U Nimman Chiang Mai

The location is superb, right next to Nimman One and across from Maya mall, making it incredibly convenient for both dining and shopping. There's a restaurant called Nara on the ground floor with a great ambiance and delicious food, though it felt a bit pricey at 1000 RMB for a family of four. The hotel breakfast was fantastic. We stayed at Shangri-La for 5 days before coming here, and the eggs Benedict at this hotel were absolutely delicious. While the variety wasn't as extensive as Shangri-La, it felt very refined and certainly didn't fall short in quality compared to Shangri-La's breakfast. There's also a small pool on the rooftop. On our second night, we found a small gecko in the shower, but the hotel staff quickly handled it. Luckily, we're not afraid of geckos! There are many bars nearby. On the day we visited, Nimman One had a live band playing, which felt like it went on until around 1 AM. We could hear it quite clearly in our room. The hotel does provide earplugs, which would help a lot. Normally, I'm quite sensitive to noise and get annoyed and can't sleep if it's loud. But perhaps because I was on vacation and didn't have to work the next day, even with the thumping music outside, I didn't feel bothered. The band was actually quite good. The only minor complaint is that for the room type I booked, the air conditioning seemed to blow directly onto the bed. The next morning, my neck and upper back felt stiff and sore, like I'd caught a chill, although my husband was fine. The bay window is very large, and since we had two young children, each could comfortably sleep on one end. The hotel thoughtfully provided bedding for them. On our last day, we had an early flight at 6 AM and couldn't make it for breakfast, but the hotel prepared a very generous breakfast box for us, which was much appreciated.

Great location, but the soundproofing isn't good. It's noisy by the road, and there were people singing until midnight. The staff's attitude was excellent (5/5).

The front desk staff member spoke excellent Chinese and gave us a warm and thorough introduction. For every day of our stay, each person could get one complimentary drink from the mini-bar. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite, which was okay in terms of environment, but the cleanliness was average. The pillows had a strange smell, similar to a very mediocre hotel apartment back home. However, the hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. It's right across the street from Maya Mall, and Nimman One is just downstairs. Personally, I found Nimman One much more interesting to explore; Maya didn't have much to offer, and crossing the road took forever. The rooftop pool water wasn't very clean; my child broke out in a rash after just one swim. The hotel breakfast was very ordinary, nothing special.

This hotel is excellent! It's conveniently located, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. They went above and beyond to make my child's birthday surprise perfect. A special shout-out to Guihua, who was incredibly helpful.

I can't believe a hotel that cost over HKD 800 felt worse than a HKD 300 guesthouse nearby. Even though there was sunlight in the room, it was incredibly humid because the windows couldn't be opened. The sheets and duvet were extremely uncomfortable. The air conditioner blew directly at us, and you had to get out of bed and walk to the controller by the door to adjust it. Hotel parking requires you to park in the garage across the street, which is a nightmare during evening rush hour; you have to drive around 10-odd circles to reach the top floor. The breakfast looked plentiful but was very mediocre; honestly, you'd be better off getting noodles outside. It's also worth noting that there was no clear price list for the snacks in the room, which led to a several-minute room check-out process, a very unpleasant experience. This is the first time I've had so many complaints about a hotel, because the service and price are simply not proportionate. Many times, people travel to Chiang Mai to save money, and I believe this price point is among the highest in Southeast Asia, yet we didn't receive the facilities and services we should have. I believe the Eastin Hotel across the street and other nearby guesthouses would be much better choices.
