"It’s possibly one of the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. We were given a room smells of mould and damp to begin with, after complaining we got swap to a different room, no bad smell anymore, but the carpet was covered in dirty stains, what it really put me off was the blood stain under the thin bedsheets. The lady at front desk did then given us a prime room but with broken air conditioning, she did pre-warn me about the broken air conditioning, but we were far too tired and desperate to unpack and rest. I naively thought by opening the windows it will be fine. Anyway, on top of all these, our door also got unlocked by a stranger after we had just gone to bed. Luckily the chain at the back of the door was on and the stranger shut the door quickly after I shouted “who is it?” After a sleepless night, I had awful headache the following day, I had to change my plan the next day so I could recover fully."

"Located on the outskirts of town, it's about a twenty-minute walk from the train station. The convenience is excellent; it's roughly a ten-minute walk to the Butcher's Street and the city center. The staff are incredibly friendly; everyone from the front desk to the restaurant service made us feel right at home. The room facilities are complete and comfortable, the bedding is great, and the bathroom has a small heater that can dry towels and small clothes, which I absolutely loved. Overall, the hotel is very well-maintained. Highly recommended!"

My next time in York will be with the Radisson..and it also offers good parking which is very secure albiet it does come on first come basis.. but overall this hotel is excellant.. thankyou Radisson. "At 1700 [currency unit] a night, this was already the cheapest of the four hotels we stayed at in the UK. York's overall cost of living is much lower than Edinburgh and London. It was a family room with one double bed and two very small sofa beds. The hotel is by the river and is an older building. The room window was right next to one of the sofa beds and had cobwebs on it. I was a bit afraid of bugs crawling in if I opened it. There was no air conditioning; it wasn't hot outside that day, but it was quite warm inside due to poor ventilation, so I slept with the fan on."

Staff, room and breakfast was lovely, our only critique was there was a wedding reception downstairs which was unfortunately VERY loud and didn’t finish until midnight. Because it is an old building, there is no elevator, so you need to be careful if you have heavy luggage."

"The hotel is good, situated in a nice place (for drivers), parking is free. Room was of a good size, very clean and quiet. Water pressure and temperature were amazing, enjoyed our showers. Good to have a breakfast included as well. Hotel is clean and looks recently renovated. Floors are solid. Huge and good towels, a lot of light in the room. Heating was on when it got colder. Staff were very friendly and nice. Parking was full because of the bank holiday, had to stay far on an overflow parking, good that they have it. Warning about 160 fee for running hot water with the steam was honestly scary and inappropriate. Bed was just double, small for us. We were only able to sleep on our sides (my husband is big, I am average). Breakfast was tasty, but basic. Coffee (you choose tea or coffee) in a pot was too much for 1 person and not tasty at all. No fresh vegetables or/and vegetables, no sliced cheese, no pastry."
