"My youngest child is a student at Korea Maritime & Ocean University, so my family visits Yeongdo every quarter for a trip and school matters. We usually stay in Yeongdo, but this time we looked for accommodations in Songdo, which is closer to the university, and ended up at First Ocean. First of all, the visual of the ocean spread out before you is amazing. While the Yeongdo accommodations also had great views of Hari Port, Songdo offers a different kind of scenery. Being a tourist area, there are plenty of dining options nearby, and we even got a discount on the cable car – we really enjoyed the vacation vibe. The facilities are clean, and the self-check-in, which allows you to enter anytime, saved us waiting time, which was all great. Regarding parking, since my car is an SUV, it was a bit tighter than the Yeongdo accommodations, but the parking attendant made sure we had a spot for our two-night stay, which was a big plus. Since we come here often, we definitely plan to stay here again next time."

"Facilities: Brand new. Cleanliness: Spotless. Environment: Even the most basic rooms offer a partial ocean view! Despite being near the bridge, it's incredibly quiet—no noise at all. Plus, it's very close to Songdo Cable Car and the beach. Downstairs, there's a convenience store (which also sells fresh produce) and a coffee shop. Service: The front desk had staff who spoke Chinese, and the greeters were always smiling. My requests, sent via email beforehand, were met as much as possible. Breakfast: Purchased separately, at a discount from the listed price: 50,000 KRW per person, payable via WeChat. The best part is the restaurant itself has an ocean view! The breakfast spread was incredibly rich; my favorite was the honey-roasted chicken wings—absolutely delicious. The vegetable pancake was also amazing, though sadly, it was the last piece available. The coffee beans could use an upgrade, especially since the milk was so good, haha. Overall, this hotel offers fantastic value for money. I would definitely stay here again."

"The ocean view, hotel location, and accessibility were all very satisfying, but everything else was a really disappointing experience. First, when I opened the refrigerator, there was leftover ice cream from the previous guest, and the wine glasses I took out to use also had visible water stains that clearly weren't from cleaning. While I can overlook the towels to some extent, they still had yellowish stains in several spots. The great view and location are huge advantages, but it makes me wonder if they're relying too much on those strengths and neglecting proper maintenance. I didn't expect a super luxurious hotel, but from the bathroom to various other areas, it just looks like a renovated motel. There were no complimentary amenities provided either (I'm not sure if they're for purchase). If the view hadn't been good, I would have asked for a refund after paying over 300,000 won. But the view really was excellent."

"Situated directly in front of Gwangalli Beach, the hotel's location alone is enough to make it truly satisfying. The room windows offer breathtaking ocean views, and it was incredibly convenient to wake up and head straight out for a morning stroll along the beach. I particularly recommend the ocean view rooms. Being able to relax to the soothing sound of the waves put me in a fantastic mood throughout my entire trip."

"Beautiful hotel, the room is clean. Not much to say on the hotel. That is five star for me. For this reason I will focus my review on the “extra” services. Very good the presence of the rooftop pool, they have two pools. The big one had cold water (too cold to be used) and the small one had hot water. They also have a small gym in the basement, good idea. There is a laundry room but the washing machine was broken (that is what they told me) I also want to mention the bar they have inside the hotel (GROTTO bar). The barman is very nice, very professional. The drink were very well made. BUT I was really annoyed by the menu. In every korean business you can see full prices (like 4500 won) or prices divided by 1000 (e.g. 4500 -＞ 4.5 ). At grotto bar, the prices of the drinks are listed as “1.6”, so I thought 1.6 = 1600 won. I know it is veeeery cheap, but I also thought it was a way to offer a service to the hotel, with very cheap drink prices. At the end, when I paid I found out that 1.6 was equal to 16.000 and not 1600 like any other shop in korea. Why can’t you just write “16” on the menu? I find this almost like a way to “scam” customers. I find no logic, why would you write 1.6 and expect the person who buys the drink multiplies by 10.000 while ANY other korean business always multiplies by 1000. Just fix this, it is total non sense, very unprofessional."

"The room was great and booking was super easy. After arriving in Busan by KTX, I took a taxi to the hotel. The entrance was easy to find. I just showed the front desk my email confirmation code, filled out a form, and then checked in. (A note on the form: they require a credit card for the deposit, but since I didn't have a Visa or similar card, I just paid 100,000 Korean Won, which was refunded immediately upon check-out). There are time restrictions for early check-in, but the check-in and check-out times are clearly stated in the email, and the front desk staff also confirmed them when I arrived. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and enthusiastic! ❤️ The hotel is just a short walk to the beach. You can also take the Crystal Cable Car for scenic views. I booked this hotel last minute, so all the ocean-view rooms were taken, but even our city-view room offered a glimpse of the sea. There's a convenience store downstairs, as well as local eateries, which was really handy."

"We had an amazing stay at Kent Hotel Gwangalli by Kensington and highly recommend it for couples. The location is absolutely perfect — situated right in front of Gwangalli Beach, offering uninterrupted views of the ocean and the stunning Gwangan Bridge. Waking up to the sea and watching the night lights from the room made the experience really memorable. The area around the hotel is lively yet relaxing. There are many popular restaurants, cafés, and dessert spots within easy walking distance, so we never had to travel far for good food or a cozy place to hang out. Whether we wanted brunch, seafood, or coffee by the beach, everything was just a short stroll away. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and comfortable, with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. We also loved the convenience of having a 24-hour convenience store right on the first floor — perfect for snacks, drinks, and last-minute necessities. Overall, it was the ideal base for a romantic beach getaway in Busan. We would definitely stay here again!"

"In terms of value for money, the hotel is decent. The interior is pleasant and modern; it seems new, but it is no longer perfectly clean. In my room, for example, the toilet seat cover was taped with duct tape, there were splashes on the walls in some places, and stains on the ceiling. However, the rooms are cleaned well, towels are changed every day, and if you ask not to be disturbed, they leave everything you need in a basket outside your room. The hotel is very conveniently located for a short visit to Busan (up to 3-4 days), close to the train station and between the main attractions (it takes about the same amount of time to get to each direction). The trains were not audible in the room, and overall the hotel is quite quiet. I had a spacious room where I could open my suitcase normally, but there was still not enough storage space (at least more hangers for clothes are needed). There are also no cutlery in the room, which is a minus. There is a clothes styler - something like a steaming closet, which turned out to be convenient, as I didn't need an iron. The pool area is relaxing, you can take beautiful photos, and the water is warm. I didn't like the breakfasts. On weekdays, they are served à la carte, the selection is modest, and the coffee is not tasty. There are many coffee shops and cafes around the hotel, so it's better to go there. I was very surprised that upon check-in, they asked for a deposit of 100,000 won (or a card). In 10 years of active travel, I have never encountered this anywhere in hotels especially without notification."

"I had a great experience here. Worthy with the price. I have read reviews before I booked and I seriously think those who expects a 5 stars treatment for a 3 stars payment shouldn’t book here. After reading reviews.. 1) I am totally okay with changing lifts and managed my expectations. 2) I brought my own bedroom slippers but amazing they provided, just that it’s not disposable versions and I think that’s totally fine because it’s clean. 3) I brought own toothbrush and toothpaste because I know they won’t provide. 4) I brought own shower gel etc. too but to my surprise, they did provide! Not as per what I’ve read (as per photos) 5) I was also given large towels and was informed during check in that we need to request if we need more and that’s not a problem. Just open mouth to ask for one. 6) I requested and had a reasonable half beach view (cropped photo) as per uploaded image. Take note, however, 1) that the make-up room and do-not-disturb room buttons can be faulty.. the cleaner came into my room when I didn’t request for my room to be cleaned when I am away from hotel room, but thank goodness nothing was missing. So they actually have honest staff. 2) you do not need a card to access higher levels so anyone can come up. Ladies traveling alone has to be extra careful. Overall, I’m so glad to give a great thumbs up for 1) a half beach view 2) convenience stores just downstairs 3) so so near to night market !! 4) walkable distance to the Haeundae metro station 5) room is so spacious for 2pax. I will come again when I visit Busan. Thank you!"
