CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

GGuest UserThe hotel was wonderful. It was conveniently located near the metro, making it easy to travel around, while the area was not too crowded. The room was spacious and had great entertainment features. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. We especially loved the projector TV and the automatic toilet. Thank you so much for allowing us to check in early, as we were traveling with kids. We truly appreciated your kindness and hospitality.

EElianaCThis review is long overdue! I was in Shanghai for a business trip in early March, and it happened to be raining heavily then. The underfloor heating gave me the warmest, most comfortable night's sleep, and the duvet cover felt incredibly soft. It was my first time staying in a Shikumen building, and the courtyard was so unique and stylish. Both the courtyard and the room's interior design were absolutely beautiful. The unit I stayed in was located on West Yan'an Road, very close to Xintiandi and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. It was perfect – I could just stroll back after dinner in Bei Li. Check-in was also a breeze. I saw that the host manages several other unique B&Bs, so I'd love to try them out sometime!

ZZhaoxianshengIf you're torn between hotels like Shanghai Centre J, Amanyangyun, Bulgari, and The Peninsula for your trip, I have to say The Peninsula's service is comparatively subpar among them. No one will ask you how you'd like your breakfast or if you'd prefer it in your room; they won't even bring it up. I even asked the front desk to temporarily store my takeout, and it was refused, with them telling me to take it somewhere else. I rarely leave neutral or negative reviews, but I genuinely feel the value for money here is very low, and the service is even worse than some Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental properties. It might be okay if you have a soft spot for The Peninsula; the only thing I was satisfied with was the breakfast taste, which met expectations. I wouldn't recommend it for a regular leisure trip. I complain about the InterContinental Sanlitun the most, but I've never given a review like this, so you can imagine, my friend.

JJinganheleStayed here for a trip to Disney, and the shuttle service to/from the airport and Disney was excellent! The front desk service was also quite good. For the late-night snack, they offer congee and noodles with various toppings like minced meat, green beans, and tofu. It was so comforting to have a bowl after a long day at Disney before heading up to rest. However, on the 24th night, around 10:30 PM, I tried calling the front desk multiple times to ask for water to be sent to my room, but no one answered. This is something that needs attention. But this only happened once, and considering it was late at night, I can understand. Overall, still a five-star review!

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! This is one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever stayed in. Coming from the Disney Hotel's executive room, I instantly felt like the money spent here was truly worth it! First, the room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and both the lounge area and bathroom are generously sized. The toiletries are Aesop, and the kids' toiletries are also excellent! Second, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and there's an à la carte menu too – I couldn't get enough of it. Furthermore, the location is superb. You can walk to the Bund, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Also, the concierge service was wonderful and proactive. With lots of luggage and kids, they eagerly helped with transfers to and from the car, saving us from many awkward moments. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

GGuest UserThis guesthouse absolutely deserves a full five-star rating! The location is truly unbeatable, right next to Plaza 66, and just a few minutes' walk from Lai Lai Xiaolong Bao and the LV Ferris wheel. It's incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring. The host was incredibly thoughtful; they knew we arrived early and proactively offered an early check-in. They were genuinely concerned about our experience throughout our stay and responded instantly to any questions we had, making us feel completely at ease, like friends. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The old house vibe, offering peace and quiet amidst the city bustle, was also very comfortable. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Shanghai!

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserSince I don't need a large room and my survival needs are minimal, I'm always looking for a small, cheap room that meets basic necessities. I stumbled upon this hotel on the platform, and the 'study room' was on discount, so out of curiosity, I booked it for two days. I found the design of the 'study room' truly appealing. The bed is above the desk, making the desk area a cozy, enclosed space that feels very secure and warm <(ºOo)> I was also curious to try a top bunk that required climbing a ladder, which I thought would be fun. Although getting down was quite inconvenient for me, it was a unique experience. The shower water was also wonderfully hot and comfortable. To my surprise, as a rhythm game player, I discovered that this hotel is incredibly close to the Arcade Garena, within walking distance! If I were to stay long-term, I could just walk there every day to play DDR! Here are some areas I think the hotel could improve. First, the mosquito control. On my first day, there was a mosquito, and this cunning mosquito accompanied me for two days, impossible to find. I figured I couldn't see where it was, so I didn't contact the hotel for pest control. I hope the hotel can strengthen its mosquito prevention efforts in the future. Regarding the soundproofing issues mentioned in other reviews, I can give a more accurate description. From my spot, I could hear doors opening and closing in the hallway and my neighbor's shower, but I couldn't hear most of the conversations inside neighboring rooms. This is similar to my university dorm, where you can hear sounds from the hallway but not from adjacent rooms. Most residents are quite considerate, certainly better than my university dorm... These white noises don't significantly affect work, and earplugs are provided in the room, so I don't consider noise to be a primary issue. Other minor points include the desk not being very stable. When I was drawing on it, the tabletop would wobble. As for the internet, it was generally fine for daily use, but it would lag when playing games. These issues are relatively minor. The most important thing is to improve mosquito control. Keep up the good work!

GGuest UserThe entrance to the room goes through a shared corridor where a man and a woman live — they often talk loudly and smoke, so it can be noisy and a bit uncomfortable to pass through. The entrance itself looks more like a small shack, which feels quite unpleasant. However, once inside, the staircase is really cool and gives the place a special atmosphere. The location is great — lots of nice cafés and restaurants nearby, and it’s easy to get around. The host was very kind and responsive, always replied quickly, helped with everything, and even refunded the nights I decided not to stay. After checking other options, I realized this place isn’t as bad as I first thought — it has its good sides. The room itself is beautiful, stylish, and pleasant to stay in.
