Haner Hotel (Suzhou Guanqian Street Pingjiang Road)

This time, my sister and I visited Suzhou again and booked this hotel 🏨. We stayed here last year, and both the environment and service were excellent! So, we chose to stay here again. The hotel 🏨 is conveniently located right on Pingjiang Road. After checking in, you also get two complimentary tickets to a Pingtan teahouse 🆓. Last time, we had a king-size room, and this time we got a twin room. There's even a rocking chair in the room that my sister found so comfortable she didn't want to go out sightseeing! The hotel 🏨 room rate includes breakfast, and both the braised pork noodles and braised beef noodles were delicious. After breakfast, we took a nice stroll along Pingjiang Road!

This hotel boasts an outstanding location, just a ten-minute walk from the Master of the Nets Garden, and within 3 kilometers of attractions like the Canglang Pavilion, Suzhou Museum, and Shiquan Street. You can savor revamped Suzhou cuisine at the hotel or explore local life and hidden gems in the surrounding alleys. Check into the Kimpton Bamboo Grove and embark on a leisurely, charming journey through Gusu. Designed with meticulous care by SCDA, the hotel features white walls, green bamboo, waterside pavilions, and winding corridors, creating an elegant garden setting. A single wall separates it from the outside hustle and bustle. After checking in, you can stroll through the courtyard, immersing yourself in the unique tranquil atmosphere of Jiangnan. The 5 PM Social Hour is a must-try; enjoy specially crafted cocktails and delicate snacks on a waterside pavilion as you watch the sunset over the moat, waiting for dusk. Member benefits are truly generous, and the welcome drink voucher is very practical. The room design is simple yet sophisticated, with an open and airy feel. The amenities are complete, the bathroom has separate wet and dry areas, and the toiletries are of excellent quality. With fantastic natural light, you can sit by the window and enjoy the garden views at your leisure. The hygiene is quite good. Our butler, An Bo, provided excellent service, helping arrange a late check-out and reminding us to dine during off-peak hours. We were very satisfied with the service. In the morning, enjoy breakfast at Zhuxu Xuan, where freshly made Suzhou-style red soup noodles are authentic and flavorful, and fresh young coconuts are also available. The balanced variety of Chinese and Western dishes, enjoyed amidst the garden's greenery, sets you up for an energetic day, allowing you to deeply experience the charm of Gusu. We'll definitely be back!

The hotel service was excellent, and all the staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly. We had booked a family room and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a family room with a bathtub. It was a wonderful gesture that made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is also within walking distance of Pingjiang Road, making it very convenient for sightseeing, dining, and exploring the local area. We truly appreciated the thoughtful upgrade and had a great experience overall. Highly recommended!

Nestled in the heart of a picturesque landmark, this guesthouse offers stunning views of Pingjiang Road at night. There's a cat café right across the street, which is a lovely touch. The breakfast spread is generous, and you can even do your laundry for free. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, making this a fantastic choice for your stay.

The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but it's conveniently located if you're planning to visit the nearby mountains or Taihu Lake. Right next to the hotel is a shopping mall with a Cha Yan Yue Se (tea house), making dining and shopping very convenient. Although this is a Marriott extended-stay brand, we discovered it's a hidden gem for families with kids. During the May Day holiday, they had daily kids' activities. On our check-in day, we participated in a kite-painting activity at the lobby bar, and after painting, we flew the kites on the lawn in front of the hotel. My child had an absolute blast! We were assigned the smallest suite and received complimentary welcome desserts. The front desk staff, noticing we had a child, proactively sent kids' toiletries to our room, which felt like a very thoughtful touch. The room is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, perfectly meeting the needs of an extended stay.

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.

I chose the Qiyu Pai Resort Hotel for my trip to Suzhou's Shantang Street this time, and I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Suzhou. The hotel boasts an excellent location, close to Shilu subway station, and just a few minutes' walk to Shantang Street, making it super convenient for evening strolls and trying local food. The rooms blend Japanese and Suzhou design, are clean, tidy, and spacious, and come with a separate bathtub – perfect for soaking away travel fatigue. The soundproofing throughout the hotel is excellent, providing a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle, ensuring a very restful sleep. The hotel's Suzhou-style breakfast offers a wide variety, with freshly made Suzhou noodles that are authentic and delicious. Plus, the rooftop terrace provides stunning views of the ancient city's sunset, creating a fantastic photo opportunity. The only minor drawback was that the shower water temperature occasionally fluctuated, making it a bit tricky to adjust. However, this is a small flaw that doesn't detract from the overall experience. With attentive concierge service and excellent value for money, I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou.

The bathroom is quite new and very clean. The room is spacious with a sofa and a table, and there's plenty of space to hang clothes. The air conditioning in the room is quiet, making for a peaceful night's sleep. The location is convenient for transportation, close to Shiquan Street, and the subway station is right outside the hotel. The only minor inconvenience is that you have to take a short detour to park, and the parking lot doesn't have direct elevator access to the hotel lobby.

The location is great, right downstairs from Pingjiang Road and close to all the attractions. I was very satisfied with everything during my stay. Whenever I had an issue, the concierge was always quick to respond and help resolve it, which I really appreciated! I'll definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance to visit in the future.
