Very nice quiet location, great service and amenities. Room is very sizeable and location is ok. Very happy and would recommend instead of four seasons! The spa was also very good!! Definitely recommend

This hotel was a delightful surprise. It was warm and attentive. During my 20-day stay in Chiang Mai, this was the best value hotel I visited, offering the most attentive service and the most enthusiastic and caring staff. They prepared everything needed for each guest and provided excellent service. The breakfast was also very thoughtfully prepared. The room was beautifully decorated, which I loved. They even provided complimentary fruit and afternoon tea, and toys for the children – it was perfect! Staying here was a great choice…it exceeded my expectations…and the hotel also has a beautiful Thai owner who speaks some Chinese, which is really wonderful! 👍

The experience with Away Chiang Mai was amazing! Being a vegan, it’s my very first time to stay in a fully vegan hotel. Every morning, I enjoyed the vegan breakfast buffet without needing to read food labels/ guessing if the dish contained any animal ingredients. Apart from food, the room was very comfortable. The swimming pool was not crowded and I could swim freely. What’s more, while the weather was quite cool during my stay, the swimming pool was supplied with warm water. Away Chiang Mai is such a great place for vacation.

You can easily rent a bicycle using the Anywheel App, which makes getting around effortless and fun. Cycling through the neighborhood lets you truly enjoy the cool, refreshing breeze during Chiang Mai’s so-called “winter season.” 🚲✨

A surprise stay; an overnight transition proves magical. Initially attracted by the onsen aspect which turns out to be more than meet the eyes in terms of health attentiveness- quality of local natural spring water and added nourishments. The property offers grand historical values as a former governor’s manor with splendid blended charming old-vibe interior decoration as well as modern comforts.  Top notched exclusive spa room especially paired with well-selected massage practitioner (Thai massage is a must!) The room is cozy and fully equipped. Best queen bed, pillows, and comforter I ever experienced; I did not want to get up lol  Attentive and courteous staff. Exceed expectations in everyway. Easily earned 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A beautiful serendipitous spot to relax. Staff are all friendly and have high service mindset. I asked for Khao Soi which is not on menu and they did it for me. Surprisingly the dish was so delicious, one of good Khao Soi bowls I had. All details in the hotel are so well-curated. A location is good, nearby Wat U-mong which is nice to visit by walking. Not too far to go to center of a city. Lovely experience staying there.

My partner and I recently spent two nights at Hotel Aono in Chiang Mai, and it was the perfect peaceful retreat after busy days of exploring. This hotel excels at being a quiet, super clean base of operations with genuine Thai hospitality. The Aesthetic and Room Comfort (4.5/5) The hotel has a wonderful, clean, and minimalist aesthetic—think contemporary Thai design mixed with a touch of Japanese simplicity. Our Deluxe Double Room was spacious and spotlessly clean; honestly, the housekeeping team deserves massive praise, as you could constantly see them ensuring the whole place was immaculate. We appreciated the strong air conditioning and complimentary amenities. If I had one tiny note, the bed was on the firmer side, which is common in Thailand, but worth noting if you prefer a softer mattress. Service and Atmosphere (5/5) The staff here are the true stars. From check-in to check-out, everyone was genuinely friendly, attentive, and quick to help with directions or calling a taxi. Despite being close to the action, the hotel is surprisingly quiet. The garden area and the lovely outdoor swimming pool offer a tranquil place to relax and cool off, which was a real bonus after a hot afternoon. Location (4/5) The location in the Chang Khlan area is fantastic. It's not right inside the Old City walls, which keeps it peaceful, but it’s still highly convenient. We were just a short, easy walk from the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar and close enough to head to the Tha Phae Gate quickly. Being right next to the newly revitalized Khlong Mae Kha (Mae Kha Canal) also gave us a lovely place for an evening stroll. Verdict Hotel Aono is excellent value for money. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, and well-located hotel with exceptionally kind staff, this is a brilliant choice for a short city break in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended!

Peaceful and calm stay, truly worth the money. The rooms are exactly as shown in the photos—no surprises at all. Everything felt comfortable, well-maintained, and relaxing. A great place to unwind, and I would definitely recommend it.

If you want a room with good price located inside old town then you should consider this place. However there are some pro and con for your information. Pro: reasonable price. Great location. Friendly staffs swimming pool. Con: room should be a bit more clean than that. AC was really loud.
