Five stars overall. The hotel is located next to the exhibition center, right by the Yellow River. The upper floors are the hotel section. It's about 1-3 kilometers to various city attractions and recommended restaurants, easily accessible by walking, cycling, or taxi. A slight hiccup occurred when I arrived at 11:30 PM. Check-in was smooth, but entering the room was truly a nightmare… there was a very strong, disgusting smell of smoke… Even though I was exhausted, I requested a solution… Surprisingly, their initial reaction was to offer to remove the smoke?! That was definitely unacceptable, especially late at night with my family. Subsequently, they said, ”Tonight we'll upgrade you to room XX, but tomorrow you'll have to move back.” Regardless, I needed to get my child settled first, and then I continued to communicate with the hotel's backend customer service through Ctrip later that night. The next morning, I received a call from the hotel's customer service department. First, there was an apology, and then the solution was that we could stay in the upgraded room until we checked out. Overall review: Very satisfied. All rooms are on high floors with good views. The breakfast is rich, with a few dishes changing daily. The service is excellent, and the housekeeping is also very thorough. There's a complimentary late-night porridge in the breakfast area, and the variety was much richer than expected. I'd like to specially commend the service team here. Their responses were prompt, and the results were satisfying. Thank you. As a first-time visitor to Lanzhou, you were my first impression of the people of Lanzhou. So, Lanzhou is great, and I'll definitely be back!

For this trip to the Northwest, we stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at both the beginning and end. We stayed in two different rooms for a total of three nights, and it was very comfortable. Returning the car was also convenient. The hotel even upgraded our room type and provided free breakfast for our child. The hotel's beef noodles were delicious, and the freshly squeezed juice was very refreshing.

Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations, from the amenities to the incredible hospitality. Outstanding Service The highlight of my stay was the exceptional help from the front desk, specifically Mr. 芦彦林. Since I don't speak much Chinese, I was worried about the logistics of my trip to the Bingling Temple Grottoes. Mr. 芦彦林 went above and beyond by making several phone calls to my driver to ensure every detail was coordinated. He was incredibly thorough, asking the driver many detailed questions to make sure my trip would be smooth and safe. His kindness and dedication truly made my visit stress-free. Great Amenities and Breakfast The buffet breakfast was excellent. There was a wide variety of high-quality options to choose from, providing a perfect start to a long day of sightseeing. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Prime Location You couldn't ask for a better location in Lanzhou. The hotel is situated right by the Zhangye Road Pedestrian Street and within walking distance of many major attractions, including Zhongshan Bridge. Accessibility: It is very close to the subway and numerous bus lines, making it incredibly easy to navigate the city. Convenience: Plenty of shopping and local dining options are right at your doorstep. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lanzhou, especially international travelers. The service provided by Mr. 芦彦林 and the rest of the staff is world-class!

The room was nice, and the location was good. It's about a ten-minute walk to the Provincial Museum, and very convenient to take a taxi to the city center. The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. However, the night light didn't have a switch; it stayed on constantly once the key card was inserted, which wastes electricity and affects sleep (the night light under the sink pointed directly at the head of the bed). Several Mercure hotels I've stayed at have this same design. I'd suggest adding a switch for the night light.

My recent stay at this hotel truly showed me what exceptionally thoughtful service looks like. I had an early high-speed train to catch, and on that morning, it was drizzling, a bit chilly, and the roads were slick. Worried about missing my train, I packed in a hurry, feeling flustered and anxious. On my way to the high-speed train station after checking out, as I was organizing my belongings, I suddenly realized I had left my most important ID card in the hotel room. I panicked instantly, feeling both anxious and regretful. An ID card is essential for travel; without it, I couldn't board the train, and my entire itinerary would be ruined. With the train departure time fast approaching, I had no time to go back to the hotel myself. I was at a complete loss and incredibly stressed. In my慌乱, I immediately called the hotel's front desk. The person who answered was Xiaowang, a front desk staff member. Over the phone, my words were rushed and incoherent, conveying my panic about leaving my ID and the urgency of catching my train. Xiaowang listened patiently and gently throughout, showing no hint of impatience. He calmly reassured me, telling me not to panic and to relax, promising to immediately help me search for it. After hanging up, Xiaowang went to my room right away to search, carefully checking every corner. Because I had packed in a rush, the ID card was in a rather concealed spot, making it difficult to find. However, Xiaowang didn't cut corners; he meticulously searched and checked everywhere, and finally, he successfully found my ID card. After finding the ID, knowing my train was leaving soon and I wouldn't have time to go back and forth, Xiaowang thoughtfully and proactively suggested that he could arrange a delivery service to send the ID urgently to the high-speed train station, ensuring I wouldn't miss my trip. This kind of service isn't a mandatory offering from the hotel; it was entirely Xiaowang's sense of responsibility and empathy that drove him to help a guest in need. On a rainy morning, with a considerable number of guests checking in and out, he still took time out of his duties to carefully verify my identity, confirm the station's location, quickly contact a reliable delivery person, and thoroughly explain the delivery requirements. He handled the entire process efficiently. Throughout, Xiaowang kept me updated on the search progress and the delivery status, allowing me to stay informed while en route, slowly easing my anxiety. The poor road conditions due to the rain added complications to the delivery, but he was dedicated and responsible every step of the way, without a single complaint, remaining gentle and patient. His extreme sense of responsibility made me feel incredibly secure. Ultimately, thanks to Xiaowang's excellent arrangements, my ID card arrived at the high-speed train station ahead of time, allowing me to check in and board without any delays. He truly solved my immediate crisis. For travelers, unexpected incidents are the most dreaded. Xiaowang, with his sincerity, attentiveness, and exceptional service, resolved my mistake and embarrassment. He made me, a solo traveler in an unfamiliar city on a chilly, rainy day, feel a profound sense of kindness and warmth. His attitude reflects true dedication, and his detailed service shows great commitment. Xiaowang not only possesses excellent professional skills and efficiency but also a rare kindness and genuine desire to help guests, proactively offering thoughtful solutions. He perfectly embodies the warmth of this hotel's service, which goes beyond standard procedures to offer service that is personal and heartfelt. I am incredibly grateful for Xiaowang's tremendous help. This unexpected hiccup actually made me love this hotel even more! I stayed in a 4-person room. The room was minimalist and medium-small, with lockers – basic but comfortable. The common area is stylish and inviting, with plenty of seating, cozy corners, plants, kettles, and power outlets, though it’s on a high floor with a glass ceiling – warm when hot, cozy when cold, and the few fans aren’t always enough. The staff at the desk were friendly, laundry facilities available, though no snacks or cold drinks. The area is urban, among regular buildings, so not particularly attractive from the outside, but within walking distance to the museum and the metro station, with a large supermarket and several food options nearby. Overall, a decent place to stay in Lanzhou.

For a short stay in 兰州, you have a great variety of hotels to choose from, with most good ones in the 350 range. At 517 before taxes, this one - on reflection was a little bit expensive for what was offered. Knowing the gym in every single hotel was poor, I chose this one because of its proximity to leke, which is located on 兰州老街, which is a fantastic gym. The hotel lobby is very spacious with a smattering of chairs and sofas, and the usual calming music. The breakfast buffet was limited, though at 88, it is good value. Plus I’m a picky eater and generally don’t enjoy food so you can discount that. The room itself was spacious enough and had enormous windows, and with a bathtub right next to the window, every morning was definitely relaxing. However, the water temperature cannot be controlled, and for my personal taste, wasn’t hot enough. Tea and coffee making facilities were average at best, and only glasses were offered, no porcelain cups. That is however, simply an observation. Finally, I would say that the pillows were too small/soft. If you’re a side sleeper and have wide shoulders, you might need to stack them 3 high. When we checked in, there were already cracks on the ground in the shower area, and you can refer to the photos for details. The room advertises a lake view room, but the actual view is mainly French floor-to-ceiling windows. Basically, you can see the gap between the buildings outside the window, and there is a certain gap with the expected lake view. More satisfied, the room is relatively clean as a whole, and the water pressure is very sufficient. We booked two rooms with a small price difference, but one of the bathrobes was provided and the other was not. In addition, the shelf for toiletries in the other room was also broken, and it was inconvenient to put the toiletries on the ground. The shower is also crooked and cannot be kept in a more suitable position. Not sure if this is the hotel's intention to set it up like this, or because of the hotel's regulations or the facilities themselves. Also, for personal reasons, we applied for an extra blanket from the hotel, but the hotel could not provide it. The floor in the shower area was already cracked when we checked in, as shown in the photos. The room was advertised as having a lake view, but in reality, the view was mainly of a French window overlooking the gaps between buildings. On the positive side, the water pressure was strong and the room was clean. We booked two rooms at fairly similar prices, but bathrobes were provided in only one of the rooms. In the other room, the shelf where the toiletries were supposed to be placed was also broken, so we had to put the toiletries on the floor, which was quite inconvenient to use. The showerhead was also tilted and did not stay in an ideal position. I’m not sure whether this was intentional or due to the hotel’s regulations or setup. We also requested an extra blanket for personal reasons, but unfortunately, the hotel was unable to provide one.

The room was very clean and tidy, the owner was very nice, and the surrounding facilities were complete. I recommend staying here.

It's a great place to stay if you know the location, but it can be a bit challenging for foreigners. Even I, who speak a little Chinese, wandered around for about an hour, especially since I couldn't understand a single word of the local language. Still, I managed to find it, despite the twists and turns. I was grateful for the early check-in. However, my first impression wasn't so positive. I encountered a guest smoking a cigarette in the living room, which was quite casual. Next, the room was so dark that even with the lights on, it felt like nighttime. Nevertheless, the bed was comfortable, and all the amenities were there. There was even a small folding desk. I was impressed by the owner's sense of style. However, the bathroom sink was constantly littered with cigarette ash and the smell of cigarettes permeated the room. This was a mixed-use space, which was a real challenge. For non-smokers, the smell is excruciating. My throat eventually swelled. It's a good place for smokers and those who are very familiar with Chinese. I wouldn't recommend it to non-smokers or women due to the shared bathroom.
