"Overall, everything is very good. the room is clean, the environment is nice, and free coffee is provided every day. The only small issue is that the exhaust fan in the bathroom is a bit loud. However, I had one unpleasant experience with a female staff member (curly long hair), her customer service attitude was very poor, and she didn’t apologize for her mistake. On the other hand, another male staff member was very friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated."

Breakfast was great, nice continental selection, and a picturesque view from the restaurant. Staff were very friendly and attentive. A potential improvement could be the hot water control in the shower - ours was a Deluxe room with bath. The temperature was either scalding hot or ice cold - there was no in-between."

"Stayed in a six-person female dormitory for my stay here. No qualms here! Of course, there were things like no cover on the top bunks, so light spilled in, but a face mask and ear plugs for sharing with other people is an easy fix for this. Bathroom pretty tiny in the room, but no real issue. The place is super close to the York train station and the Micklegate entrance of the York walls (which you can take into the city centre), so this was awesome! Would stay here again. :)"

"The location is not close to the railway station, although it is not far from the city centre since York is quite small, so most attractions are still within walking distance. Unfortunately, cleanliness was not satisfactory. When using the air conditioner, we could smell dust in the air. The carpet felt dusty, and the towels were not white enough and showed heavy signs of use. The table and cupboard in the room were also quite old-fashioned, and you can clearly feel their age rather than a modern hotel standard. On the positive side, the service was very good. All staff were friendly, and the breakfast staff in particular were very kind and helpful. However, I would not recommend choosing the breakfast-included option. It is overpriced and honestly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve tried in terms of taste. You can easily find much better and more cost-effective breakfast options just outside the hotel within very convenient walking distance. Overall, friendly staff and decent location, but the cleanliness and room condition really need improvement, and the breakfast is not worth the money."

Staff, room and breakfast was lovely, our only critique was there was a wedding reception downstairs which was unfortunately VERY loud and didn’t finish until midnight. The staff were kind and apologetic, however unfortunately meant no sleep until the party was over."
