First, head to the metro station and go through security checks. This is a routine procedure where you’ll need to pass through a metal detector and place your bags on the conveyor belt for scanning. Make sure you don’t carry any prohibited items.
Once through security, head to the ticket machines or counters to purchase a ticket or tap your Hangzhou Metro Card or mobile payment (using Alipay or WeChat Pay) at the gates to enter the station. If you have a physical ticket, insert it into the slot, and the gate will open.
Follow the signs to the platform for your desired line. The trains are clearly labelled with their destination on the front and sides, so make sure you're getting on the right one.
When you reach your stop, follow the exit signs, and tap your metro card or scan the QR code at the gate to exit. If you’re using a ticket, simply insert it again to open the gate.
