Hotels near Umeda Station, Osaka

This hotel was the perfect base for my tours. The main pickup point was very close by. It's a bit further from Umeda Station than some others, but still easily walkable. A major plus was the reception staff—their English was excellent and made everything smooth. Overall, fantastic value for the convenience.

I stayed at Hotel Kansai for four nights. Overall, the room was pretty good — comfortable and clean. The bathroom is very small, but that’s fairly standard for Japan, so no real surprise there. The staff were great and very friendly, although check-in is self-service, so you don’t really need much help anyway. There were a few negatives that are worth mentioning. One small but disappointing issue was dust behind the TV. It’s wall-mounted and very visible when you walk past every day, so it didn’t feel like something that was just missed once — it stood out. In the new building, there is only one elevator and it’s very slow. That’s a minor issue, but the biggest problem by far is the Wi-Fi. It’s extremely unreliable. It connects, disconnects for several minutes, comes back briefly, then drops again. I tested this on three different devices (phone and laptop), and when it went down on one, it went down on all of them. When it works, the speed is actually very fast, which makes it even more frustrating. For anyone who needs to work online, this is a serious issue, and personally I wouldn’t stay here again unless the Wi-Fi is fixed. Another thing to note is the location. It’s not as close to the subway as some people might think. There are bridges, underpasses, and mall connections, and if you’re new to the area it can be a bit confusing. Noise is also something to be aware of. You can hear sounds from outside at night, like music or drums, and the walls seem quite thin — I could hear people snoring in nearby rooms. I didn’t sleep terribly, but I did wake up three or four times each night. Finally, the room setup is very basic. There’s no proper chair, just a small wooden stool, which isn’t ideal if you want to sit comfortably for any length of time. Overall, it’s a decent hotel and better than some places I’ve stayed, but not the best. I would consider staying again only if the Wi-Fi issues were properly addressed.

The room was a bit small, but other than that, I'd still recommend it. Each floor has a water dispenser, which is convenient. It's about a 15-minute walk from Osaka Station and close to Hankyu Sanbangai. There are convenience stores, a Blue Bottle Coffee, izakayas, and Daikoku Drugstore nearby. The area felt very local, safe, and generally had a better vibe than Namba. Breakfast offers both Japanese and Western options, though after three days, it got a bit repetitive (the grilled fish was good, but be cautious with the takoyaki!). If you don't opt for breakfast, there are several nice cafes along the way to Hankyu & Osaka Station. P.S. The front desk staff's English isn't great, and the translator didn't work well either, but their attitude was excellent.

The room facilities seemed quite new, while the bathroom was a bit older. There was a little dust in the bathroom, but it was acceptable. The location is excellent, close to a commercial area, just a few minutes' walk away. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a FamilyMart convenience store, which is quite handy. Overall, it performs well for its price range. I chose to stay here this time because it's conveniently close to the airport express line, only a five-minute walk.

First time in a love hotel, and let’s just say expectations were weirdly exceeded. The room? Actually huge—bigger than anywhere else I stayed during my Japan trip. Came complete with an obnoxiously large TV, a projector for impromptu movie marathons, karaoke setup (in case you suddenly discover your inner pop idol), and a massage chair that felt suspiciously life-changing. Oh, and obviously, a jacuzzi because normal bathtubs are for peasants. They also went hilariously overboard with amenities: coffee, tea, a small pharmacy of cosmetics, and a vending machine dispensing essentials like lingerie or contact lens solution (because clearly, these two things belong together). Yes, I genuinely bought some solution; the machine knew my struggles. Overall, weirdly awesome experience. Would do it again!

Our club triple room was incredibly clean, offering a panoramic view of the city. Below, the intricate Japanese railway system stretched out. The breakfast was very satisfying, though the à la carte ordering made my child feel a bit restricted. The hotel is located in Umeda, but after exiting the JR station, it takes some searching to find as it's not in the central Umeda area. It's not particularly convenient, but we were very happy with the room. The toiletries were from Guerlain, and dining downstairs was also quite convenient. However, after 9 PM, only the 'Lanting' Chinese restaurant was open, truly showcasing the diligence and resilience of the Chinese people.

I actually think the hotel is great! It's not as small as some people say; my 24-inch suitcase could open up with room to spare. The best part is the location – it's right in the CBD, safe, clean, and not noisy at all. There are multiple malls just across the street, and downstairs you'll find convenience stores, drugstores, and places to eat wagyu and yakitori. Highly recommend!

The hotel's biggest asset is its location; it's convenient for getting everywhere. In Umeda, walking above ground with Google Maps is fine, but the underground is a nightmare – you'll definitely need to use the overhead walkways to find your way. I had to turn off the AC in the room because it was too hot, but the window wouldn't open. The air purifier's filter was incredibly dirty; I've always seen clean filters in other hotels, but Japanese hotels these days... Also, at the Daikoku next to Yodobashi Camera, all the sales staff were Chinese, and the prices weren't even that cheap.

The breakfast changed daily and was delicious! The front desk service was also excellent. It's very close to the Umeda shopping area, which was convenient for shopping, and we could store our luggage. Even after checking out, we could still leave our bags while doing some last-minute shopping around the area.

I brought my mom for a trip, and the location is great, very close to the subway station. Being near a subway station is really important in Japan because transportation can be so expensive. The instant coffee and matcha provided by the hotel were delicious. I couldn't resist taking a few packets home with me.
