Nice Highland get away a mere 30 to 40 mins from KK City centre. Resort has awesome City and Mountain (incl. Mt Kinabalu if skies are clear) views. Rooms and F&B menu are pretty basic. There is no swimming pool or spa. Resort has adequate facilities for small to medium sized events. Resort is fine for couples or those hankering for a cool, clean and quiet place to escape to.

I loved the hotel with its colonial atmosphere, marble entrance floor and bathroom, beautiful, comfortable room. The location is amazing, on the street where the brilliant Saturday night Market is, and the Sunday morning Market as well. Fairly close to the harbour front for amazing sunsets and the fish Market at night- choose your fish and they'll cook it and you eat it there. For these reasons I would definately stay again. There is no cafe or restaurant which is a shame as it would be so fabulous to sit in that lovely entrance area by the paino and have afternoon tea! Also no breakfast there. However 'Old Town' cafe is opposite and very pleasant for breakfast or a snack, and the Japanese restaurant next door is also good if you don't want to go far. The staff are friendly but a bit 'switched off'. It says in the hotel information that tours are offered but the staff say they don't do this. I had to keep asking abut transport information as they felt it wasn't their role to give it! This hotel could easily offer more support to visitors regarding where to go and how to book it. I got more helpful information from the shop assistant I bought clothes from in the shopping mall. 😅

Highly recommended in Kota Kinabalo cheap, Clean and modern, has laundry area just bring your detergent. Good for long term if you’re always out this is no window hotel. The room is good for 3 people the bed is spacious and it has other extra bed which made it more space in the room. The staffs are nice theyre helpful and always ready to help whenever their helped needed. It’s easy to check in you just need to message them via WhatsApp they have their number in the details you will see it after you will book the place. Message them in advance before you arrived atleast a day or hour. Don’t go there without messaging them because they have no lobby. They will send via WhatsApp on how you self check in. The building has a mall so it has restaurants local and western, other asian restaurants, bar, has convenient store, bakery and many more. The hotel is just opposite to fish market. 12 min drive to airport . Very Convenient location. However , we stayed at the top floor , they have a skybar on top of the building . At 11pm++, staff were moving the chair / table , the noise is a bit distracting. Except this , we are quite satisfied with the stay .

The hotel location is excellent. Near weekend night market and Sunday morning market at Gaya street. Also within walking distance from popular seafood restaurants such as Welcome Seafood and kk garden seafood. The swimming pool is 1.4m deep with a kids pool which caters to families with young kids. The buffet spread has good variety of food. The staff are friendly. The only small feedback is that the aircon temperature is too cold which I think it is centrally controlled.

The staff is very nice & efficient. We noted it’s a smoking room after check-in, and the staff arranged another non-smoking room for us as requested upon booking. The swimming pool locates on the rooftop, with a rooftop bar & restaurant. Located near the city center, close to lots of local food & restaurants.

Very good hotel..distance to kk downtown.. Room clean and big..good amenities provided..bed and pillow super comfort..water heater and pressure very high..breakfast spread was good.. Always my first choice hotel in KK and highly recommend

Overall our 2-night stay at Hyatt Centric KK was comfy n relaxing. The lobby n top floor lounge ambience is excellent~feeling of calmness. Rooms are spacious n clean with beautiful sunset seaview. We especially like the bathroom with sitting bench~ a considerate design for guests who prefer to sit n shower. Restaurant staff were very well-mannered n helpful. The hotel is well located just opposite the Sabah Suria shopping mall, so it's very convenient if you wish to dine out or shop around…

Despite being assured of a city view, we were assigned a room overlooking the opposite facing the busy road. While this may seem like a minor issue, it did impact our overall satisfaction, as the promise of a particular view was one of the factors influencing our choice. Another inconvenience was the lack of dedicated parking facilities at the hotel. This meant that my husband had to purchase parking coupons daily, adding an unexpected expense to our stay. Moreover, the strict enforcement of parking regulations by 8 am posed a challenge, especially for guests who preferred to start their day later. In conclusion, Mercure Kota Kinabalu is a decent choice for a short stay, offering comfortable accommodations and friendly service. However, potential guests should be aware of potential discrepancies in room assignments and the absence of on-site parking facilities, which may affect the overall convenience and cost of their stay.
