The Grand York

The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the train station. There's a capsule coffee machine and small bottles of water in the room. I booked an accessible room this time, and the sink was quite small. I'd recommend being cautious when booking and opting for a standard room, as the bathroom is more convenient.

Environment: Probably the best hotel in York, right? Of course, it's not cheap. The executive room I booked was very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Facilities: My friend and I both booked executive rooms, but it seems some rooms are older and some are newly renovated. The older rooms had a drying rack, which my newer room didn't seem to have. Cleanliness: Decent. Service: Executive rooms come with breakfast, but it's just a typical British buffet breakfast, not much variety. I personally didn't like it; maybe I'm just tired of 'white people food'.

The hotel staff were incredibly helpful. My child left their AirPods in the room after we checked out, and when I called the hotel, they found them and mailed them back to us very quickly. We're so grateful! 🙏

Very close to the train station, just a few minutes' walk. Excellent service, and a fantastic breakfast with a la carte options. Quiet and comfortable, my top choice when visiting York.

A historic hotel with spacious rooms and a comfortable, clean bathroom. The concierge and front desk service were very thoughtful and attentive. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, offering not only a standard buffet but also custom-made Eggs Benedict, omelets, and porridge. The restaurant staff, both in London and York, were incredibly friendly and polite!

Very close to the train station, just a few minutes' walk with luggage. The room was relatively spacious, with enough space to fully open two suitcases, and it smelled pleasant everywhere. The room also came with capsule coffee and various flavors of English tea. York itself is a small town, so you can easily walk to the Shambles and the Minster. The facilities, cleanliness, environment, and service were all good. Hotels generally allow check-in after 3 PM, and luggage can be stored at the front desk. So when they called us a little after 1 PM to say our room was ready, we were still about 20 kilometers away at a manor. Overall, a good impression, recommended.

Its location is excellent, right by the ancient city walls where you can go up for panoramic views. It's also within walking distance of attractions like York Minster and Shambles. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings, and there's plenty of space to lay out two large suitcases. The breakfast restaurant is located past the front desk, at the other end of the main building. You enter through a foyer and then need to go up a few steps and turn a corner to find it. The buffet breakfast offers a good variety and is of decent quality. Overall, the hotel's facilities, cleanliness, ambiance, and service are all very good. When we checked out, a staff member even operated the lift for us, so we didn't have to carry our luggage up a few steps.
