The location is absolutely unbeatable, right in the heart of Melbourne's city center. Stepping out, you're immediately at St. Paul's Cathedral and Federation Square, with major shopping areas and attractions all within walking distance, making getting around and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel itself boasts a style of understated luxury. The rooms are spacious, with a high-quality decor, and the bathroom amenities are top-notch, ensuring a very comfortable stay.
The service throughout was attentive and thoughtful, with professional and detailed concierge and turndown services that were promptly delivered. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering a full range of both Chinese and Western options with fresh ingredients. The only minor downsides were that the building has some age, with a few facilities showing their years, and during peak breakfast hours, it can get crowded with a slightly slower refill rate for dishes. Overall, it remains a prime choice among Melbourne's high-end hotels, perfect for both business trips and leisure stays.

Anonymous UserHad a comfortable stay for 3 nights. Hotel about 15-20mins walk from city centre and can pop onto tram in free tram zone. Toilet bowl had a smelly drainage smell which holds presence in the air everytime you flush, was pretty unpleasant.

If you’re looking for a stylish, central place to stay in Melbourne, Quay West Suites delivers in all the important areas.
📍 Prime Location
Quay West’s address on Flinders Lane puts you right in the heart of everything. A few steps takes you to the iconic Yarra River, Federation Square, and Melbourne’s best shopping and café districts. Whether you’re in town for business, arts, or dining, having public transport, laneways, and nightlife within easy walking distance is a huge convenience.
✨ Impeccable Cleanliness
From the moment you enter the foyer, the high standard of cleanliness across public areas and suites is clear. Plush carpets, sparkling bathrooms, and neatly made beds—everything felt fresh and immaculate throughout my stay. Housekeeping did a flawless job refreshing the room each day without ever interrupting my schedule.
👨💼 Friendly, Attentive Service
Customer service here is both professional and warm. Front desk staff greeted me by name and were quick to offer directions, recommend hidden-gem eateries, and help with luggage. Room service was punctual, meals were presented beautifully, and every staff interaction made me feel genuinely welcome—not just another guest.
🧭 Thoughtful Facilities
It’s the little things at Quay West that stand out:
• A well-equipped kitchenette in each suite––perfect for a relaxing breakfast or a quick late-night snack.
• In-room laundry facilities saved me from hunting down laundromats mid-trip.
• The comfortable lounge and communal spaces offer a quiet place to work or unwind.
• Gym and heated indoor pool, both kept spotless and perfect for a post-city exploration cooldown.

Guest UserOur family of three stayed for one night. First, upon check-in, our room wasn't ready because cleaning was still in progress. We waited in the lounge where we were offered snacks and drinks. It took about 30 minutes, and as an apology, we received two bar vouchers.
So far, so good. However, the next morning at 9:30 AM, a cleaning staff member came to our room to ask when we would be checking out. Check-out was at 11 AM, so I don't understand why they needed to come to the room to prompt us to leave. Then, 15 minutes before check-out, someone came to the room again, saying there was an apology gift (bottled beer and Coca-Cola, which were inconvenient to carry). We also received a call from reception. Our relaxing morning was completely ruined. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful stay.

TangTangAdventuresGreat location! Easy travel to all parts of city with tram station right in front of hotel. And Chinatown at Little Bourke St is just behind the hotel. Room is well appointed with lots of amenities except I’m curious why no sugar sachets provided with the teas ….

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel, and my first day was great. The pool facilities were excellent, and I even had the whole pool to myself when I went for a swim. However, on the second day, when I returned to my room at 10:30 PM, it hadn't been cleaned at all. There was just a sign saying to notify them if I needed housekeeping. Seriously, at 10:30 PM, do I have time to wait for them to clean a room that hasn't been touched, with nothing moved? I'm extremely disappointed with W's service. This isn't even peak season for the hotel, why wasn't the room cleaned? Is it because they knew I was only staying two nights, so they treat a solo guest like this? I can't accept it. I don't even bother calling to complain anymore.

The hotel is located on a small street, yet it's incredibly convenient for getting around, close to everything, but far enough from the hustle and bustle to offer a unique sense of tranquility. Most of the staff and management are of Indian descent, and they seemed to lack enthusiasm, although there were some Chinese staff members we didn't interact with much. The breakfast was quite disappointing, especially compared to the much richer options we're used to in China – there was hardly anything to eat here. A heads-up: the entrance is on the ground floor (G), but check-in is on the first floor (which we'd consider the second floor in our country, haha).

The hotel's location is pretty good. The one-day tour I booked met right outside the Windsor Hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away. Both Red Apple and Green Apple supermarkets are within walking distance, and Chinatown isn't far either, making evenings very lively. The hotel facilities are admittedly a bit old, but the hygiene is decent. Breakfast is just okay, but it's filling, and surprisingly, they even offered congee. When checking out, since I paid a cash deposit, I had to wait a while for them to inspect the room before I could get my money back and leave. After the room check, I realized I'd left a piece of clothing in the room. The staff brought it down for me, neatly folded and presented it with both hands, which I really appreciated!

For my 21-day trip to Australia, I stayed in 11 hotels across Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Here's my ranking of the best to worst experiences (with value for money considered):
1. Capella Sydney (low value for money)
2. Park Hyatt Melbourne (high value for money)
3. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto (medium value for money)
4. Crown Towers Melbourne (high value for money)
5. Le Méridien Melbourne (medium value for money)
6. Hilton Adelaide (medium value for money)
7. The Langham Melbourne (low value for money)
8. Citadines on Bourke Melbourne (best value for money)
9. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (high value for money)
10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel Melbourne (low value for money)
11. The Hotel Windsor Melbourne (worst value for money)
Now, let's talk about the InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto. Like The Windsor, it's a heritage hotel, and its beauty is undeniable. It truly looks like a 19th-century Neo-Gothic Venetian castle! Located in the heart of Collins Street, it's one of InterContinental's most luxurious heritage hotels worldwide. When you stay here, you can't help but spend time exploring, as both the exterior and interior decor are magnificent, and the room facilities are top-notch. It's definitely worth a stay.

马丽We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is great — a pleasant area that isn’t overcrowded with tourists. The rooms are excellent, with large queen-size beds, which was very important for us. The hotel also offers a good range of facilities, including a pool, sauna, and breakfast. While the breakfast is not very extensive, it is perfectly sufficient for a few days and includes all the essentials. There is also an option to order food, which is very convenient. We would definitely be happy to return to this hotel on our next visit to Melbourne. A big thank you to the staff for everything!
