GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the old location of Suzhou so the surrounding areas are all full of cultural experiences. The location is ideal for visiting several gardens such as The Couple's Retreat Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Humble Administrator's Garden (all within walking distance). However, it is a bit difficult to reach by car, as you would have to cross a small bridge and go over slightly rough roads (not ideal for multiple luggage, especially large ones).
The hotel breakfast is soup noodles, with 8 different options, and it comes with a dessert (mung bean cake, a local specialty). It does get a bit tiring and repetitive once you eat it for a long time though. But, there are plenty of other alternative options up and down the street the hotel is located in. Various food stalls, restaurants, and even bakeries are all located within walking distance. The hotel also provides a ticketed experience to a local activity known as 评弹, a type of operatic singing famous for its soothing sound and tendency to invoke sleepiness.
The hotel rooms are neat and kept clean with no odor. Throughout the hotel, a pleasing scent was smelled and it seems that one could buy the same scent from one of the various stalls open on the street. The bathroom amenities include: hair dryer, bath robes, toothbrushes, a vanity set, razor, and a comb (along with another item that slipped my mind). The toilet is automated and has a heated seat. Unfortunately, the showers are a bit difficult to use (low water pressure and difficulty in setting temperature). There are three settings for the shower: overhead, handheld, and spout. The rooms that we ordered (two single beds) included a sitting room furnished with a rocking chair and a mini fridge (drinks inside have to be paid for). The water bottles placed outside the fridge and the snacks on the table are complimentary and free of charge. The hotel also has a laundry machine that both washes and dries the clothes. Sadly, it doesn't properly dry clothes if more than 1.5 sets of clothing are placed inside. Drying racks and clothing hangers are provided for such scenarios. Laundry baskets were also provided. The hotel does not have elevators, given the antiquity of the neighborhood, so heavy luggage and suitcases have to be carried by hand up the stairs.
The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful with anything we needed. We had a total of 8 suitcases (5 checked and 3 carry-ons) and the staff (overnight as we checked in at around 12 AM) voluntarily led us to the room and helped carry our bags up. When we ran into a problem with the laundry machine, the staff helped clear up the misunderstanding.
Attached are photos of the lobby (picture of the table with the tea sets), the hotel room that was booked (the other room looked the same, just mirrored placement), the sitting room, and complimentary food that was provided.

The experience was absolutely fantastic! The hotel is nestled in the heart of the ancient city, offering a tranquil escape amidst the bustle. SCDA's design flawlessly blends Suzhou garden aesthetics with modern luxury; every step reveals a picturesque scene with white walls, dark tiles, bamboo shadows, and flowing water. The 48 sqm waterside room is spacious and bright, featuring 270° floor-to-ceiling windows and a private viewing balcony for breathtaking views. Open the window and you're greeted by trickling water, rockeries, lush greenery, white walls, and dark tiles. In the morning, listen to the gentle flow of water; in the afternoon, relax on the balcony's rocking chair in the sun; in the evening, watch the sunset paint the water with color – pure bliss. The room's details exude quality, from the custom toiletries with their soothing scents to the oversized bathtub directly facing a charming bamboo and rock landscape, creating a truly atmospheric bathing experience. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the first round of the mini-bar is complimentary, a thoughtful touch. Cherry's service was meticulous, and the staff were warm and attentive. Breakfast was rich and delicious, featuring both Suzhou-style noodles and Western delicacies. Here, every moment allows you to feel the poetic charm of Jiangnan's slow pace of life. It's the perfect choice for a vacation in Suzhou, highly recommended!

Environment: The subway station is right outside, which is super convenient.
Service: Every front desk staff member was very enthusiastic, patient, polite, and gentle with everyone.
Overall, this was the best hotel I stayed at during my trip. The service was excellent, the view from the window was beautiful, and the front desk even offered free coffee and disinfectant wipes, which was a very thoughtful touch.

FFairy DeeThe hotel is lovely. Especially the service from the staff. Most of them speak English and are always willing to help. If anything goes wrong they make sure to correct it and leave you satisfied. Rooms are quiet and spacious. The breakfast is good , has bit of variety of western and Chinese food. The highlight for me was the food truck by the patio. It sells affordable and delicious hotdogs and very yummy ice-cream. there is a small water show in the evening as well . It’s also near a mall so many food options. A little far from the subway or train station but I’ll still give it a 10/10!

GGuest UserThe Artyzen Habitat Suzhou is a newly opened hotel, and my overall experience was excellent. The location is superb, making it very convenient for getting around and shopping. Directly opposite the hotel is Uni Park, and the subway entrance is right at the doorstep. The hotel environment is elegant and clean, with stylish decor, and it's quiet and comfortable. The front desk and staff are warm, attentive, and very polite. Hotel guests also get a 20% discount on restaurant orders, which is fantastic value for money. The room facilities are brand new and spotless, making for a comfortable and peaceful stay. It offers great value for money and I highly recommend it!

GGuest UserThe receptionist was caring and they even upgraded my room with bathtub. The room is big and spacious. Especially the spot is just inside the ancient town it feels so nice after a walk you can go back in room to rest anytime! Before I went back to sleep I even bought some nice silver jewellery at the shop below and after late night come out from entrance the staircase is just right beside the shop. Literally staying upstairs. I enjoyed the street vibe a lot. The shower gel and shampoo was very big bottle and was very nice, truly would bring my family back to the hotel for the value and location to enjoy the ancient town.

SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
