Sofitel Kunming

Traveling to Kunming with my whole family, we chose to stay at Sofitel, and the entire stay was very pleasant. A big thank you to Mia for her warm service. She was patient during the check-in process and, knowing we were a family traveling together, thoughtfully informed us about the hotel's facilities and nearby conveniences. The room maintenance was excellent, the bathroom facilities were clean and functional, and there was plenty of space, making it comfortable and relaxed for the whole family. The hotel is surrounded by supermarkets and shops, making it very convenient to buy daily necessities. Whenever we needed small things coordinated, Mia was always quick to help. There was no perfunctory service; instead, we felt meticulous care everywhere, which perfectly suited our family's travel needs. I would gladly recommend this hotel to any friends or relatives visiting Kunming in the future.

This is my go-to choice every time I visit Kunming. Each stay arranged by Heidi has been wonderful. I particularly love the hotel's 270-degree corner view rooms. The high-floor panoramic windows offer expansive views, allowing you to see the entire Kunming cityscape right from your room – the urban scenery is completely unobstructed. Even on a rainy or cloudy day in Kunming, it's a different kind of beautiful; the entire city is enveloped in a light mist, and the view outside the window is hazy and atmospheric. Sitting by the window watching the clouds roll in is incredibly relaxing. The hotel's location is excellent, making getting around very convenient. It's very friendly for those driving, as the parking lot has charging stations, so both driving and parking are hassle-free. It's also very close to the high-speed train station, a quick taxi ride away, and getting to Changshui International Airport by taxi is also easy. This makes it suitable for both business travelers and those on a layover. The room itself is comfortable and clean, and the high-altitude view provides an exceptional experience. Whether it's enjoying the panoramic city views on a clear day or the misty spring city scenery on a rainy day, it's uniquely charming. Considering the transportation, facilities, and views, this is my top choice for accommodation in Kunming, and I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommended.

I was upgraded to a better room because the one I booked was still being cleaned. The facilities generally meet five-star standards, but they're clearly showing their age. The lounge and restaurants on the top floors are quite good.

This was my first time staying at the Sofitel Kunming. I booked a 270-degree view king room, but when I arrived, the room wasn't clean yet. So, I went to the Chinese restaurant for dinner. After dinner, as the room still wasn't ready, the restaurant manager, Ava, was very thoughtful and took us to the lobby bar to wait. Once I got into the room, it was clear the hotel has some age to it; it looked a bit old, and the facilities weren't very new. The front desk manager, Amy, proactively checked in on my stay experience and helped me switch to a rarely used suite the next day. At breakfast on the first day, many of the dishes were cold, which needs more attention. Overall, the hardware facilities weren't great, but the service was good.

The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing exceeded expectations – I barely heard any noise from the hallway or outside, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The room featured panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering expansive views from above. Standing by the window, I could overlook the cityscape of Kunming, the 'Spring City,' making for an excellent viewing experience. The hotel's buffet breakfast is served at the high-rise 'Cloud' restaurant, and the variety is extensive. It includes authentic Yunnan specialties like 'Guoqiao Mixian' (Crossing the Bridge Noodles) and flower cakes, as well as a wide selection of Western pastries, cold seafood platters, and freshly ground coffee. The ingredients were fresh, and the quality was top-notch. Heidi provided warm and professional service, making the check-in process efficient and quick, and her attentive care was evident throughout my stay. Overall, the hotel's facilities are excellent, and the service standards perfectly match its five-star positioning. Transportation, views, dining, and sleep experience were all exceptional. The next time I visit Kunming, I will definitely choose this hotel again.
