"The hotel staff were incredibly warm and helpful. We were initially given a room on the fifth floor facing the road, but we found the decor smell quite strong and stuffy. They promptly showed us a room on the second floor, which felt much better.
Overall, the hotel's positives outweigh its negatives. The facilities are brand new, and the location is excellent – close to the ancient town without the usual noise and crowds. During the off-season, getting a taxi isn't a problem. However, the street in front is a popular 'influencer' spot, a steep uphill slope, so if you have mobility issues, consider using transportation for coming and going. Also, it's a street known for Halal food, which means plenty of dining options, but if you're walking back, be prepared for a strong smoky smell. That said, rooms facing the villa area with mountain and water views are incredibly fresh and quiet; there's absolutely no outside noise at night. On a side note, the master light switch is a bit quirky – after turning off the lights, the mirror light would automatically switch on, and I'd have to get out of bed to turn it off again. Maybe I just haven't found the trick yet...
The breakfast selection is decent; you'll definitely find enough to eat. It's a mix of Chinese and Western options, with all the essentials. The oranges were particularly delicious. The coffee machine tended to splatter milk a bit, and its dispenser wasn't the cleanest.
Overall, for anyone looking for the convenience of being near the ancient city, wanting quiet, and enjoying the quality service of a chain brand, this hotel is highly recommended once the new decor smell dissipates. As we were leaving, the staff repeatedly bid us farewell and even gave us a small gift, which was a lovely end to our trip.
Frankly, I feel that giving a five-star review for everything is a bit artificial, AI-like, and self-serving. Through genuine reviews, we can help more people choose hotels that suit their needs, and it also helps hotels filter out unnecessary troublesome guests. Isn't that a win-win?"
