AAlina0115This time, my sister and I visited Suzhou again and booked this hotel 🏨. We stayed here last year, and both the environment and service were excellent! So, we chose to stay here again. The hotel 🏨 is conveniently located right on Pingjiang Road. After checking in, you also get two complimentary tickets to a Pingtan teahouse 🆓. Last time, we had a king-size room, and this time we got a twin room. There's even a rocking chair in the room that my sister found so comfortable she didn't want to go out sightseeing! The hotel 🏨 room rate includes breakfast, and both the braised pork noodles and braised beef noodles were delicious. After breakfast, we took a nice stroll along Pingjiang Road!

GGuest UserI received a call from the hotel in advance, and Cherry helped me arrange a room upgrade. The overall experience far exceeded my expectations, with a unique and elegant view overlooking the Gusu homes, truly capturing the essence of the Jiangnan water town. The suite was spacious with clear divisions; the living room and bedroom were independently separated. The new Chinese-style design was simple and refined, with wooden furniture, soft furnishings, and small Suzhou-style ornaments, exuding delicate elegance everywhere. The entire room was spotlessly clean with no unpleasant odors. The bathroom had a dry/wet separation, and the toiletries were of excellent quality, equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and a highly comfortable mattress, providing a strong sense of home comfort. The most remarkable feature was the elevated viewing angle from the second floor, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows connecting to a private viewing balcony, allowing me to take in the entire courtyard water system. Sparkling pond water flowed around white walls and black tiles, with bamboo and small bridges scattered throughout. In the distance, the staggered Gusu folk houses with their layered black tiles blended the lively atmosphere of the water town with the tranquility of the gardens; every step offered a poetic scene. In the afternoon, I pulled up a chair on the balcony to sit and relax. The breeze accompanied the sound of flowing water, isolating me from the outside world's hustle and bustle, healing all my travel fatigue. In the morning, a thin mist spread over the water, transforming the houses and gardens into a watercolor painting; in the evening, the setting sun cast its gentle light on the river, making the Gusu houses appear soft and charming, every casual photo turning out magnificent. Cherry's service was attentive and responsive. Upon check-in, seasonal fresh fruits were provided, and mini-bar drinks were complimentary. This waterscape suite, offering a unique view and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, is my top choice for a vacation in Suzhou. I will definitely book this room again next time and sincerely recommend it to friends who love water town scenery.

GGuest UserLiuxiang Hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to scenic spots and shopping areas, making it super convenient for getting around. The room was clean with no unpleasant odors, and the subtle, pleasant fragrance throughout the whole room was really soothing. The bedding was soft and the soundproofing was excellent. The front desk staff were warm and thoughtful, proactively recommending sightseeing routes. The toiletries were high-quality. This place offers incredible value for money, and I'll definitely choose it again on my next visit!

WWorld wonders 探险者Nestled in the heart of a picturesque landmark, this guesthouse offers stunning views of Pingjiang Road at night. There's a cat café right across the street, which is a lovely touch. The breakfast spread is generous, and you can even do your laundry for free. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, making this a fantastic choice for your stay.

GGuest UserAn absolutely wonderful experience! If you're coming to Suzhou, staying in a garden-style setting is a must. This hotel is a conversion of a 300-year-old house. While the building is old, all the facilities are incredibly modern, including a gym, pool, and even Dyson hair dryers. It's just a bridge away from Pingjiang Road, so you can enjoy the bustling lights on one side while having your own tranquil oasis on the other (the courtyard rooms are behind the wall you see in the video). The hotel breakfast is excellent, a semi-buffet of Chinese and Western small plates, complemented by your choice of a Chinese or Western main course. The breakfast noodles are especially delicious, served with fresh water chestnuts and shrimp. I particularly want to commend the hotel's service; it was truly warm and welcoming. The hotel is a convenient 20-minute walk (or 5-minute bike ride) to Suzhou Museum, Humble Administrator's Garden, and Lion Grove Garden. Ou Garden is a 10-minute walk. Wangshi Garden is a bit further, about a 15-minute bike ride. I'd recommend getting a joint ticket for the first three gardens, which is valid for three days. There are also some fantastic restaurants nearby, and both Pingjiangfu and Jinhaihua are within walking distance. If your budget allows, definitely go for the Songmaoju Suite – it's a private house with its own courtyard, so you won't have to worry about footsteps from above or noise from the shared courtyard. They also have smaller standard rooms to suit various budgets. A small heads-up: one wall of the courtyard rooms faces Pingjiang Road, so it can be a bit noisy during the day, but don't worry, it's very quiet at night. Just a minor suggestion: the super-large bathroom with a bathtub, double sinks, and three separate areas is fantastic, but there's only one hook. I'd suggest adding a few more. Also, the wardrobe could use some pant hangers.

AAnonymous UserI rarely write long reviews, but this hotel, at best, is a business hotel. Don't try to market it as a family-friendly hotel when it's clearly not. Just adding a few kid activities and a small train doesn't make it one. 1. The room had absolutely no children's amenities: no kids' toothbrushes, no kids' slippers. You couldn't even install a bed rail because there was nowhere to attach it. 😂 2. The showerhead was broken, with water leaking from the side. 3. There were only two extremely high pillows. Seriously, don't standard hotels usually provide four pillows? Two high, two low? I ended up having to sleep with clothes propped under my head. 4. The front desk staff (the guy with glasses) during both check-in and check-out had the same unhelpful attitude as a budget hotel chain's front desk. In fact, a budget hotel might even be more welcoming. If you don't want to work during the May Day holiday, just switch shifts! 😠 5. The housekeeping auntie definitely hasn't been trained. She was pushing a huge mattress and nearly hit a child while turning a corner. The only positive feedback I have is for the kind female front desk staff member who enthusiastically helped me find my lost ID card.

GGuest UserWe stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好,值得回来再住。五星级的设施,四星级的价钱。

GGuest UserThis hotel is a traditional Suzhou-style building with an open-air garden on the second floor. It's located right by Pingjiang Road, and from the window by the water, you can see the lively street, yet it remains surprisingly quiet. It's within walking distance to the Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and the Suzhou Museum. The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast area were all very friendly, warm, and attentive.

SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
