The first issue with the hotel is that the check in time is 4pm which is way past normal checkins which is usually 2-3pm.
Although the staff helped my mother to the room, I had asked for the reception to help my mother check in because she does not know English and i had to go do some urgent work, but she completely forgot about it. I know it's not exactly your responsibility but I am sure being such a big hotel there could have been some hospitality or a helper to take her to the room sooner.

Location is Ok, 20 mins from train station and 5 mins to the city central. Hotel is closed to the York city wall and church, we may found it from our room window which are very beautiful in the night.
All the staffs are nice. A warm welcome cookies delivered when check in, and a handsome young man (he seems called “Tom” I saw from his name badge 😆) serviced for the breakfast area which is so helpful and nice, appreciated!!!!
Room is big however a smelly toilet. Try to fixed it with some air fresher but does not work. Guess that’s because of the pie air pressure issue of the WC, I’ve kept to smell it for 3 nights!!
Hotel just next to the main road, that’s quite noisy when the cars passing through. I am fine for that however my boyfriend can not slept well because of the noisy.

Only stayed here one night but were welcomed by lovely staff, who completed our check-in early and stored our bags until we came back later in the day when the room was ready. Room was a decent size with large individual beds. Didn’t really use the amenities much but it was well equipped.
The hotel is located just outside the city wall, just overlooking it. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the nearest restaurants, pubs and shops. We didn’t arrive by car but there is parking available at the hotel. It probably takes about 20 minutes to walk to the station, altho it’s hard to do it directly with lovely shops and cafes on the way.
I would definitely choose this hotel again as the location was good, it was clean and very presentable and the staff were nice. It was also decent value for money. Can’t comment on food or drinks as we didn’t have any at the hotel.

This was the most perfectly located hotel for our quick weekend trip to York. The hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming and let us leave our bags there prior to checking in whilst we explored the city and same on the way back. The room was the deluxe king and it was a great size for the two of us. Only two downsides would be the bathroom was a little small, the sink was quite low and small so you just have to be a little careful not to get water everywhere when using it & the tv wasn’t a smart tv so you were limited to a few channels.. luckily we could enjoy the World Cup though! :) Bar that, the stay was quiet, 10 mins walk from the shambles and within easy reach of York’s famous landmarks and attractions. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for a wonderful stay Doubletree York.

The hotel is very nice, right next to the city and the staff is very helpful and welcoming. We were able to check-in early and have a parking spot! The breakfast was delicious too!! Happy to come back! The bed was incredibly comfy
