mountain and the Jialing River are truly exceptional from this location. The hot spring facilities are also impressive, with a good variety of pools and a cleverly designed, intricate layout.
Cons: The hotel's hardware facilities are quite outdated. For this price point, the hotel could definitely learn from the operational standards of top-tier brands. Furthermore, the breakfast selection is limited, and the toiletries in the room are of poor quality – these are areas with significant room for improvement. Large sections of wooden panels in the public areas are discolored or in disrepair.
Overall: If you're looking for value for money, you might want to reconsider. However, if budget isn't an issue and you prioritize experiencing the beautiful scenery and hot springs, it's definitely worth a visit. Finally, the complimentary travel photoshoot provided by the hotel was a nice touch, and I'd like to commend the photographer, Zixuan, for her excellent service.

Had a fantastic stay! Chongqing has so many delicious local snacks, and there are tons of affordable snack shops right downstairs from the hotel. The front desk staff were super helpful and had an answer for every question, and their service was excellent. The room was also very clean. The restaurant on the 29th floor is great, and you can enjoy the night view of Jiefangbei from there. My only minor complaint is that the gym is a bit small, but overall, it's highly recommended.

The hotel's location is quite good, surrounded by attractions, making it very convenient to visit Kuixing Tower and Daijia Lane. There are also many shopping malls nearby. Given the recent hot weather in Chongqing, the hotel thoughtfully provided an ice machine and ice water in the mini-fridge, which was incredibly considerate. The toiletries in the room were also well-stocked, including body lotion, shampoo, and shower gel.
The location is excellent, making it easy to get anywhere, and the price is fair. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, especially the breakfast. The dining area offers a great ambiance with river views, and there's a wide variety of food. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay at Harmony Oasis Hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Chongqing.
The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of space to relax after a long day of sightseeing. One of the highlights was the amazing view, especially at night. It really made the stay feel extra special.
The reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay, making check-in and any questions I had quick and easy.
The location is another big advantage. It’s conveniently located near Jiefangbei and within easy reach of Chongqing’s main attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas, making it a perfect base for exploring the city.
Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money with spacious rooms, beautiful views, great service, and a fantastic location. I would happily stay here again on my next trip to Chongqing.

This Le Meridien stay completely exceeded my expectations. It's a five-star experience that offers incredible value for money. The hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, surrounded by shopping areas and chain restaurants, so getting around and finding food is a breeze. Suki at the front desk was very efficient and even proactively recommended great places to eat and visit – there's so much good food in Chongqing, I'm a big fan of 'feichangji' (a local chicken and intestine dish)!
The room was spotless and odor-free, with fluffy, soft bedding that let me fall asleep quickly. The soundproofing was excellent, so I wasn't disturbed by any hallway noise. The bathroom had a well-designed wet/dry separation, 24-hour hot water with stable pressure, and the complimentary toiletries were very pleasant to use. Overall, it was an experience beyond five stars. I'll definitely prioritize staying here next time I visit the city.
