PoledebuerganluoFor my trip to Chongqing, I specifically chose the Shushan 1946 Hotel, tucked away in the middle of Yuzhong Mountain. My entire stay far exceeded expectations, making it a true hidden gem of a boutique hotel on this trip.
The hotel is a renovation of a 1946 Republican-era courtyard house, nestled on the hillside of Huanghuayuan Victory Lane. Backed by a forest and facing the Jialing River, its location is simply superb. It's close to the metro station, offering convenient access to core attractions like Jiefangbei and Hongyadong. At the same time, its secluded hillside setting provides a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, truly achieving a sense of tranquility amidst the noise with excellent privacy.
The entire courtyard retains a strong Republican-era architectural heritage. Red brick old foreign-style houses, vintage staircases, and elegant courtyards, combined with old trees and greenery, create an incredible atmosphere. Every corner offers a picturesque, film-like scene, perfect for casual photography. The hotel even thoughtfully provides small props for photos, showing great attention to detail. The guest rooms feature a minimalist, warm wooden style, with clean and elegant decor and a premium feel. The cleanliness throughout the room was impeccable, with spotless corners and no overlooked areas. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly with excellent blackout curtains, ensuring a particularly quiet night and very high-quality sleep. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the toiletries have a fresh and pleasant scent. The amenities are comprehensive, making for a comfortable and worry-free stay.
The most impressive aspect was the hotel's butler service. Before check-in, the butler proactively sent directions for getting up the mountain and a travel guide. Upon arrival, they helped with luggage. The service was gentle, polite, and perfectly discreet, never overly intrusive. The complimentary afternoon tea on the terrace during my stay was exquisite and delicious, and every evening, a heartwarming sweet soup was provided, making the experience truly exceptional. The hotel offers 24-hour butler service and complimentary laundry and ironing, responding promptly to all requests, which was very thoughtful. Breakfast is a set menu featuring a combination of Chinese and Western dishes, including authentic Chongqing dandan noodles with peas and minced meat (wandanmian) and wontons, as well as delicate Western options. The taste is authentic and the selection is rich.
Overall, this is a distinctive hotel that combines historical heritage, a serene environment, and attentive service. It doesn't have the commercialized feel of a typical 'influencer' hotel; it's quiet, healing, and full of character. It's perfect for a relaxing vacation in Chongqing, and the experience was truly exceptional. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Chongqing!

This private hot spring is quite close to the city center. I booked the 'Zuiyue' room type, which includes three suites, a mahjong room, a public restroom, one large hot spring pool, and one small hot spring pool. The water is drained and refilled for each new guest. It also comes with complimentary tickets to the RONGHUI public hot spring area, making it perfect for families with young children on weekends, especially those who love playing in the water. It's a great spot for family fun. The environment is lovely, and the staff are incredibly enthusiastic. A special thanks for the Christmas decorations!

I never expected to find such a warm and inviting hotel hidden away in Ciqikou Ancient Town.
Traveling with kids, finding the right room type is always a headache, but the family room we booked this time was perfect – the beds were big enough, the space was generous, and my child didn't want to get out of the bathtub. Even better, you can take a taxi directly to the main entrance, and there's an underground parking lot too. It's so convenient, it hardly feels like you're in an ancient town.
In the center of the courtyard is a pavilion, surrounded by small stools. When the fire was lit, a singer played guitar in the pavilion. I sat by the fire with a craft beer in hand, feeling the warmth on my face, and my mind just emptied – I wasn't thinking about anything, just the crackling of the firewood. In that moment, it felt like I was sitting in an old courtyard deep in the mountains, where time slowed down enough to hear my own heartbeat. Xiao Qing and Xiao Tuo at the front desk were also very attentive, reminding us about the fire and singing in the evening when we checked in.
The hotel is called 'Yueyin Chongqing Courtyard', and it's such a fitting name. It truly feels like a hidden courtyard in the city, full of life and human touch.
Next time I come to Chongqing, I'll probably detour here just for this fire again.

sandy_qiqiWhenever I go to Chongqing, I always visit Guanghuan Plaza, which reminded me of this hotel nearby. After checking in, all I can say is that I got a five-star hotel experience for less than 800 yuan. First, let's talk about the room layout: two 1.35-meter single beds can be combined to form a massive 2.7-meter double bed. This is perfect if you're staying with kids – plenty of space. The room also has a bathtub, and crucially, it came with disposable bathtub liners (I forget the exact term!). Plus, the children's amenities provided were really good quality, not just an afterthought. What's even more impressive is that they placed dental floss right on the vanity – all the little touches were delightful. The product manager truly deserves commendation. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chongqing.
Oh, and the breakfast buffet was excellent too, with a wide variety of delicious food. What really blew me away was finding steamed red dates at a buffet for the first time – that's a treat I usually only get at home!

CARLOSssMy stay at Regent Chongqing truly exceeded expectations, living up to its reputation as a top-tier luxury benchmark under the IHG umbrella. Located on Jinshamen Road in Jiangbeizui, it faces the Jialing River and Yuzhong Peninsula directly. Our river-view room offered unparalleled panoramic views of Hongyadong and Qianximen Bridge at night. The most impressive aspect was the service, which was seamless from start to finish—from the concierge proactively opening car doors and handling luggage, to the contactless delivery of items via the in-room butler cabinet. The hidden perks were incredibly generous: three complimentary laundry and ironing items per person per day, and a fully stocked complimentary mini-bar (including local 'xiaomahua' twists and baijiu). Rooms start at 57 sqm and come equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and Frederic Malle toiletries. Turndown service included spicy rice crust snacks and a customized bath menu (the rose bath was fantastic!). The freshly prepared Chongqing noodles at breakfast were authentic and delicious. The Two Rivers Bar on the 7th floor is perfect for enjoying a drink with night views. The attention to service details completely made up for everything. This will definitely be my top choice for my next visit to Chongqing!

xiuqingThe hotel decor is absolutely beautiful. The elevator is private, and the duplex suite we booked was incredibly spacious. The sofa was huge, and there's a large observation balcony directly facing Chaotianmen, which offered a prime view for the Saturday night drone show! The room was impeccably clean, and the air freshener smelled lovely. The bedding was super comfortable, almost like what you'd have at home, not those stiff, plain white sheets you usually find in hotels. All the toiletries were top-notch; the Dyson hairdryer was fantastic, and even the toilet paper was Kleenex. The projector came with a membership. The only minor downside was that breakfast was quite simple with limited choices. However, right outside the hotel, there's a street full of restaurants, including many hotpot places. A short walk takes you to Longfor Paradise Walk and Danzishi Old Street, both great for exploring. The nearby Danzishi ferry terminal has hourly departures; you can take a round trip to Hongyadong and come back by boat. I mainly used taxis to get to attractions, which was very convenient and affordable, averaging around 20 RMB per trip. There's also a mini-fridge in the room stocked with complimentary drinks.

Pros: The breathtaking views of Jinyun Mountain and the Jialing River are truly exceptional from this location. The hot spring facilities are also impressive, with a good variety of pools and a cleverly designed, intricate layout.
Cons: The hotel's hardware facilities are quite outdated. For this price point, the hotel could definitely learn from the operational standards of top-tier brands. Furthermore, the breakfast selection is limited, and the toiletries in the room are of poor quality – these are areas with significant room for improvement. Large sections of wooden panels in the public areas are discolored or in disrepair.
Overall: If you're looking for value for money, you might want to reconsider. However, if budget isn't an issue and you prioritize experiencing the beautiful scenery and hot springs, it's definitely worth a visit. Finally, the complimentary travel photoshoot provided by the hotel was a nice touch, and I'd like to commend the photographer, Zixuan, for her excellent service.

Guest UserThe room was quite spacious, with a low table by the window and a bay window, perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. It was very comfortable. The bedding was also very comfortable, with soft duvets, though I did spend quite a while trying to figure out the bedside lamp, haha. The bathroom and toilet were in separate spaces, with the sink outside, all three being independent, which was incredibly convenient and a huge plus! Many other hotels don't offer such a thoughtful layout. The reception isn't on the same floor as the guest rooms, and there's a dedicated lounge area where you can work, read, or watch shows. The room's soundproofing was good; I didn't even hear the heavy rainstorm outside last night. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and even gave us two bottles of water for our journey when we checked out, which was a very thoughtful touch. You can also store your luggage at the front desk. The hotel is situated in a tranquil area surrounded by schools, museums, and memorials, making for a beautiful environment. It's accessible from two subway stations, and there's a police car on duty right downstairs, as well as security guards, so it feels very safe. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Chongqing, especially with many historical 'red' attractions nearby, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Guest UserChoosing the Westin Chongqing Jiefangbei for my trip was absolutely the best decision! I have to give it a huge five-star rating!
First off, the location is unbeatable. The hotel is right in the heart of the Jiefangbei central business district. It's just a few minutes' walk downstairs to Jiefangbei Monument and Bayi Delicious Street, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. The nearby subway station also makes getting to various attractions incredibly easy.
Then there's the service, which was truly exceptional! The day before check-in, a staff member from the hotel's guest experience department proactively called me and then added me on WeChat. They sent detailed check-in instructions and various practical tips in advance, which made me feel completely at ease even before arriving. During my stay, any questions I had on WeChat were answered promptly, with a very quick response time. From the front desk to housekeeping, every employee was warm, attentive, professional, and efficient, truly making me feel at home!
The breakfast was another major highlight! The variety was incredibly rich, with both Chinese and Western delicacies, plus authentic local specialties like Chongqing noodles and spicy wontons. Every morning, I had a super satisfying meal!
Finally, the room was spotless and tidy, with extremely high hygiene standards. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the Westin's 'Heavenly Bed' was truly amazing to sleep on – I had a wonderful night's rest!
In summary, this stay was perfect, and I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Chongqing. I highly recommend it to all friends visiting Chongqing!

Guest UserThe hotel front desk service was excellent, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious. All the staff were very friendly. I stay at this hotel every time I visit Chongqing, and the breakfast, especially the Chongqing noodles, is a highlight. The noodles taste fantastic, and you can even adjust the spice level yourself – how can you visit Chongqing without trying its noodles? It's also very close to Guanyin Bridge and North Station, so the location is superb and very convenient for getting around. This will definitely be my go-to place every time I visit. The guest services were very enthusiastic, guiding us to the elevators and helping with our luggage. 333 – fantastic!
