AAnonymous UserThe hotel is incredibly close to the Santa Maria Novella train station, which is very convenient. It's also within walking distance of the city center and other attractions. The hotel's decor is elegant and charming, with a classic, antique feel. The front desk staff and restaurant staff were all warm and friendly. There's an elevator, but each one is quite small, only fitting two people at a time. However, the stairs are easily accessible too. The carpeted floors mean that footsteps don't disturb others. Upon check-in during Christmas, we received local specialty Christmas cookies (Prato almond biscuits) and a greeting card, which was a lovely touch. On New Year's Eve, there was a harp performance in the lobby, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The hotel breakfast was abundant and delicious! The room was very spacious; there was plenty of room even after placing our luggage. The hotel mentioned it had been renovated in 2025, and I really liked the floral wallpaper and bedspread. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, providing a 2-in-1 shower gel/shampoo and conditioner. The staff noticed we were two women and thoughtfully replaced our towels with two pink ones the next day – very attentive service. The air conditioning worked excellently, keeping the room very warm. The window overlooked a small inner courtyard, not the street, so it was quite quiet. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

GGuest UserActually, all kinds of facilities were available. Having a laundry was a great advantage. In general, the staff were very kind and friendly. The cleanliness was excellent — nothing to complain about. Everything was perfect and I definitely recommend this place. The beds were sturdy as well; even when someone sleeps on the upper bunk, you don’t feel any disturbance on the lower one.

AAnonymous UserPros: While we checking in there was someone carrying luggage for us to our room, there was a bottle of wine and two small bottle of water as complimentary for the first night. Location is near to S.M. Novella Station and bus station so it's a perfect. Breakfast was a 4 star standard and the taste more or less the same throughout my trips in 3 different hotels so no complain. Cons: the shower pressure was really small and the heater inside the room was not working, after the first night experience we asked the front desk the next morning if they could check for us but ended up the shower pressure was really small, if there is a measurement lowest from 1 to highest 5, the pressure was definitely 1. So we aren't sure if they did send someone to check or not but one thing for sure they never update us after that and the heater switch remains the same as before I complained. It was really cold. One evening around 7pm - 8pm as the hotel is actually located kinda like an alley and bit darker so a guy was suspiciously following us at our back and we have to almost run back to our hotel and while we ran he speed up as well so it's really scary better not to be alone walk back hotel. Overall, location and breakfast are good. Service could be improved imo.

SShenlan7155Out of the three hotels we stayed at during our 9-day trip to Italy, the 'Indo' in Florence was our favorite. The room was small but incredibly well-designed, making efficient use of the limited space so it never felt inconvenient. It even had a small balcony and a free mini-bar. The exterior of this 'Indo' was perhaps the most unassuming I've ever seen, but inside, the brand new, vibrant carpets and strong sense of design were impressive. The service and cleanliness were also excellent. It was conveniently located within walking distance of the train station. All in all, I really loved it and had a great experience.

GGuest UserI arrived early on the day of check-in, and even though it was before the official check-in time, the front desk staff proactively helped me get into my room early, which I really appreciated. However, the room I was assigned had a noticeable issue: not only was it right next to a storage room (for some reason, I always get these kinds of rooms in Italy), but there was also a strong sewer smell inside. I initially thought that since they had already accommodated my early check-in, I should just put up with it. But after I showered, the odor got even worse, making it impossible to endure for three consecutive nights. Upon returning later, I went to the front desk to request a room change. This time, a different female staff member was on duty. She seemed very reluctant, her expression showing annoyance and a lack of professionalism. Although she eventually did change my room, the bathroom in the new room was almost half the size of the previous one, and I'm not sure if it was even the same room category. It wasn't until the next day that another front desk attendant proactively apologized for the previous room issues and acknowledged the bad smell. Overall, this stay was a mixed bag, with inconsistent service quality.

GGuest UserThe apartment is clean and equipped with everything you need. The bed is comfortable, the room is spacious. The check-in instructions were clear. The noise from the street was disturbing. Even with the window closed, you can hear the sound of every passing tram. It is no coincidence that earplugs were prepared, although they cannot improve the vibration caused by the passing tram much. And a personal note. In my previous booking, at other accommodations, the host's communication - despite the fact that there is no personal meeting - usually includes some kindness and personal attention. This was not the case here, although it would have been nice.

11382321****The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk from attractions like the Duomo, and roughly 25-30 minutes from the river. Of course, you can also take the bus – there's a bus stop right next to the hotel, which is quite convenient. The room itself was pretty clean. It's not a large hotel, but the crystal chandelier in the room was so beautiful and romantic. The guy at the front desk was really nice and spoke fluent English.

Ttung tung shamDuring my recent trip to Florence, I had the pleasure of staying at the Anglo American Hotel. Overall, my experience at this hotel was delightful, and I would gladly recommend it to fellow travelers. First and foremost, the location of the Anglo American Hotel is superb. Situated in the heart of Florence, it offers easy access to the city's major attractions, including the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Uffizi Gallery. The hotel's central location made it convenient for me to explore the city on foot and truly immerse myself in its rich history and culture. The hotel itself has a charming and elegant ambiance. The interior is tastefully decorated, combining classic elements with modern touches. The common areas, such as the lobby and lounge, are inviting and provide a comfortable space to relax after a day of sightseeing. The staff at the Anglo American Hotel deserves special praise. From the moment I arrived, they were friendly, professional, and attentive. They were always ready to assist with any queries or requests I had, and their local knowledge and recommendations were invaluable in helping me navigate the city and discover hidden gems. My room at the hotel was spacious and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable, and the room amenities, including a flat-screen TV and minibar, met my expectations. The cleanliness and tidiness of the room were maintained throughout my stay, thanks to the diligent housekeeping staff. While the hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, it does offer a delicious breakfast buffet each morning. The breakfast spread was varied and catered to different tastes and dietary preferences. I particularly enjoyed the freshly baked pastries and the selection of local cheeses and cured meats. One minor drawback was the absence of a fitness center or spa facilities within the hotel. However, the staff was helpful in providing information about nearby fitness centers and wellness options, ensuring that guests have access to these amenities if desired. In summary, my stay at the Anglo American Hotel Florence was a delightful experience. The prime location, attentive staff, and comfortable accommodations contributed to a memorable visit to this beautiful city. While the absence of certain amenities was a minor drawback, it did not significantly impact my overall satisfaction with the hotel. I would recommend the Anglo American Hotel to travelers seeking a centrally located, well-appointed hotel with a charming ambiance in Florence.
