This is the perfect place to stay in Upper Yubeng Village. It's located right at the start of the trails to Nisai Glacier and Glacier Lake. The breakfast was delicious and was customized for our vegetarian diet. They gave us lunch sandwiches every morning to take on our hikes. The room was well-stocked with water, fruit, and milk. They cleaned our laundry for us on request in just a couple of hours. We accidentally broke a coffee mug, and they replaced it for free. They actually washed our coffee mugs every day, which no other hotel seems to do. Finally, why I'd give this place six stars if I could: on our final day in Yubeng Village, we checked out and started hiking out toward Ninong. We accidentally left one of our phones in the hallway outside our room. The hotel manager noticed and immediately sent a runner to deliver the phone to us on the trail, almost a kilometer away. We tried to tip them but they adamantly refused, so all we can do is say thank you!

It’s a warm and cozy stay, making you feel at home at upper yubeng. Hotel is located just right by the start of the ice lake trial, so it’s very convenient. You’d get to enjoy the snow mountain view right outside your window! It gets cold at night during winter but there is an electric heater, floor and bathroom heating so you’d stay warm. There’s some hearty Cantonese dishes for you to order for dinner. Our stay comes with free breakfast and it’s a huge portal — enough to fuel you up for your hikes. They also provided us a sandwich to bring to go and eat on the hike! They also provide hiking poles and crampons if you did not bring them. Highly recommend for your stay at upper yubeng!

THE BEST location you can ever get in Upper Yubeng. It is situated right at the starting point of one of the main hiking trails. You can not get any closer and the views from the room that I've got is just insane. The accommodation also provides a free sandwich for your hikes for each new day on top of the breakfast that you already got. An amazing touch. On top of that they even provided free laundry services, collected and returned right at your doorstep so you get fresh for all your hikes! The only issue is the water heater being very wonky (which seems to be a common issue across accommodations in yubeng) and the extremely hard bed. You can sleep on top of the blanket so that it would work perfect but otherwise not the worst but definitely can be better.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!

Stunning location, great service, warm rooms for the winter and nice food. Ideally the shower would have a door and the toilet seat isn’t so cold (we stayed in December) but the stunning view of the mountains and helpful staff made for an overall excellent stay
