Guest UserWe stayed for one night in Wtown Resort. We bought a package which included entrance ticket and some highlights.
Location: Convinent as one of shuttle bus stop is right in front of resort and it is also walking distance to performance area.
Facilities: Room is super spacious and clean. Building is slightly old but still well maintained. I love the lobby as it played traditional music with cozy area.
Staff is friendly and provide Wechat personalize guidance to guest who booked under trip.com. I think it is useful as it able to provide a quick chat and clarification e.g. performance timing and location.
Overall, it is good experience.

BabygemThe stay at Beijing WTown Hotel was completed the night prior to checking into Watertown Hotel, enabling a comparison of the two five-star hotels in Gubei.
Unlike Beijing WTown Hotel, where the staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism, took the initiative, and provided extensive information about the town and activities, the check-in experience at Watertown Hotel was ordinary and did not resemble a 5-star kind of standard. The themed room at Watertown did not really resemble a theme room as shown on the booking page, aside from a pig figurine placed on the sofa. The view from the room on the third floor was mediocre, was told by another staff during check-in that most rooms in the hotel lack a view. However, the view from the swimming pool was great.
The hotel is situated just outside the scenic area. An advantage of this location is that vehicles can drive directly to the hotel, offering convenient access.

Guest UserA truly friendly place. They've thought of everything for travelers, from morning coffee and warm water to evening congee and even face masks – all those thoughtful little touches. Staying in this area feels like living life as a local in the hutongs, with birds chirping and sunlight in the mornings, and a lively crowd queuing for bars when you return in the evenings.

They proactively upgraded our room to a Frozen-themed one, which was a lovely surprise! The hotel is incredibly close to the attractions, making it perfect for two families or one large family. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the kids absolutely loved it. We'd definitely come back given the chance.

Guest UserI stayed at the Yanqi Hotel for the last two days of the May Day holiday. I thought there would be fewer people as the holiday was winding down, but even at this price, the hotel was still fully booked. The hotel is divided into a main building and a villa area. The main building isn't large, only three stories, which makes getting around more convenient. The villa area is quiet and secluded, offering more privacy. It's managed by the Kempinski Group, just like the Sunrise Kempinski. If you're staying at Sunrise Kempinski, you can register your car plate to access the island. If you just want to explore Yanqi Island, booking afternoon tea also grants you access.
While hiking from the P5 parking lot of the Xishan Trail, I kept looking at the Yanqi Pagoda and the lawn on the island. After visiting in person, I found the scenery was indeed as beautiful as the pictures. However, staying here solely for the view isn't very cost-effective, as a room in the main building for 3000-4000 RMB a night is quite high.
Overall, I didn't experience the level of service expected from a five-star hotel, likely due to the large holiday crowds. The food was even more disappointing. Both breakfast and the dinner buffet didn't live up to five-star standards, leading to a very poor experience.

The rooms are clean and tidy, and come with a balcony. When checking in, you need to register your vehicle to park in the underground parking lot 🅿️, otherwise, you might be charged a parking fee. We had three king-size rooms, and 1119 had the best view, overlooking the lake from the balcony, with a beautiful sunrise in the morning. The room directly opposite could see the golf course behind, which was great for sunset views. The bathroom and bathtub are in separate spaces opposite each other, designed with two sinks for simultaneous use. The front desk is on the second floor, and the connecting corridor to the hot spring ♨️ is also on the same floor, though it's a bit of a walk. The buffet restaurant is on the first floor. Complimentary fruit was provided in the room.

The hotel's location is excellent, nestled in a hutong, very close to Zhangzizhong Road subway station – less than a 4-minute walk away. It's also near popular attractions like the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park. After visiting Jingshan Park, I encountered traffic restrictions, making taxis and buses inconvenient. I ended up cycling back to the hotel on a shared bike, which only took fifteen minutes. Cycling through the surrounding hutongs offers a unique charm. Although the hotel isn't new, it's clean, and the bedding is spotless. Crucially, facing the hutong means it's incredibly quiet, which is perfect for someone sensitive to noise like me. Plus, the hotel rooms have windows that can be opened for ventilation, which is a major plus. Many hotels in Beijing have sealed windows and rely on heating, making the air feel stuffy and stagnant. There are also many local eateries around the hotel, making it very convenient. All in all, it offers fantastic value for money.

GuangjiedehuashengrenThe biggest highlight of the Xinqiao Hotel is its extremely convenient location – directly opposite Chongwenmen Subway Station (where Lines 2 and 5 intersect). It's incredibly easy to get to Wangfujing, Tiananmen Square, and Beijing Railway Station by subway or bus. Plus, there are malls like New World nearby.
However, the facilities are indeed quite dated. After all, it's an old hotel that opened in 1954, and some rooms have dim lighting. Some room types are windowless, which can feel a bit stuffy if you haven't confirmed beforehand. I personally recommend getting a room with a window.
In summary, if location and transportation convenience are your top priorities and you're fine with the older style of an established hotel, this is a hassle-free choice!

Guest UserWe took our child on a last-minute trip and chose this hotel because of its nice environment. The experience exceeded our expectations. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, from the front desk to the room service staff – everyone was patient and attentive. I asked for an extra blanket and bed rails because I was worried about my child sleeping well, and they quickly brought them over. There were also many activities for children; my child did two kinds of crafts with the teacher in the morning and even baked pizza – they had a great time. They also have a large swimming pool with crystal-clear water, which the staff said was spring water. My child said it's a must-visit in the summer. There's also a newly decorated multi-functional hall with yoga facilities, tea ceremonies, and singing bowls – it's really quite nice. I was a bit skeptical after reading some reviews, but it wasn't as bad as some people said. There were indeed some insects in the garden, but that's part of the experience – it's about connecting with nature. Sitting on the swings and soaking up the sun in the morning was so relaxing. I also want to praise the tea the owner chose; the tea bags in the room smelled wonderful! 😃

Initially, a little hard to find as the location on trip.com map is inaccurate, but locals were very helpful in guiding me to the right building upon arrival
Very attentive, helpful host - great value for money, would recommend for hikers after a long day at Jinshanling
Nice places to eat in the town, and great bathroom and kitchen facilities included
