"This hotel was a great choice for our multi-week road trip, even if the drive up the mountain was indeed challenging, it was worth it. The design, quality, service, and dining were all excellent in every aspect. The attention to detail was exceptional, surpassing even some international luxury brands. To have such thoughtful and delicious food in a mountain setting like this is truly rare. It's also clear that the local staff are very well-trained. A few small suggestions: Personally, even for a secluded, getaway-style hotel, not having a TV in the room can be a bit boring. You could have one – whether guests watch it or not, at least they'd have the option (perhaps for casting). I hope that next time we visit, the road will be improved, and mosquito screens will be installed in the rooms so we can confidently open the windows and enjoy the mountain air. Because we love it, we hope it becomes even more perfect."

"We chose Coco as our butler for our trip to Dali, and the hotel was a pleasant surprise! Check-in at the front desk was efficient and quick, and the staff were incredibly helpful, even offering thoughtful advice on travel routes and reminding us about the tidal lane in advance, which made our self-drive smooth and safe. The guest room was meticulously cleaned, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent – I slept soundly until morning. The hotel is close to the ancient city, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. Both the facilities and services are top-notch. I truly recommend it to all travelers."

"First time vacationing in Dali, and after a long search for accommodation in Haidong, I finally settled on Indigo. The 180° sea view room exceeded my expectations, with an open view directly facing Erhai Lake. The lounge bed by the window was very practical; it was so pleasant to just sit there, enjoy the lake view, and sip tea. The breakfast also offered many Yunnan specialty snacks, which I'd give a big thumbs up to. Lucy Luo's service was just right, making for a very comfortable experience. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Dali."

"We booked the private manor villa come with private bath pool and private courtyard. However both private pool and courtyard are surprisingly disappointed. The pool was dirty, moldy, there was just left over water inside maybe by the rain, it had a greyish , murky appearance instead of being clean and inviting. When we questioned the butler he then said if you wanted to use we can clean it up.  One of the main reasons we paid extra to book this room was for the private pool, it’s frustrating and disappointing that it was not in a condition we felt comfortable using. Ended up we didn’t use it despite staying for 3 nights.  The courtyard was poorly maintained and look neglected as well. As you can see all cushion was exposed under the rain and when sun comes out it dried it which caused the cushion get mold and stains. Service overall not bad and helpful. The only incident was when during check in, my wife asked one of the receptionist  politely if they could help me make a booking as the place need call to book. We do not have China number , line that can call or app to book. The lady that was serving us was hesitant to book for me and initially told us to book online ourselves until my wife highlighted the reason to her again. Public place is well maintained, location is good. Walkable distance to ancient town. Also nearby to few other must visit spots.  Overall decent but won’t be coming back."

"The hotel's location is excellent. The lobby is on the fifth floor, and the view from there was truly stunning. The room was spacious and new. We chose a sea-view room, and the distant view of Erhai Lake was absolutely beautiful. We arrived at the hotel around 8 PM, and people were already gathered around a bonfire on the lawn downstairs, happily dancing to music. A special shout-out to our butler, who was incredibly dedicated. Whenever we had an issue, they would go above and beyond to help us find a solution – we were really touched. Next time I visit Dali, I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again."

"A truly perfect trip! Here, I enjoyed sunny weather, stunning Erhai Lake views, and a fantastic large balcony. The room layout, including the full-length mirror, was exceptionally beautiful. What sets this hotel apart from others in Ideal State is its deep commitment to the Santorini, Greece-style design. While some other places might only have an exterior that fits the theme, with very ordinary interiors, this hotel extends that Greek Santorini vibe to both its facade and inside the rooms. You can even watch the sunset from bed! And the next morning, with a bit of luck, I captured some amazing 'blue hour' photos. The butler and hotel service were incredibly attentive; basically, anything I needed, the butler would take care of. The afternoon tea, with ginger-syrup drizzled waffles and other delicious treats, was also perfectly to my liking. Actually, I fell in love with this room when I first saw the hotel six months ago (yes, I even preferred it over others with pools!). So, I saved up and finally came today, half a year later. What can I say? I feel incredibly lucky. The weather forecast had predicted cloudy and rainy days for Dali, but the moment I arrived, it cleared up and stayed sunny until I checked out. Plus, it wasn't too crowded when I visited (it might be peak season later on). In short, I highly recommend it! If you're planning a trip to Ideal State, definitely come to this hotel and stay in this room!"

"Had a fantastic stay in Dali! The hotel's location is perfect, right outside the main entrance of the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. It's a quiet oasis despite being so central. The room was clean, tidy, and soundproof, so I slept really well. "On my first day in Dali, I checked into the Yueshanhai Hotel, nestled in the mountains near the ancient city. With a gentle drizzle and fresh air, a stroll through the garden was utterly delightful. The hotel boasts excellent facilities, including a swimming pool, gym, restaurant, cafe, bar, book bar, and even billiards. On the third floor of Building 1, you'll find the Akashima Seaview Bar and the Seaview Book Bar, offering stunning views of the mountains and Erhai Lake. Don't forget to wake up early to catch the sunrise! The guest rooms are spacious and bright, with comfortable bedding. The Herbal toiletries and bathtub for a relaxing soak after a long day of exploring are absolutely wonderful! Breakfast, served on the first floor of Building 2 at the Baini Restaurant, offers a rich variety of Chinese and Western options. The rice noodles with braised pork and Weishan stewed pork are incredibly fragrant and delicious!"

"The hotel is spotless and incredibly quiet and comfortable. The service was absolutely outstanding! Every staff member was dedicated and super friendly to guests. My child experienced altitude sickness for the first time in Yunnan, and the hotel immediately provided oxygen and even offered to accompany us to the doctor. The breakfast was delicious, and room service was very efficient. I highly, highly recommend this place. Before we left, they even gave a small gift to my child. Seriously, I can't recommend this quality hotel enough; it's truly trustworthy."

"I found this hotel in Dali on Trip.com for our family trip to Yunnan. We drove from Kunming to Dali, and the Kunchu-Dali Expressway was easy to navigate, though the tolls were a bit pricey, over a hundred yuan. Once we arrived in Dali, we followed the navigation on National Highway 214 and found the hotel easily. It's located on the downhill slope of Cangshan Mountain, directly facing Erhai Lake. You can see Erhai Lake from the room and enjoy the fresh air of Cangshan. Check-in was straightforward; the front desk already had our room ready. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade this time. Our room was on the second floor and had a balcony. Sitting on the balcony, sipping tea, chatting, and enjoying the breeze was absolutely delightful. The room was clean and tidy. We booked a twin room, and the beds were very large, easily accommodating three people. There was also a big sofa in the room that could be used as an extra bed. The room was bright, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing us to sleep in every day. The hotel breakfast cost 98 yuan per person; we tried it, and it was decent. There aren't many entertainment facilities at the hotel, so if you're looking for that, you might want to consider elsewhere. The hotel offers an electric shuttle service to the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple and the Cangshan Gate of Dali Ancient City, but we didn't get to use it this time. The reason was that the hotel only has one shuttle, and it was already booked when we wanted to use it. We would have had to wait an hour. So, in the end, we had to take a taxi to the Ancient City. Also, the sliding door in the bathroom of our room couldn't close properly, leaving a large gap that let in light. On the bright side, the hotel provided a complimentary shawl, free mini-bar drinks, and welcome fruit, which was a nice touch. Despite a few minor flaws, I would still choose this hotel again for my next visit."
