What made Meili unforgettable for me wasn't just the blessing of the sacred mountains and the stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' spectacle. A significant part of it was also the warmth and service from every staff member at Ji Xia Shan. No matter when or where, everyone I encountered greeted me not with a standardized, robotic smile, but with a genuinely bright and warm one. There was the unlimited supply of butter tea, the enthusiastic yet shy breakfast guy, the thoughtful and respectful housekeeper sister, the handsome young man on the fourth-floor viewing deck who taught us time-lapse photography, and the auntie who kept asking if we had enough food even after loading our breakfast plates... This wasn't just a place to stay; it felt more like a warm home. When we left in the car, everyone stood at the door waving goodbye, and for the first time, I felt an immense reluctance to leave a hotel, tears flowing uncontrollably. This trip not only received the blessing of the sacred mountains but also embraced the warmth of Ji Xia Shan. I believe these memories will support me through countless moments, inspiring me to strive for even better things. Tashi Delek!

This is a typical Tibetan-style guesthouse, built by the river. The hygiene and facilities are quite good. The owner warmly invited us to have dinner with them; the owner's wife's homemade chili sauce was delicious. However, to be fair, the small road leading from the main road to the guesthouse passes through a sand quarry and has a significant elevation difference, which is inconvenient. It's recommended that you contact the owner before you arrive to see if you can park on the main road and then take the small road down.

Since we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences. The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it. The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying. The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills. Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

This hotel feels like a beautifully wrapped gift: as stunning as it is when you unwrap the outer layer (public areas), it's just as disappointing when you open the inner box (service and details). The design is overdone, but the service completely falls short, making the overall value for money very low. 1. **Design and Public Areas: Superficial 'Showmanship'** A lot of effort clearly went into the design; many corners are very photogenic, and the investment in public areas shows ambition. However, this sense of design feels more like 'showmanship' for photo opportunities, with practical considerations for living being poorly thought out. 2. **Guest Rooms and Facilities: Details Don't Stand Up to Scrutiny** The guest rooms are generally alright, but the hardware details don't hold up to scrutiny. The bathroom fixtures are subpar, and their quality seriously mismatches the hotel's overall positioning. Regarding facilities, there was no introduction to the blanket in the room, nor was a photography stand mentioned. The lighting design is understandable and seems to have taken inspiration from Grand Hyatt Kunming, but issues like sewer odor indicate poor attention to detail. 3. **Service: The Biggest Flaw** Most of the staff at this hotel seem to judge guests with prejudice, which is the most disappointing aspect. The overall service attitude is very poor; the staff lack enthusiasm, and their perfunctoriness is obvious. There was no introduction to the room's functions upon arrival, not even the most basic welcome or explanation. In contrast to 'Ji Xia Shan' which has dedicated staff at the observation deck offering thoughtful touches like ginger tea, here the upstairs observation deck is completely unattended in the morning. Many guests have complained about similar issues. 4. **Price Severely Mismatched with Service** For such a price (some room types costing three to four thousand yuan per night), the service and hardware details received are so poor and completely mismatched. At this price point, one can easily find hotels with more attentive service and a more complete experience. If you just want to take some photos, this place might serve its purpose; but if you're looking forward to a comfortable holiday experience, I advise you to think twice.

The room with a view was great! When we arrived in the afternoon, the snow-capped mountains were incredibly clear, and the balcony was perfect for taking photos. There was plenty of closet space for our luggage, and even a thoughtful clothesline. The bread on the first floor was delicious. The front desk staff were all very kind. It would be even more perfect if parking were a bit more convenient.

The view in the room is spectacular. You can see the view of the snow mountain and lush green mountains while taking a bath or in bed. It was the most wonderful stay for us. The room also came with all the amenities needed, equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and a Smeg kettle, which seems very suitable for the price. They also provide a free laundry service, which they will deliver clean clothes by your door in the morning. Beverages including water, soft drinks, coffee and tea are all included and can be provided as much as you need. They also prepared us sandwiches for us to take for our day hike. The young lady at the front desk, who is also a barista, took very good care of us. She is always active on Wechat for any requests we may have. She also kindly helped us to arrange a van to pick us up from Ninong to Feilaisi. Definitely a rewarding stay after long hikes!

We stayed in Yubeng during a week when access to the village was closed, and we were the only guests at the hotel. It’s located near the trailhead to Ice Lake and not too far from Lower Yubeng and the Sacred Waterfall (the return hike is steep, but anyone coming to this place should be prepared for long and demanding walks!). There was no room service during our stay (like trash collection), but the hosts were friendly, and the food at the restaurant was very tasty and fairly priced — especially considering the logistical challenges of stocking the kitchen. The room is simple but comfortable. The towels are disposable, which is a bit strange at first, but you get used to it (they actually dry you well). The view from the hotel balcony is unbelievable — definitely worth paying extra for a room with a view. We would happily stay there again.

They say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise. Let's talk about the downsides: 1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road. 2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though. 3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

Getting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area. The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!
