3-Star Hotels in Kunming

We were planning a weekend trip with our little one around Wanda Plaza, and we stumbled upon this hotel by chance – it seems to be newly opened as I hadn't seen it before. We actually checked out the room upstairs before making a reservation. From viewing the room to checking in, the front desk staff were all very enthusiastic. We loved the room, especially the super-sized bathtub where our child could play in the evening without us worrying about safety. The room was also fully smart-enabled, and our little one kept calling out to 'Xiao T' (the smart assistant). We only stayed one night, but our child loved it so much and kept asking to come back again next time!

The room is very clean, bright and spacious. The facilities are very new, with electric curtains, automatic toilet, and very comfortable pillows, one soft and one hard. The hair conditioner received positive reviews from my sister-in-law, hahaha. There is a clothesline in the shower room, which is convenient. Convenient transportation, very close to the subway station. The service was very good. When checking in, we were given warm chrysanthemum water and hot towels to wipe off the dust from the journey. The breakfast is also good, with a wide variety of Chinese and Western restaurants. I am very satisfied with my stay, and my family members give it high praise. Recommended stay.

I took my mother out for a trip, and the last stop was Kunming. The hotel is in a good location. It costs 12 yuan to take a taxi to Tangzixiang subway station, and then take Line 6 to the airport. I went to Dianchi Lake and took Line 5. The business twin room is very large and the breakfast is very delicious. The hotel is newly renovated and the facilities are very new. I originally planned to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tangzixiang, which has a better location, but in terms of cost performance, this one is much cheaper, and the extra money I spent on the taxi can be ignored

The location is unbeatable, right on the second floor of the terminal building. You can take the glass elevator next to Gate 5 directly to the front desk. The front desk staff were excellent, very enthusiastic and efficient, highly recommend them! The room was spotless and met my cleanliness standards, perfect for a germaphobe like me. It’s ideal for a layover if you have an early morning or late night flight. Highly recommended!

We had such a lovely stay here with my family during our first trip to Kunming. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, warm and helpful. They kindly helped us with our luggage, carried everything up the stairs, and personally showed us to our room. They even gave us a short tour and explained everything we needed to know. Throughout our stay, they were always ready to assist whenever we needed anything, no matter the time of day. We truly appreciate the hospitality and kindness shown to us. The staff made our stay so pleasant and comfortable, and we are leaving with such a wonderful impression of the hotel. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us. We’re already excited to come back to Kunming and stay here again! ❤️

The room was spacious and the environment was clean. The front desk lady was very enthusiastic. At first, I thought they only offered airport pick-up service, but she proactively asked if I needed airport drop-off the next day. I didn't even know they offered a service to drop off luggage, so I asked her to arrange for it to be sent to the airport. From there, I took the subway from the airport to Kunming Railway Station, which was incredibly convenient. I had seen some reviews mentioning it was noisy due to being close to the airport, but I found it very quiet all night and slept soundly. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time.

Booked a queen room, but upon arrival, they said it was an 'event room,' which was small and located at the very edge. The first person quoted 49 for an upgrade, then someone else said 20-something, and we ended up paying 20-something extra just to get a proper room! I've stayed at so many Hanting hotels across the country, and this is the first time I've been asked for extra money right off the bat! And the price even changed! What a scam! If my client wasn't so close, I definitely wouldn't have stayed for two nights! Oh, and on the second night, they still tried to charge more!

Back in Kunming that evening, we skipped the queues and enjoyed the top-rated braised chicken feet barbecue. The overly friendly and enthusiastic landlady, who was almost prone to swearing, provided a wonderful final dinner for us, who were starving after a long day. Finally, we returned to our last resting place – a super luxurious mansion with an entrance garden, swimming pool, sauna, tea room, gym, entertainment room… Rangrang's carefully selected homestays truly made this trip a perfect ending! The exhausting part was that I had to cut my vacation short by a day for work, getting up at 5 am to catch my flight. The result was exactly the same as years ago when I returned to work after jet lag – I overslept the next day, hahaha! Just like in that dream.

This is our second time staying at this hotel in Kunming, and both times we've chosen it for my elderly parents. It's incredibly convenient for visiting Dianchi Lake, and it's been recently renovated, looking even better than before with a charming, antique feel. It's very photogenic! The owner, front desk staff, and concierge were all incredibly helpful. The first room wasn't quite comfortable, so they immediately moved us to another. My parents have trouble sleeping, and they were very accommodating, switching us to a twin room. The owner even turned out to be from the same hometown as us and kindly offered free tea. We felt very at ease during our three-day stay. It's also convenient for visiting Shilin (Stone Forest). I highly recommend staying here for your travels.

The first time I visited Kunming in 2003, I stayed at the Jinhua International Hotel. I chose it for its excellent location, convenient transport options for non-drivers, and a wide variety of dining choices nearby. I've stayed here several times since, with my most recent visit being during the COVID-19 outbreak in春节 2020. This time, I noticed a significant improvement in room hygiene and the hardware facilities. Unfortunately, the service from some front desk staff was truly disappointing. They knew that room cards needed to be reset daily after 12 PM but failed to inform guests during check-in. This meant guests had to go up and down multiple times to get it sorted, which is particularly inconvenient since several floors of the building house other offices, requiring a wait for the elevator. During one such instance, I even experienced an elevator malfunction where it went up and down erratically with the doors slightly ajar. As for the TV, only one news channel is free; all others are pay-per-view.
