No. 1 of Luxury Hotels in Dali City
Dream Island • Huo Mountain is a resort hotel that has grown from the red land, embodying the aesthetics of life, local culture, art, and architectural design. It is also a time vessel, the result of 12 years of dedication by its architect and owner, Baxun. Dream Island began in 2020 as a small-scale hotel next to the Erhai Lake, with just 7 rooms. In 2021, Dream Island • Huo Mountain briefly emerged with 9 rooms. After four years of reconstruction, it has now evolved into a vacation paradise rooted in the soul of the land, offering 23 rooms. This is not a cold, luxurious space, but rather an experiment in cultural awakening, artistic appreciation, and life healing.

"This hotel was a great choice for our multi-week road trip, even if the drive up the mountain was indeed challenging, it was worth it. The design, quality, service, and dining were all excellent in every aspect. The attention to detail was exceptional, surpassing even some international luxury brands. To have such thoughtful and delicious food in a mountain setting like this is truly rare. It's also clear that the local staff are very well-trained. A few small suggestions: Personally, even for a secluded, getaway-style hotel, not having a TV in the room can be a bit boring. You could have one – whether guests watch it or not, at least they'd have the option (perhaps for casting). I hope that next time we visit, the road will be improved, and mosquito screens will be installed in the rooms so we can confidently open the windows and enjoy the mountain air. Because we love it, we hope it becomes even more perfect."

The Pullman Dali is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Pullman Dali offers a pleasant stay in Dali City for those traveling for business or leisure. The hotel is only 3km from Dali Railway Station and 14km from Dali Fengyi Airport, giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. Keeping busy is easy, with Erhai Lake Cruise, Thrive Bridge and Lock Water Pavilion Square all nearby. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. This Dali City hotel offers parking on site. When it comes to Dali City hotels, the Pullman Dali is highly regarded for its excellent facilities. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"The rooms and facilities are just so-so, nothing special. The hotel is located across from Dali Port, so the view is alright, but it doesn't really stand out compared to other hotels and guesthouses right on Erhai Lake. If you don't book a lake-view room, you won't see anything. And the lake-view rooms face the street, so you'll hear loud motorcycles at night. The location is actually quite far from places like Dali Ancient City, the Three Pagodas, and Xizhou Ancient Town. Even the closest destination is about a 40-minute taxi ride, and the farther ones can take nearly two hours – and that's assuming no traffic jams, which are pretty much guaranteed in this area. Before booking, I saw several recent reviews mentioning free room upgrades. I didn't get one, and they didn't even ask. I quietly checked the available upgraded rooms myself, but whatever. The only positive highlight was the butler service; they were very attentive and sent lots of information. However, that one good impression was ultimately ruined by the front desk. I had told the butler that my child needed to sleep, so we'd check out an hour later, and the butler had even noted it down. Yet, right at 12 PM, they called me to check out! I had to explain that the butler had already arranged an extension, and only then did they say they'd check. Don't you people look at these requests? What's the point of having a butler then?"

"The room was fantastic, offering a 140-degree sea view that captured half of Erhai Lake. Every morning, drawing the curtains revealed a beautiful tripartite panorama of sky, sea, and land, with shades of grey and blue perfectly blending together—a truly visually awakening experience! Traveling with elderly parents and children, we opted for twin beds. The room wasn't huge, but the amenities were incredibly comprehensive. The wet/dry separation and built-in bathtub design were very thoughtful. The sliding-door vanity mirror was also a clever touch; whenever you wanted, you could face Erhai Lake while getting ready! The service was even more attentive. Before we even got to the hotel entrance from the car, the lobby staff were already at our vehicle, checking if we had luggage, and immediately helped us take it to our room. The smart robot delivery also ensured precise point-to-point delivery for our takeout. The second-floor hotel lobby was spacious and cozy, exuding an undeniable sophisticated charm. Sitting there for a few minutes to enjoy the view was an excellent experience. Hidden within the surrounding villa area were several unique local restaurants; remember to search for them on review apps so you don't miss out. Finally, I have to praise the lovely front desk lady. Knowing I collect room key cards, she gave me a complete set of local-themed ones along with a luggage tag charm—they were beautiful! Indigo is definitely a great choice!"

Dali Taoxi Mengdie Secret Manor,Nurtured by the exquisite landscapes of Cangshan’s Peach Stream, it is an upscale resort manor integrating life aesthetics, local culture and natural healing. Crafted by the owner over more than a decade alongside one of the Eighteen Streams of Cangshan, it stands as a vessel of time and a spiritual sanctuary. "Zhuangzi Dreamed of Butterflies; dwell in the Peach Blossom Land. Here you reclaim the poetry and freedom between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake." Polished through years of refinement, it has evolved from an original secluded mountain retreat into an exclusive hideaway that embraces traditional Chinese culture and local spirit, blending wild luxury with private hot springs. Every corner of the estate is bathed in the breeze of Cangshan, the moonlight of Erhai Lake, and the earthly poetic charm of Dali. This is no sterile luxury hotel, but an immersive local experience centered on natural healing, cultural immersion and spiritual awakening. Rise early for a hike into Cangshan Mountain, listen to the gurgling Peach Stream, and watch sea of clouds drift over pine forests. Spend the afternoon sipping authentic Dali tea in the Zen courtyard, as sunlight and shadow linger upon Bai ethnic wood carvings. At night, fall asleep to mountain breezes, with a sky full of stars twinkling overhead. Tucked away in lush gardens, our guest rooms infuse Bai ethnic intangible cultural heritage, local art, yoga meditation and natural healing into every moment of your stay. Every guest may cast aside weariness amid mountains and rivers, find inner peace in cultural nourishment, and reconnect with oneself through healing serenity. At Taoxi Mengdie, what you encounter is far more than a manor—it is the most authentic way of life in Dali. With Cangshan as your backdrop and the Three Pagodas as your mirror, mountains and rivers as your neighbors and poetry as your constant companion, this is an ideal abode where everyday life turns into a poem.

"Pros: Great location, new rooms, good privacy, and enthusiastic staff. Areas for improvement: 1. The hotel needs to clarify its positioning. If it's a high-end family-friendly hotel, then the kids' programs need to be well-developed to keep children engaged. If it's positioned as a high-end resort for adults, then there should be clear restrictions on young children to ensure public areas, including restaurants, remain quiet and orderly. For a hotel at this price point, the environment should meet guests' expectations. 2. Improve accessibility for self-driving guests. All three roads leading in and out of the hotel are single-lane, making it incredibly difficult to pass oncoming vehicles. My car was scratched on the way out. 3. Service details need improvement. One day, we returned to our room at 1 PM to find it hadn't been cleaned. On another day, around 3 PM, we found standing water on the bathroom floor – I'm not sure how the cleaning staff managed that. We had three people staying, but only ever received two bath towels. The restaurant staff lacked experience and weren't attentive enough. When settling the bill, they never asked if I had any discount vouchers (which resulted in me paying full price for 4 out of 5 meals, charged to the room, and non-modifiable)."

"Overall, the hotel is pretty good, from the service to the environment. The only drawback is that it's inconvenient to go out for meals. The hotel offers car service, but it actually costs extra, and the driver might recommend some self-funded attractions. Out of trust in the driver, I went to Zhangjia Garden only to find the 90-yuan entrance fee wasn't really worth it. So, it's essential to do more research before you go. There was also a minor flaw: the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, which was a bit uncomfortable. Welcome amenities (tea, snacks): Yes One room, one car, one travel butler (free car service within 30km): This service is indeed available."

We bring you cozy, pleasant moments and diverse lifestyles all throughout your journey.

"We absolutely loved our stay at Mengjing Yayuan. For context, we usually stay at 5 star hotels when traveling internationally. The location of Mengjing Yayuan was hard to beat, as it is quite literally a block away from the entrance of Dali Ancient City and the reviews were great, so we decided to book. It is more of a boutique style hotel, but with very good management, facilities, and amenities. The air conditioning in our room was modern/updated and worked very well, which was great since that's not always the case in China. Communication with the front desk/reception was very easy through Wechat, and any requests were fulfilled very quickly and happily. I speak Chinese, but I don't think it would have been much of a problem if I didn't given the in-built translation on Wechat. They also provide a free laundry service, which was invaluable! Breakfast was simple, but delicious and filling. You choose a cooked noodle dish out of several options that's made fresh for you, and also have a buffet available, so there was something for even pickier eaters. Overall, lovely stay and we would totally come back for our next visit!"
