AAnonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

LLijuan  ♪(^∇^*) This is my third visit this year, and I absolutely love this hotel, even though it's only 30 kilometers from my home. My favorite part is the large balcony, which offers a delightful view of the lake and lush green mountains, with high skies and drifting clouds – it's incredibly peaceful. The evenings are very quiet. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the breakfast at the restaurant is fantastic.

GGuest UserTen years ago, I stayed near Nan Ya Feng Qing Di Yi Cheng (formerly Nan Ya Feng Qing Cheng) in Kunming. This time, I found out that the Novotel I'm familiar with has a branch here. Over a decade ago, this area was just an empty lot! **Hotel Location:** Very convenient for reaching the city center pedestrian street, Haigang Park, and other attractions. There are many restaurants in the surrounding 'Fengqing Street' (style street) and right next to the hotel, making it easy to sample various Yunnan cuisines. **Hotel Facilities:** The room decor maintains a European minimalist style. The hotel is new with great views; street-facing rooms offer a side view of Fengqing City and the urban landscape. The bathroom is equipped with an electronic toilet, and the shower is spacious with excellent water pressure and easy water flow switching. **Breakfast:** A good mix of Chinese and Western options with a rich variety, including local Yunnan specialties like Ersi. **Service:** I was contacted about my check-in time even before arrival, and my room was upgraded. The staff are polite, especially Ms. Annie, who provided warm and thoughtful service and responded promptly to requests. Check-in at the front desk was very quick, and they even arranged a late check-out before I left. As a Novotel member, I always feel very comfortable, secure, and relaxed staying here.

Upon arrival, we were impressed by the hotel's luxurious and grand appearance, both inside and out. The environment, cleanliness, and facilities were excellent. The staff were proactive and welcoming, helping us with our luggage. Our room was lavish and spacious, impeccably clean, and well-stocked with all the essential toiletries and amenities. The breakfast offered a wide and delicious variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. The hotel's location right next to Wanda Plaza is incredibly convenient for visiting all of Kunming's attractions. We, as seniors, thoroughly enjoyed our three-day stay at Wanda Vista Kunming, finding great satisfaction in the dining, accommodation, and transportation aspects. The hotel staff and the service personnel were truly outstanding!

DDiana AldereiWe recently stayed at this hotel with my husband and had quite a mixed experience – some parts were truly lovely, while others left us a bit disappointed. First of all, the villa itself was absolutely beautiful and incredibly spacious. The natural hot spring water was one of the highlights of our stay — such a relaxing and unique experience. The surrounding territory is also well-maintained and very peaceful, perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. However, it’s important to note that the location is quite remote — it took us around an hour to get to places where we could eat or enjoy a cup of coffee. This is understandable considering the mountain setting and access to hot springs. The afternoon tea was decent, and although lunch wasn’t included in our stay, we tried the local mixian noodles and they were absolutely delicious! Must try! Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing, especially for guests like us who don’t eat pork or pork oil - there were very few options. A few maintenance and cleanliness issues also affected our stay. The outdoor pool was not super clean, some insects were swimming there. While we really loved the hot spring bathtub in the villa, the facilities could use a bit more upkeep. The toilet setup was quite basic — a minimum upgrade like a bidet spray or shower toilet would make a big difference, especially for international or Muslim guests. A more distressing part of our stay was that we found dead insects under the blanket in our bed after returning to our room one evening 🥲 I do appreciate the staff’s polite and kind response – they offered tea and explained it may have fallen from the ceiling – but for someone with a strong phobia of insects, this made it difficult to sleep and really affected my comfort. I do believe this is something that should be taken more seriously, especially in a hotel of this level. Despite these issues, the staff was very polite, cute and extremely helpful & friendly, and I can see the potential for a truly magical experience here with just a few improvements. I really wanted to love everything — and part of me did — but I was also happy to go back home, just to feel more comfortable and relaxed.

Parking is exceptionally convenient, with ample spaces available. The rooms are clean, tidy, spacious, and well-lit, making them very comfortable to stay in. They are perfect for families. The prices during the off-season are truly excellent value for money. Special mention must be made of Tara, the front desk attendant, who provided warm and attentive service. The breakfast was also very generous, offering a wide variety of both Chinese and Western-style options, ensuring that both adults and children could enjoy their meals. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and we will choose this place again in the future.

AAnonymous UserI rarely leave reviews, especially negative ones, but staying here made me feel like I got completely ripped off. I booked a two-night package with breakfast, only to find out it was barely a few tens cheaper during the May Day holiday. For 600, I ended up in a glorified budget hotel room with a fancy lobby. The small room was one thing, but I couldn't figure out the 'smart tech' aspect. Besides the direct drinking water and electric curtains, what else was smart about it? There wasn't even a smart toilet. The shower stall was incredibly slippery; I almost fell just from the water, let alone adding shampoo and body wash. I looked everywhere for a non-slip mat, but couldn't find one. Anyone showering barefoot needs to be very careful. In the morning, when I swiped my room card for breakfast, they said I didn't have it. I had to ask the front desk to verify, and they said it wasn't recorded – how can such a basic error happen? When they cleaned the room for our extended stay, the 'dedicated' cleaning staff separated our pushed-together twin beds and left a mysterious piece of cloth on the toilet. The trash can was too small, so my fruit container, which I placed next to the toilet, wasn't taken out either. The air conditioning in the room made occasional noises, probably due to a warped metal vent. When I reported it to the front desk, they knew exactly what I was talking about before I even finished explaining – so they know about the noise but haven't fixed it? I don't understand. The gym and pool are supposedly great, but they weren't a priority for us, so we didn't use them. Anyway, I won't be coming back. I'd rather pay a bit more and stay at an InterContinental.

XXiaotongjoziAn older hotel, a bit outdated in terms of decor, but on the plus side, you don't have to worry about any renovation smells. Back in its day, the hotel quality was definitely top-notch. The location is excellent, right in a prime area. The room was spacious and well-equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. What really stood out was the fantastic service. Gin was very patient and arranged the room according to my requests, and even gave me recommendations for the surrounding area. Highly recommended!
