"Excellent room, excellent location and atmosphere of the hotel. Staff however, too often, go according to the 'book', and find it hard to think and improvise on the spot. It's as if they are under trained. When checking in there is no need to ask the guest to fill info on the iPad. You have this info, to stay in touch, already. Don't burden the weary traveler with trivial nonsense. If the sun shines, finally after weeks of grey and rain, and a guest sees the patio with tables in the sun, and this guest wants to have tea in the sun outside in the patio, this has to be a possibility. Don't say, well it's not the season so it's closed, it doesn't make sense, you're a top hotel, not the vander Valk. Improvise, think on your feet, explain that he is welcome to sit there and that his tea will be brought out, but it might take a few minutes longer. This way the guest feels listened to and that the moon is even possible. The kitchen is incredible, the food is wonderful. Last evening I had dinner at the Jansz., two ladies working, were very kind, helpful and attentive, they understood the delicate balance between asking how things are going and leaving the guest alone. I want them to know i appreciate them. Please extend my gratitude to them. Also the Asian looking lady who worked during breakfast this morning, was excellent. Please let her know as well. Finally, the staff at the entrance - getting cabs etc. - are great. Some of the male staff are too - in Dutch, popy yoopy. I am your guest and not your friend. That's all, and that's enough. Thank you for a great stay and I hope to come back again when I am back in the Netherlands. Kind regards, Diederik Lugt"

"Great location close to the tram station (line 17 to Central Station) and plenty of shops nearby. An amazing food court is attached to the front of the hotel, offering a wide variety of affordable and tasty cuisine from all over the world. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I would definitely come back whenever I’m in Amsterdam."

Ibis Amsterdam Centre ★★★
"First off, I have to say the hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, especially for independent travelers. After arriving in Amsterdam via Eurostar, we walked just five minutes to get there – it's literally right by the station! On our last day, we had to catch a train, and due to some unforeseen issues, we ended up getting tickets last minute in the early hours. Because of the hotel's prime location, we were able to make it to the train on time! An unexpected incident on our first day was finding bed bugs on the bed... We reported it to the front desk, and the staff were very helpful. They immediately moved us to another room, and there were no further issues after that. I'd recommend everyone to check for bugs on the bed when you check in."

Huygens Place Amsterdam ★★★★
"Excellent accommodation! Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: Beautifully decorated. Although located in the city center, a 15-minute walk from attractions and the canal, the windows are well-insulated, so I wasn't worried about being woken up. The quaint building and staircase have a lot of charm. Amenities: The hairdryer and TV were new, and shampoo and shower gel were provided. The door has an electronic lock, so I wasn't worried about security while traveling alone. Service: Excellent! The staff at the front desk were very helpful, introducing restaurants and attractions and assisting me with any problems. Luggage storage is free at both check-in and check-out."

The Delphi - Amsterdam Townhouse ★★★★
"The hotel was very thoughtful, providing snacks and water as a welcome. There was also staff at the front desk to check us in late at night. However, the soundproofing in the rooms isn't great; you can easily hear conversations from the next room."

Singel Hotel Amsterdam ★★★
"The houses in Amsterdam's old town are incredibly small. Perhaps it's the wrong season, but I saw prices a week later were only a third of what I'm paying now. The heating is okay during the day, but insufficient at night, making it a bit cold to sleep. The worst part is the bathroom—tiny, with no separation between wet and dry areas. Even when the room is available, extending the check-out time by an hour is strictly prohibited. I saw that my room isn't cleaned until 3 PM, so extending by an hour shouldn't be a problem. The cleaning staff are very nice."

Hotel Not Hotel Amsterdam ★★★
"Amazing place Staying at Hotel Not Hotel Amsterdam was easily the highlight of my trip! It feels less like a standard hotel and more like staying in a living art gallery. We stayed in a [insert room type, e.g., secret bookcase room], and it was such a cool, quirky experience. The design is incredible, the bed was very comfortable, and the vibe is just so creative. If you want a stay you’ll actually remember, this is the spot!"
