When my passport was lost, they went above and beyond to help me find it including letting me to back to the room after check out to look for it, talking to neighboring hotels, and checking security cameras. We will forever be indebted to them for that extra effort. Aside from that, the gym is well-equipped but has a low-medium amount of foot traffic. The room is also comfortable with a heating system that works well. Thanks to the team at Swissotel."

"There are three Ibis hotels near the airport, distinguished by red, green, and blue. All three are about a 10-minute drive from Amsterdam Airport. They offer a convenient airport shuttle bus service. The front desk staff are also friendly, and you can store your luggage for free before check-in. While the room wasn't huge, it was clean and functional overall. Perfectly fine for a solo traveler."

"I booked a Superior Twin with Sofa bed, but upon check-in, I received a Comfort Twin room. After seeing the room, I informed them that there must be a mistake, but the Receptionist insisted it was correct. I then asked why there was no sofa, and she said this was a Superior Twin without a sofa. The next morning, I asked another staff member what type of room this number was. The staff member confirmed it was a Comfort Twin. So, I took down that staff member's name and called Trip.com, providing them with the name. Shortly after, Trip.com called back, apologized, and immediately refunded the difference between the two room types, approximately 70 Euros. I was very impressed with Trip.com. However, I find it strange that the hotel would do this without fearing legal repercussions. This is intentional deception."

"Here’s a firm, professional complaint that clearly states your concerns without making it unnecessarily aggressive. It focuses on the issues you described and requests a formal investigation. Dear Hotel Manager, I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment I received during my recent stay at your hotel. This experience has been one of the most humiliating and unprofessional hotel experiences I have ever encountered. Firstly, I was charged €250 for smoking in the room. While I understand that hotels have strict no-smoking policies and I am willing to accept the applicable penalty if a violation occurred, nothing justifies the way your staff handled the situation. Despite me clearly instructing your staff not to enter my room, they forcefully entered without my permission. At that moment, I was not properly dressed, making the situation extremely embarrassing and a serious invasion of my privacy. This conduct was completely unacceptable. Furthermore, during this interaction, two members of your staff spoke to me in Dutch in what appeared to be an abusive and mocking manner. Although I do not understand Dutch, their tone, gestures, and overall behaviour were intimidating, disrespectful, and deeply humiliating. No guest should ever be treated in such a degrading way. The second issue concerns my food delivery. I had ordered food late at night, and it was left at the reception. When I went to collect it a few hours later, I was informed that the food had been thrown away. I was never contacted, no attempt was made to inform me that my order had arrived, and no explanation was provided as to why my personal property had been discarded. This is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a shocking lack of respect for guests and their belongings. The combination of these incidents reflects an alarming lack of professionalism, respect for guest privacy, and basic customer service standards. I expect the following: 1. A formal investigation into the conduct of the staff involved. 2. A written explanation as to why my room was entered against my explicit instructions. 3. An explanation as to why my food delivery was disposed of without my consent or any attempt to contact me. 4. An apology addressing the unacceptable treatment I experienced. 5. A review of your staff’s conduct and training to ensure that no other guest is subjected to such behaviour. I chose Mövenpick expecting a high standard of hospitality. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, humiliated, and extremely disappointed. I look forward to receiving your prompt response and an explanation regarding these serious matters. "I booked this hotel for the view, and dinner was included. Before checking in, I saw some negative reviews, so I double-checked the dinner arrangements and confirmed that the city tax was included. At dinner, I also repeatedly asked which dishes I could order. Later, I asked Trip.com customer service, and they said three courses and one drink were included. However, the server on-site said only two courses and a drink were included (and only certain items were available). The next day at checkout, we were told we had to pay 11 euros for lemonade, even though we had confirmed with the server during dinner that lemonade was included. After paying, I contacted the hotel through Trip.com, and they claimed we had re-ordered drinks at 11 PM, which we absolutely did not. I asked for CCTV evidence, and then the hotel changed their story, saying drinks were not included in dinner. What exactly is their charging standard? For a hotel over 3000 RMB a night, I didn't see the expected service or integrity. Can they just make up charges and even accuse us of re-ordering to get a discount? It's truly frustrating."

"The good: -The room and bathroom was spacious and comfortable. -On site parking (25€/night). The bad: -As you enter this establishment, there is a big sign saying that we need to help the hotel reduce their carbon footprint by asking the staff not to clean our room. To go with the text there is a picture of a sad looking polar bear (of course, always the polar bear). I'm wondering, if my room is not cleaned, do I pay a cheaper rate, because cleaning is included in the price? If not, I'm wondering if this hotel has joined the climate cult just because it's a great way to gain money. Make people feel guilty about having a clean room, and you need less cleaning staff , less cleaning products, less time…."
