The room is located about a 5-minute walk down an alley from the main road. There's a super delicious Thai restaurant right outside. The room looks exactly like the photos and is very affordable. It has panoramic glass windows where you can see Suthep Mountain and planes taking off. However, there's no hairdryer or electric kettle in the room, and the lighting is a bit dim. There are blackout curtains but no sheer curtains. A 500 Thai Baht or 100 RMB deposit is required at check-in.

Staff: Mostly friendly and professional, except few. I asked the female staff for early check-in and left my luggage at the designated place. Then, she said, “No, you have to wait until 14:00”. Immediately after her response, the male staff approached me and processed it. He also allowed me to change room without any charge and to store my luggage in the room, instead of the designated area. Room: For those who like 80s-90s vibe, this is for you, and me too. The AC is loud and cleaned. The ceiling, on the other hand, has strains from water. The curtain has a strain that looks like either blood or coffee. The wall looks unpolished, creating a running down impression of the hotel. The socket, TV, lift, and fridge are functional, fortunately. 2 bottles of water are set by the hotel standard. Please clean up those strains and walls. Bathroom: It contains dusts on the ventilation fan’s cover. There is mold strain on the wall that could be mistaken as black mold initially. Please clean up it as it could evolve to such in the future. Location: Not far away from the pubs, so music can get loud inside the room as it has poor soundproof. Unless you don’t mind the sound, or want to stay away from the city centre, go for it.

Hands down, this is the most value-for-money hotel in Chiang Mai for the 200-300 baht price range. The rooms are at least 40 square meters, come with a small kitchenette and a fridge, and you can charge your devices right by the bed. While the decor is a bit dated, the cleanliness is surprisingly good, better than many older hotels. The rooftop buffet is no longer available, but the pool is still open and a decent size. The location is great, near Maya Mall and Nimmanhaemin Road. Before 6 PM, you can even walk directly from Huay Kaew Road. The hotel entrance area is very quiet, surrounded by a purely residential neighborhood with no noisy businesses or dodgy people around.

This hotel is tucked away in an alley, giving it a very authentic local vibe. The cleanliness isn't top-notch, and the facilities are quite old; there's no TV, and even if there were, I wouldn't understand it anyway. The room is spacious enough for a family of four, and the price is indeed cheap. It even has a pool, and you can eat in the lobby, so there's always food available if you're hungry and don't want to leave the hotel. Wat Chiang Man is right next door, and rooms on the second floor and up that face the temple offer a direct view of it – I was lucky enough that our family room did. Downsides: the low price comes with reasons. Housekeeping isn't always prompt, there are no complimentary tea or coffee sachets like in typical hotels, and no kettle, which makes instant noodles inconvenient. Toiletries are limited to just soap and shampoo. Also, no slippers.

The hotel looks good. Owner is very accommodating and polite. Staff always tries their best to tailor to the clients’ needs, very tactful and accommodating. Location could be both - good and bad, depending on your needs. It is very nice and quiet in general, pretty close to a bunch of landmarks, but also happens to be outside of the pickup range for all the tour agents, for instance we’ve had to take a taxi to the closest pick up location(7-10mins). For us it was actually perfect because we wanted a nice and tranquil getaway from the city hustle and bustle. Quite a few great restaurants, 7/11 and other stores in vicinity too. A minor drawback for me was that they didn’t provide bathrobes, and i do like wearing them at the hotel, but again, depends on ur needs. One major drawback for me was the laundry service-they did provide it, it was quite flexible and quick, but by the time I opened the bag(last minute before the check out) I’ve discovered that my white sport suit and my mom’s white dress was ruined( it had pinkish spots all over it which I’m not sure if I’ll be able to ever get off, so be mindful of that. Other than that I enjoyed my stay and beautiful scenery, would love to come again.

The hotel is very close to the airport, and it's right on the flight path, so it's noisy all day long. Rooms on the third floor are okay, but the second-floor rooms are absolutely terrible. The walls are peeling and uneven, and there's no soundproofing at all on the second floor; the gaps under the doors are huge. The windows are blinds that don't close properly, so you can hear everything outside. The people in the next room were talking very loudly, then shouting and singing around 2 or 3 AM, making it impossible to sleep. In short, avoid this place!

Recently stayed at a hotel in Chiang Mai, and while there were positives, some areas need improvement. The location is excellent—just a 3-minute walk from Maya Shopping Mall and a 5-minute stroll to One Nimman—providing easy access to shopping and dining. The room was spacious, and the mattress offered exceptional comfort, contributing to restful nights. Friendly and accommodating staff further enhanced the experience, along with an affordable laundry service. However, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing, with noticeable mould in the toilet, bathtub, and sink. This cleanliness issue needs urgent attention to improve guest satisfaction. Despite these concerns, the room rate was reasonable, especially for the peak Christmas holiday season. Overall, this hotel presents a solid option, but potential guests should be aware of the cleanliness challenges.

There are two hotels next to Maya Mall, and this season's pick offers great value for money. Although it's on a flight path, you can barely hear the planes. Nimman One is right across the street. The staff are incredibly friendly and you can easily communicate with them using English and simple Thai. They're so attentive – they wouldn't even let me carry my own luggage, insisting on taking it to my room or bringing it right to me. The lobby has a generous selection of complimentary pastries, water, drinks, and coffee. This place is truly a hidden gem! While there were tiny ants in the room, they were dealt with promptly and it didn't affect my stay at all.

Amazing
GGuest UserI rarely write reviews for hotels, but I must write this one. Very good hotel, warm service. The service staff will think of small details. My daughter stayed in bed in the morning, and the breakfast manager prepared a takeaway box to help us prepare breakfast for her to take back. All questions about the itinerary were answered. We encountered the largest flood in history in Chiang Mai, and all the itineraries were disrupted. The hotel was in the worst-hit area, and they considered us from beginning to end and did their best to arrange it. We took a small boat, and four hotel waiters, including a deputy manager, pushed the boat in the chest-deep water. It took an hour to reach the land. The hotel arranged other hotels to get us out of trouble. Thank you very much. A memorable hotel!

GGuest UserAdvantages: Convenient location and safe. The environment is very beautiful and suits my aesthetic. The staff are warm and attentive. The room was very clean and the bedding was comfortable. Great breakfast. There is also a deer that wanders around the yard in the morning. Disadvantages: It is close to the airport, and there are planes roaring from time to time, but I personally don't think it will affect it. There is no 7/11 nearby, but it's not a big problem. The buildings in Lanna are all wooden structures, so it’s a bit dark at night, so be careful if you’re afraid of the dark. Also, if you don’t touch the fawn, don’t offend her.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location and the complimentary shuttle service to One Nimman was very convenient. I especially want to thank the lovely, cute Korean-speaking staff member at check-in; she was incredibly helpful and kind. I also want to give a special shout-out to the male staff member with glasses who helped us with our luggage. He was always smiling and made us feel very welcome with his kindness and hospitality. However, there were several areas that need improvement. First, the musty smell in the room and the unpleasant odor in the elevator made my stay uncomfortable. Also, despite the strict 'No Durian' policy mentioned at check-in, the hallways were filled with the smell of durian, suggesting a need for stricter guidance for certain tourist groups. Also, potential guests should be aware that the vast majority of the guests are Chinese tourists, which significantly influences the overall atmosphere of the hotel. Regarding the room, the sofa bed was far too small for an adult. It would be very cramped for three tall adults to stay together. Also, the Triple Rooms are quite a distance from the lobby and restaurant. While there is a free shuttle service within the resort and it’s walkable for some, it could be challenging for the elderly or those with mobility issues. I stayed for 4 nights and used the breakfast buffet for 3 days. While the food was okay, I was disappointed by the lack of variety; the menu didn't change much, which was a bit boring for a multi-day stay. Lastly, there are no convenience stores nearby, so it was a bit inconvenient to buy emergency items or snacks. It’s a beautiful property with great staff, but the facilities and management definitely need some upgrades.

IilovetravelyeahhIt’s lovely to have a fully vegan resort. The property was very clean, the food was excellent, and I absolutely loved the breakfast. The breakfast buffet chef is fantastic, as is the chef at Moreganic, the main restaurant. I genuinely enjoyed all the food and loved feeling safe knowing everything was vegan. What could have been better was the overall hospitality vibe. Many of the staff we interacted with felt quite disinterested and not particularly warm or welcoming. There were some standouts – Orn, Kham, and another staff member who was always smiling (I didn’t catch his name) – but most others felt lacklustre. On several occasions we went downstairs and were not greeted at all, even though staff were sitting at the desk. There was also background music on repeat – a very short piano loop (around 15 seconds) that played continuously from around 6am until night in the breakfast and common areas. It became quite overwhelming over time and is unfortunately very memorable. The room itself was lovely and very clean, however housekeeping was inconsistent on two days of our six-night stay. One day, when we had the eco card on the bed (meaning no fresh sheets), the beds weren’t made at all. Another day, my kids’ beds were only half-done with a quick fold at the end. Generally housekeeping was good otherwise. Different housekeepers rotating I think. The air conditioning units had visible mould on the flap, which I wiped off myself. This raised concerns about whether there may also be mould inside the unit. There was a slightly musty smell in my room (we had two rooms). Luckily, as it was winter, we mostly used the fan, but this does need addressing. English proficiency among staff was quite limited overall. Orn was great, but in general communication was difficult. I noticed this at another hotel in Chiang Mai as well, so it may not be specific to this resort. On the positive side: the small gym was excellent and open 24 hours, with clean air conditioning. The bathroom had a great toilet bottom-wash-hose with good pressure, clean towels and sheets, bathrobes, a chain lock on the door for extra security, and a filtered water station. Would we stay again? Probably not. The main reason we chose this resort was the vibe – friendliness and feeling taken care of – but it felt more like a serviced apartment where you provide your own hospitality, apart from the restaurants and generally good (but inconsistent) housekeeping. That said, it is aesthetically beautiful, and being able to eat anything without concern was a huge plus. It would also be great to have hotel transport available during the day, not just for airport transfers, so guests can move around in a trusted vehicle. The airport pickup could have been more welcoming and smiling and the wai. The food is exceptional. Moreganic is often empty, likely because prices are around 60% higher than local restaurants, but we really enjoyed our meals there, at breakfast, and via room service. The app-based room service worked very well and delivery was fast. I noticed the pool-access rooms and feel they lack privacy, as other pool guests can sit right outside. My jacuzzi jets also didn’t work. I don’t enjoy giving critical feedback, but I didn’t receive a post-stay feedback email, so this felt like the appropriate place to share it. With staff warmth improved, housekeeping consistency tightened, the music changed, and maintenance issues addressed, this would easily be a full-star stay for me. A fully vegan resort is truly special and unique, and the concept is wonderful. We stayed about 26 days after the Queen’s passing, which may have influenced the atmosphere. P.S. There are some lovely temples nearby, including Wat Mahawan, and others just across the road. All are about a three-minute walk from the resort. There’s also a great jewellery store close by called “I Do I Design.”

GGuest UserAfter seeing many recommendations, I'll share my actual experience. The hotel is quite large, and its location is not far from Maya, less than a ten-minute walk. There are also many massage parlors and restaurants nearby, all of which I felt were good. The hotel's decor is lovely. As for the cons, the rooms are laid out in a 'hui' shape (a common architectural style in China where rooms are built around a courtyard or central area), so opening the windows does affect privacy. Keeping the windows closed makes the room feel a bit stuffier. However, both the room and bathroom are quite spacious. Overall, the interior decoration isn't as impressive as the exterior.

GGuest UserI love creating reviews and social content — especially about ryokan-style stays and onsen experiences. There may be more ryokans in Thailand now, but when a friend recommended Chez Nij Ryokan Onsen, I was genuinely impressed from the moment I arrived. The blend of Thai, Japanese, and French influences is beautifully unique. Even more special is the history — this was once the residence of the former Governor of Chiang Mai. The house is filled with antiques, charm, and character. Stepping inside feels warm, welcoming, and truly homely. The owner, a doctor and grandson of the former governor, personally cares for guests and shared meaningful stories about the residence — an honor I won’t forget. Location-wise, it’s peaceful yet convenient. Nimmanhaemin Road is only 8 minutes away, perfect for dining and shopping. Even returning around 1 AM, the owner and night manager were still there to welcome me. The alley is well lit, quiet, and safe, with another hotel and a tennis court next door. A 7-Eleven is just a 5-minute walk away on the main road. I stayed in the Studio Room with onsen access — incredibly private and peaceful. The tatami design is beautiful, the bed unbelievably soft, and the air quality excellent (my usual dust allergies improved after just one night). The complimentary minibar was a lovely bonus. Direct onsen access from the room is available in the morning only. During female and male sessions, the private door is securely locked and entry is through the changing room — a very safe and thoughtful system. The open-air onsen is stunning — inspired by the winter sea of Hokkaido and said to be one of the largest in Chiang Mai. Cleanliness and hygiene standards are outstanding. The mineral water left my skin noticeably smoother and deeply hydrated, unlike other onsens I’ve tried. The schedule is very well organized, with separate time slots and thorough cleaning between sessions. I checked in at 3 PM and immediately enjoyed the women’s session. After 5:30 PM, guests are asked to leave for routine cleaning and to dry off properly to prevent slipping — a clear reflection of their commitment to safety and hygiene. Soaking at 7:30 AM in the cool morning air truly felt like having a private hot spring. Breakfast is served as a generous full set — so abundant I couldn’t finish it all — yet the staff still offered more. Everything was delicious, and the chef personally came to serve and chat, adding such a thoughtful touch. In the evening, a complimentary mini tea set (9–10 PM) made the stay even more charming. I wrote this from the heart to reflect the genuine care I received. It was absolutely worth it, and I’m so glad I followed my friend’s recommendation. I’ll definitely return to Chez Nij whenever I’m back in Chiang Mai.

YYasmin DunanThis hotel is very affordable for my 3 nights stay in Chiang Mai. I like the location as there's a nearby 7 Eleven, walking distance to night market & Phae Gate. Easy to pin location on your e-hailing service apps. Another plus point, its only 15 mins away from the airport by car. The hotel room is simple, and complete with basic amenities. Acceptable cleanliness and the toilet works all fine. There's a pantry at the lobby & chill area (net) at level 2, where you can take photos or just relax. Overall, its worth the money 👌🏻

OOu BorwornsinI stayed at B2 Resort Chiang Mai and had an overall decent experience. The building looks a bit old and could use some renovation, especially in the exterior areas. However, the room was acceptable for a short stay and provided the basic necessities. One thing to note is that there is no complimentary drinking water provided in the room, but you can conveniently purchase bottled water at the reception desk. The location is quite convenient, especially if you’re planning to travel outbound to Bangkok or other provinces, as it offers easy access to main roads. It’s a suitable option for travelers looking for a budget-friendly place to stay for a short trip. Overall, it’s a reasonable choice if you prioritize convenience and affordability over modern facilities.
