Located in Beppu, AMANEK Beppu YULA-RE is within a 5-minute drive of Takegawara Onsen and Umitamago. "The location of the hotel is very good that it only takes 2-3 mins walk from beppu station. And around the hotel are different restaurants and shops in which you can buy souvenirs. Most importantly, there are 2 convenient stores nearby, 1 lawson and 1 family mart. The room with a modern style is well decorated, spacious and clean. The view from the room is also stunning. The picture was taken from my room. You can also enjoy this view when you are bathing as there is a big window in the bathing room. The onsen and the swimming pool are also good. The water in the swimming pool is warm even it’s in winter. So no matter which season you are in, you can still swim in the pool at the rooftop and at the same time enjoy the panoramic view of beppu. The only one thing I don’t like is that the cable machine in the gym room is so noisy and the motion is not smooth. It only has 1-10 kg dumbbells so if you want to get your chest pumped, you will have to find another way😭 btw, the breakfast is just normal. You can skip it and use that 3000 sth dollars to get sth delicious. if I travel to beppu again, this hotel will be my first priority fr."

1 minute walk from Beppu Station. Opening on October 17, 2023!

"This is a popular, mid-range hot spring hotel in Beppu. I stayed here for two nights in late January this year and felt it offered incredible value for money. Having been open for less than five years, the hotel facilities are very new. This was my first time staying at a hotel where you have to take off your shoes and store them in a locker upon entering, which instantly creates a relaxing atmosphere for guests. Disposable socks are also provided in the room. Even luggage entering the hotel passes over a washable damp mat, ensuring the floors remain spotless. The hotel is conveniently located directly across the street from Beppu Station, just a 3-5 minute walk away. Tickets for the 'Hells of Beppu' hot springs can be purchased at the information center at Beppu Station, or you can simply take a bus directly to the attractions. For a day trip to Yufuin, you can catch the JR train or bus No. 36 from Beppu Station. To Fukuoka, you can take the JR from Beppu Station, or walk 10 minutes to the Beppu Shopping Mall entrance (Beppu Kitahama Airport Bus Stop) to catch an airport bus. Beppu Tower and the seaside are also only about a 12-15 minute walk away. Rooms at this hotel are notoriously difficult to book. I booked a triple room almost two and a half months in advance in early November. For the first night, I only managed to secure a 41-square-meter family room with four beds (Photo 5), which turned out to be a delightful surprise. Two beds were in the spacious living room and two in the bedroom. The bathroom was a three-piece design with both a bathtub and a bidet. Both the rooms and public areas are decorated in a simple yet elegant style, featuring artistic patterns created with bamboo weaving and silk flowers. The hotel's hot spring facilities are located on the top floor (13th floor), open from 3 PM until 10 AM the following day. There are two public baths, one for men and one for women. Access to the men's bath only requires scanning your room card, while the women's bath requires a password (provided with your room card at check-in). Additionally, there are seven private baths available for couples, families, or friends to enjoy privately, limited to 45 minutes per session. On the first day, my family queued for check-in. At 3:10 PM, we experienced three private baths: Shibaishi, Myoban, and Kankaiji (top left, top right, and bottom left of Photo 4, respectively). After 4 PM, a long queue had already formed. On the second day, we switched rooms and checked in early at 2:50 PM. At 3:05 PM, we went up and, after waiting in line for 20 minutes, only managed to enjoy Hottayu (top right of Photo 5). After dinner, we waited almost 40 minutes for Kannawa (top left of Photo 5). Screens in the guest rooms and on the 13th floor display the real-time availability of the private baths. During winter, the open-air hot springs on the high floor can be very windy, and the water temperature is relatively low, which can make your scalp tingle. The Kankaiji room is often unused, so be cautious when choosing it; in summer, it's the opposite. There's also an ocean-view lounge on the same floor, offering complimentary ice cream with four or five flavors. From 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Yakult is also provided, though it tends to be taken by guests after 8:30 AM. The buffet restaurant is on the first floor and is not very large. For breakfast, after 8 AM, you generally need to take a number and wait, which can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes. Breakfast costs 3000 JPY/person, and dinner is 4000 JPY/person. Personally, I found breakfast to be better value. Dinner only adds more teppanyaki beef, pan-fried snapper, and mussels, but the desserts and fruits are not as good as breakfast. From 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, complimentary soy sauce ramen is offered. For the first half hour, there's usually a long queue, but it's really delicious. The lobby on the first floor offers 24-hour free coffee, hot chocolate, hot and cold water, and ice. Over 80% of the hotel's guests are Korean, with a good number of Hong Kong and ********* visitors as well; perhaps fewer domestic tourists were present during my visit as it wasn't yet the winter holiday season. Overall, with its excellent location, spacious rooms, fantastic private baths with great views, and good dining options, plus plenty of free perks, this hotel offers exceptional value and is highly recommended."

Located in Beppu, 13 miles from Crasus Dome Oita, Apartment Hotel YAEZAKI provides accommodations with a terrace, private parking, a restaurant and a spa & wellness center. Featuring a shared lounge, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Some units at the property feature a balcony with a city view. All guest rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave, an electric tea pot, a bidet, free toiletries and a desk. All rooms have a flat-screen TV, and certain units at the hotel have a sea view. Guest rooms include a closet. Apartment Hotel YAEZAKI offers a hot spring bath. Popular points of interest near the accommodation include Beppu Station, Beppu Tower and Yayoi Tengu. Oita Airport is 23 miles away.

"Located next to Don Quijote, it's super convenient for late-night shopping. It's about a 10-minute walk to the airport bus station and a 10-minute walk to Beppu Station. The surrounding area isn't too noisy, but there's a sea view across the street, so I never used the bathroom, haha. This newly opened apartment hotel makes it easy to buy groceries and cook in your room – enjoying high-quality ingredients at affordable prices. Unexpectedly, there's a small but very comfortable rooftop open-air onsen with ocean views! It seems there will be a yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant in the future. The front desk service is very friendly. There are no staff at the front desk late at night, but the access control code ensures security. There's a beverage machine in the lobby with a wide variety of drinks – very convenient!"

"A quiet business class hotel located just meters outside the JR Beppu station, within close walking distance of day use onsen, shopping, and dining. While it's true they are adjacent to the elevated rail, in practice this isn't really a problem for all but the most sensitive travellers because of frequency and limited use at night."

"I just realized I didn't take any photos! The hotel's location is pretty good; it's right off the main road, just a short turn into a smaller street. It's very close to the JR station, where the tourist information center is located. You can buy 'hell' tickets and bus day passes there. If you're taking the bus to Kumamoto, the stop is right across the street, in front of Lawson. Don't be alarmed when you enter the hotel and see a cafe – the front desk is right beside it, inside the cafe. You can store your luggage there. Japan now mostly has self check-in, but the front desk staff will assist you. They'll give you information about the hotel. After checking in, you'll grab a black bag containing towels yourself. If you need anything else, you can pick it up from the table nearby. They don't offer cleaning service for stays less than five days, which I found a bit inconvenient – having to do some chores even when on vacation! Every day, you put your trash bin outside your door, and hang used towels outside the door. When you return in the evening, the trash bin will have a clean bag and you bring it back in. For towels, remember to pick up a new black bag from the first floor when you come back; I initially thought they'd also be hung outside, but they weren't. For check-out, I used the self-service machine. Just insert your room card into the machine for it to be collected, and you're all set. The hotel itself is quite clean, and there's a hot spring available, though I didn't go as I'm not a big fan."

Sanso Kannawaen is dotted with the main building, annex, detached building, and Sorakan on a vast site of 45,000 square meters. Located on a hill in Beppu City, it has a great view, and there are rooms with a panoramic view of Beppu city and Beppu Bay. There are various room types, such as Japanese-Western style rooms and Western style rooms, so it can be used for various occasions. All rooms have their own hot spring bath, and you can enjoy the "mysterious blue water" that is 100% natural spring water whenever you like during your stay. The large public bath on the top floor, which was renovated in August 2024 and is exclusively for guests, has various baths such as indoor baths, open-air baths, box steam baths, cypress baths, and ceramic baths, so you can enjoy the hot springs to the fullest. From the open-air bath, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Beppu, which will be a special moment. *The color of the blue water changes depending on the day. You can choose your favorite plan from Japanese kaiseki and teppanyaki. Please enjoy dinner at the restaurant, where each chef has prepared a meal using carefully selected ingredients. The grounds include a Japanese garden and a Noh theater, and the traditional beauty of Japan can be felt everywhere. Antiques and modern paintings are on display inside the building, allowing you to enjoy a moment out of the ordinary. "Hell," a tourist spot in Beppu, is within walking distance, making it an ideal base for sightseeing in Beppu. There is also a luggage storage service before check-in and after check-out, so you can enjoy sightseeing to the fullest. Guests can use the shuttle service from Beppu Station (advance reservation required) and the parking lot free of charge. All rooms are non-smoking, but there is a smoking area within the facility.

"I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beppu! The views are absolutely stunning, with rooms nestled halfway up the mountain offering panoramic sea and cityscapes. Having an open-air bath right in the room, where you can soak while enjoying the scenery, is incredibly relaxing. The hotel is within walking distance of several 'hell' attractions, which is super convenient. If you're heading to Fukuoka Airport, the airport bus stop is less than a 10-minute walk away. The service is also quite attentive. From the moment you enter, several staff members greet you, guide you to the check-in area, and then escort you to your room for a room tour. Dinner and breakfast were good; perhaps not the absolute best 'one-night, two-meals' experience I've had in Japan, but still very decent."

"Stayed at Meisong Oji Pavilion in Beppu, a Japanese-style ryokan located right by the sea. It featured traditional tatami rooms and included both dinner and breakfast, all of which were delicious Japanese cuisine. The open-air onsen was a wonderful experience. Naturally, it was on the pricier side. The location was also very convenient for transportation; we easily took a bus to visit the 'Hell Hot Springs' (Jigoku Onsen)."

"Facilities: The hotel building has its name prominently displayed on the top floor, making it easy to spot and find. It’s a traditional Japanese hotel; while the facilities might look a bit dated, they possess a charm and strength that comes with age. The rooms are spacious, with a separate wet and dry area. The bathroom vanity is also large, which is quite generous for a hot spring hotel offering dinner and breakfast (ichihaku-nisyoku). The public bath isn't huge, but it's perfect for a relaxing soak after washing up (toiletries are provided, though I only saw facial cleanser, no makeup remover, so it's advisable to bring your own). I went during dinner time, so I had the place all to myself, which was wonderfully comfortable. After showering, drinking water and vending machines are available right outside the bath entrance. I didn't book a private bath, so I can't comment on that. Cleanliness: Overall, it was very good. The tatami mats were clean, and you can always trust the standards of Japanese establishments. Environment: The surroundings are peaceful and serene. Our room faced the ocean, and the sea was especially calm in the morning. The grassy slopes and walking paths along the coast were also very pleasant and distinctly Japanese! We took a comfortable stroll there in the evening. The town was particularly quiet and tranquil in the mornings, and Beppu Station was only about a ten-minute walk away. Highly recommend! Service: The service was excellent. During check-in, they provided a detailed explanation of the facilities and let us choose our dinner and breakfast times based on our arrival. This perfectly aligned with our itinerary for the next day, which was great. Dinner was delicious, with a generous selection of sashimi and hot pot dishes. Soft drinks could be ordered separately. It was ample for two adults and one child. Breakfast was traditional Japanese, served in a small private room with an ocean view – lovely. On the morning of our second day, I unexpectedly got my period. I wanted to buy sanitary pads, so I showed a translation to the elderly lady at the front desk. She immediately went into the back room and brought out several different types, neatly wrapped in paper for me. It was incredibly thoughtful. There's also self-service coffee available in the lobby, worth trying. Overall, we were very satisfied. We spent two days and one night in Beppu, visiting the 'Hells' (hot spring tour) and the Kyushu Natural Zoological Park. It's a town definitely worth a second visit."

"This hotel is an annex of AMANEK YULA-RE, granting guests access to the main building's 16th-floor public bath (onsen) and 17th-floor outdoor infinity pool and Jacuzzi. **Pros:** 1. **Excellent Location:** It's just a 5-minute walk from the JR station, the bus stop for Fukuoka, and the bus stop for the Beppu Hells. The Fukuoka-bound bus station (located near a shopping mall) is also conveniently reachable within a 10-minute walk. 2. **Stunning Infinity Pool:** The infinity pool offers breathtaking views, including Beppu Tower, and is perfect for photos. Unfortunately, it rained heavily during my stay, so it was deserted during the day. The operating hours are quite reasonable, covering most of the day during my visit. 3. **Impressive Lobby & Dining:** The main building's lobby boasts an impressive design. Dining options are available on the first floor, and at 3300 JPY (approximately 160 RMB), the price is quite reasonable, comparable to what you'd expect at a star-rated hotel in China. 4. **Convenient Amenities & Services:** Shower caps and other amenities are available for collection at the front desk. Luggage storage is also provided. 5. **Spacious & Quiet Rooms:** Rooms are spacious. The hotel is quiet, ensuring a very good night's sleep."

CCcsgbbThe only minor drawback is the slightly remote location, meaning you'll likely need a taxi or public bus to get down the mountain since the complimentary shuttle service isn't very frequent. Otherwise, there are virtually no other complaints. The room itself was very spacious, clean, and tidy, and the toiletries provided were quite good. The outdoor hot spring was fantastic! The hotel wasn't overly crowded, which made for a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

GGuest UserBeppu Hostel U&T is outstanding in many areas of the hospitality industry. The premise is squeaky clean, the Japanese style beds were comfy & snug. The staff were helpful, courteous & we noted went about their chores unintrusively. The coin-operated washing machines & driers were easy to operate. We were pleasantly surprised by the peaceful atmosphere in the common area & astonishing array of beverages provided free for guests. We liked it's central location just across from Beppu Tower & short walking distance to stores & cafes. Highly recommended!

AAnonymous UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, proactively helping with our luggage. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the private onsens offer a high degree of privacy. Each onsen also has its own unique character and is not crowded. I highly recommend the Yakushi-no-Yu. One area for improvement is the lack of blackout curtains in the rooms; I was woken up by the sun around 5 AM. Additionally, regarding the dinner and breakfast plan (one night, two meals), as it features traditional Japanese cuisine, it might not suit all foreign palates. However, for the cultural experience, it's excellent.

AAnonymous UserThe room and the Onsen were EXACTLY like those in the listing and were absolutely stunning! The breakfast was delicious and the range more than adequate. The location is good if you drive but is about 1km walk to Beppu Tower and a bit more from the night street. But I’d happily trade that for the spacious room and the wonderful sea and sunrise view.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located, about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station, just down the alley from Takegawara Onsen. It's surrounded by restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping malls, and is close to the beach and Beppu Tower. Takegawara Onsen offers a sand bath, but I didn't try it again because I'd already tried it in Ibusuki. This is a very traditional Japanese-style hotel, with relatively large tatami rooms. The facilities appear dated, but they are very clean. There are no private showers, so you need to use the communal baths (sitz baths and hot springs). The hotel also has private baths available for reservation and a fee. Daily housekeeping is not included, so you need to leave your trash at the door each day, where it will be collected by staff. Towels and bathrobes are provided for the two days before your stay, and you can pick them up at the front desk if you need more. Since there's no room service, the bed isn't made, so you have to make it yourself. I initially thought it would be a little awkward, but it was surprisingly easy to adapt to. There is a laundry room, which costs 300 yen for unlimited use during your stay, but there are only two washers and dryers, and there's a queue during peak hours. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, answering all my questions. Breakfast is a set meal, and the restaurant staff are also very friendly. The meals are different every day during the three-day stay, which is a plus! Beppu is really comfortable and relaxing. I hope to have the opportunity to come again in the future~

JJunsgI stayed in Beppu for 4 nights, trying different onsens at different hotels.Tsuruta was my last Beppu hotel. Although the room i stayed in is rather dated and items worn out, all necessary equipment are working very well, i stayed at a newer 4.5 star hotel prior and the air-conditioner, hair dryer and toilet exhaust were noisy and faulty, while in the older Tsuruta where everything works well! This don't judge a book by its cover, older hotels is just as good! I've attached a photo of the park and harbour view from my room at Tsuruta.

GGuest UserWhen I arrived the hotel, the two parking lots on the right side of the entrance were occupied but the one on the left side was still vacant. So I temporarily parked there to unload my luggage and then drove away to a nearby public paid carpark. However when I came back, I found the parking space was occupied by a rental car with a Fukuoka license plate and it parked there for the whole night. The instruction sent to us clear said the customer can only use the two parking lots on the right side with “first come first serve” principle. I am wondering what is the left parking space used for? If it is only used for unloading and pickup, then the instruction should clearly mention it. Otherwise it is not fair for the customers that followed the rules and parked their cars to somewhere else.
