"The B&B's location is fantastic; you can drive right up to the entrance, and getting around is super convenient. It's just a short walk west to the old town's core, but the soundproofing is excellent, so it truly offers a peaceful retreat despite being in a lively area. The owner has great taste and an eye for aesthetics. The courtyard is spotless, and they offer a breakfast set. Guests are also very considerate. For this location and price, it's definitely a good deal. Highly recommended! However, in summer, you do need to be mindful of humidity and mosquitoes. But the owner provided mosquito repellent and an electric mosquito swatter, and surprisingly, we had no issues at all at night. We even turned mosquito hunting into a fun game, which my kid absolutely loved!"

"Located right in front of ErHai and its view is simply amazing. It’s located near the main road which means Didi car can pick up with no issue. Coffee and tea are offered at the lobby. Basic amenities are provided in the room. Check in/out is fast and any query can be addressed via WeChat. The toilet glass wall is translucent and though having blinds can kind of see the others’ shadow clearly when in use. The only cons is having to go up down the stairs 4 level every day which is inconvenient for elderly. But overall it’s a recommended stay."

"Before coming to Dali, I looked at many hotels and guesthouses, a ton of reviews and pictures, and finally chose this one. After actually staying here, I feel like I made the right choice, and my previous concerns were completely unnecessary. The rooms, lobby, and courtyard facilities all look new, like they've been recently renovated. While they might not be super 'glamorous,' there's no sense of being old or dated, which is exactly the vibe I like. The room was very clean, and the bedding and bathroom facilities were all very comfortable. The location is in an alley next to Renmin Road, and you can walk out to the main street in just 10 seconds. It's super convenient for dining, drinking, and shopping. However, when you return to the guesthouse at night, it's incredibly quiet, not noisy at all, which is so important for travelers. From the upstairs terrace, you can see the panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and the ancient city. Both the sunrise and night views are breathtakingly beautiful. For this price, in the core area of the ancient city, it's truly excellent value. The photos are consistent with the actual place, no 'photo trickery.' The owner is also very warm and hospitable. They reminded us to bring an umbrella when it rained and to wear sunscreen when it was sunny. Overall, this guesthouse gives you a beautiful sense of being nestled in the ancient city's vibrant life while experiencing its poetic charm. I would definitely recommend it to friends!"

"Traveling with my child to Dali, this guesthouse was our first stop. Its location is excellent, very close to the main street of East Gate. The design is clever, the rooms are spacious, and the layout is well-planned. What really won my child over were the three chubby cats at the guesthouse! The front desk staff were the absolute best – warm, thoughtful, and gave us so many helpful tips for sightseeing. When we left, they even gave my child a fridge magnet. It was a wonderful experience, and we'll definitely stay here again!"

"During peak season in Dali, hotels are quite expensive. Since I was on a business trip, I chose a hotel close to the train station, and it turned out to be a great choice. First, the location is super convenient, just a 6-7 minute walk from the train station, easily accessible by crossing a pedestrian bridge. The train station also has buses going to the ancient city. Plus, that pedestrian bridge area is a transportation hub with many public transport routes. Second, the hotel is very clean, and the rooms are excellent, even better than some older five-star hotels I've stayed in. Third, there's a laundry room on the second floor with both washers and dryers, which is perfect for long-term travelers, especially during the summer."

"The rooms and facilities are just so-so, nothing special. The hotel is located across from Dali Port, so the view is alright, but it doesn't really stand out compared to other hotels and guesthouses right on Erhai Lake. If you don't book a lake-view room, you won't see anything. And the lake-view rooms face the street, so you'll hear loud motorcycles at night. The location is actually quite far from places like Dali Ancient City, the Three Pagodas, and Xizhou Ancient Town. Even the closest destination is about a 40-minute taxi ride, and the farther ones can take nearly two hours – and that's assuming no traffic jams, which are pretty much guaranteed in this area. Before booking, I saw several recent reviews mentioning free room upgrades. I didn't get one, and they didn't even ask. I quietly checked the available upgraded rooms myself, but whatever. The only positive highlight was the butler service; they were very attentive and sent lots of information. However, that one good impression was ultimately ruined by the front desk. I had told the butler that my child needed to sleep, so we'd check out an hour later, and the butler had even noted it down. Yet, right at 12 PM, they called me to check out! I had to explain that the butler had already arranged an extension, and only then did they say they'd check. Don't you people look at these requests? What's the point of having a butler then?"

The cleaning staff cleaned daily, and the room was odor-free. Service: The butler service was attentive and responsive. Public areas were elegant and clean with pleasant diffusers, and there was a self-service area for water and amenities."

"I felt incredibly warm and welcomed during this trip, all thanks to choosing this hotel. The owner is super enthusiastic and thoughtful, taking care of us like friends from check-in to check-out. They offered a lot of practical sightseeing tips. The room was even cleaner and tidier than I expected, and quite classy. The mattress and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, truly alleviating travel fatigue. It's been chilly in Dali recently, and quite cold at night, but the air conditioning in the large room was excellent at heating; the moment we stepped in, it was toasty warm, so no worries about catching a cold. The hotel's location is also ideal, quiet yet close to the action. The courtyard design is very comfortable and feels high-end; stepping into it gives off a grand vibe. The room design is truly unique and very comfortable. It’s very convenient to walk to the ancient city, and the alleys hide many hidden gem shops and restaurants. The owner recommended lots of authentic local rice noodle snacks, which we happily enjoyed every day. This is a hotel with warmth and attention to detail. I highly recommend it to friends visiting Dali; you'll love it so much, you won't want to leave, just like me."

"Ambiance: If you're staying in a waterside room, Shuanglang is the place to be. You're literally living in the scenery; what you see is what you get. Amenities: Dyson hairdryer, bathtub with a cover and milk bubble bath. The floor-to-ceiling windows really highlight the view. The bedding is also excellent, very comfortable to sleep in. Cleanliness: Extremely clean. Service: Although there's no elevator, our butler, Liu Jin, was incredibly strong and helpful. He carried our luggage to and from the parking lot during both check-in and check-out. Very thoughtful. Travel Photography Experience: The travel photography here is amazing, mainly because the scenery is so beautiful – perfect for photos. Guests get a few complimentary shots, but the photos are so good that it's hard not to pay for more. Goodnight Dessert: We stayed for two days, and the sweet soups were different each night and both delicious. Souvenirs: Rose brown sugar, a favorite with the kids. Breakfast: The rice noodles for breakfast are delicious, highly recommend them."

"What I liked about the hotel: I chose it because it's an American brand hotel, and I figured their operating principles would be more standardized. The location is excellent; you can take bus 8 directly from the high-speed rail station and it drops you right at the entrance. We used public transport to visit several attractions in Xiaguan, which was a relaxed way to travel without the crowds. Getting to Dali Ancient City, climbing Cangshan Mountain, and seeing Erhai Lake by taxi was also very convenient. What I didn't like 👎: The no-smoking signs were scarce and not prominent enough; this needs improvement. For example, the signs were small, the message was unclear, and they were placed in inconspicuous locations. The ashtrays integrated into the trash cans by the elevators are misleading and implicitly suggest that smoking is allowed. Non-smokers always outnumber smokers, so I hope the hotel will enhance its brand quality and strictly enforce smoking control measures. Otherwise, it will continue to be criticized for hypocrisy. Personal tip: When taking a taxi, choosing a female driver can reduce the frequency of exposure to second-hand smoke."
