GGuest UserThis was a wonderful stay. After a short tour of Yufuin, the shuttle service I'd requested arrived in front of Yufuin Station. We enjoyed welcome tea in the lounge and were then guided to our accommodation. Having a Korean guest made it even more comfortable. The accommodation was clean and spacious, with everything we needed. The fridge was free of charge, and the coffee was delicious. Think of it as a private, standalone pension. The bathroom and sink were separate, both spacious and comfortable. The hair dryer and curling iron were also provided, which was incredibly convenient. Usually, hotel hair dryers are weak and take a long time to dry, but this one was the best! The manager and staff were all friendly, and I went with my mom and was very satisfied. The photos don't show everything, but this was the best accommodation I've ever stayed in Japan. I'd love to go back with someone special!

GGuest UserWe went to Fukuoka for Chinese New Year, and since my husband loves hot springs, we decided to stay two nights in Yufuin. The inn's location was superb, close to Lake Kinrin, and very quiet. Just a short walk away was Yufuin main street. We booked late, so our only option was a Japanese-Western style room without a private hot spring, which was a pity and a bit disappointing for my husband. Our 'one-night, two-meals' plan was incredibly filling, featuring what seemed like kaiseki cuisine plus either wagyu barbecue or wagyu shabu-shabu. I'm not really an expert on kaiseki, but I could definitely tell the food was exquisite and fresh. Since we don't speak Japanese, the inn assigned a young, English-speaking waitress to attend to us throughout our stay, which was very thoughtful. As I mentioned, the food portions had many courses, and we were quite full by the end. When the waitress asked if we wanted rice and we replied 'just a little,' she seemed genuinely concerned, thinking perhaps we didn't like the food 😅. I wanted to tell her we were simply already full. As for the downsides, my husband found the toilet a bit far from the sink, especially in the private toilet within the bedroom. The inn also didn't offer laundry service; staff advised us to use the laundromat on the main market street if we needed to wash clothes. In the end, we decided against it and waited until we returned to Fukuoka to do our laundry at the hotel there. Also, I imagine the inn is a traditional Japanese establishment, and the staff are quite principled. We were late arriving due to unfamiliarity with the transport, so dinner was pushed back to around 7:30 PM. They seemed a little displeased but remained composed. On our way back, as our preferred train/bus tickets were sold out, we had to leave earlier. The inn was accommodating with our breakfast time. We initially asked them to reduce the portion for the child and just serve scrambled eggs, but they insisted on serving the full original portions, telling us to eat as much as we could. Their reasoning was that since we had paid, we should receive the full amount we ordered, which we respected. We simply didn't want to waste food. Overall, we were satisfied and really appreciated the Japanese culture and traditional decor in all aspects.

GGuest UserThis is a quintessential Japanese onsen ryokan. We enjoyed a delicious wagyu kaiseki dinner and breakfast in our room, though the dessert was a bit simple. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by both meals. The ryokan has four different communal baths (onsen) for men and women, which we made sure to enjoy every morning and evening. Soaking in the open-air bath while gazing at the sky was incredibly relaxing.

The room came with a massage chair, and the private outdoor hot spring was designed for both privacy and scenic views – definitely a high-end treat. The room was exceptionally clean and fully equipped. For my family of five, I booked two rooms – one Japanese-style and one Western-style – both offering excellent spaciousness. We slept very comfortably and ate well. Highly recommended.

고고래박물관I rented a car, so it was great to be close to the main street. On the first day, I walked out, and it took about 20 minutes. This was my third hot spring trip, and each time I've chosen places with private baths in the room. It was so cold that the temperature of the outdoor bath dropped a bit, so even after getting out, it was chilly. However, there was also a bath inside, which we used well. Only two large bath towels were provided per night. If you wanted more, you had to pay a rental fee of 110 yen per towel. There were no other regular-sized towels, so if you wanted to use the bath multiple times, you had to dry and reuse the same towels, which was a bit inconvenient. If you want to take pretty photos in the bath, you need to wrap yourself in a towel, which means you definitely have to rent one. I've traveled frequently both domestically and internationally, but this is the first time I've had to pay extra for towels, which left a bad taste in my mouth. Breakfast and dinner were just okay. The staff were friendly, but the food wasn't great. It wasn't that it tasted bad, but rather that it wasn't particularly delicious or memorable. Please note there's no shuttle service. Still, it was meaningful to be able to enjoy a hot spring in the snow.

PPatty STLove private indoor and outdoor onsen the most. Really relax and nice cute villa. Cozy and good quality of bed sheets/blankets. Only a couple points for improvement. No door code being provided in advance prior to the arrival date and I had to make a call in order to get the access code. I can’t find the light switch in the dining room. Later find out that it was a remote control to turn it on. No instruction. However, overall I like the house especially the private onsen.

GGuest UserThe stay was perfect - from the moment of arrival. Staff greeted us at the parking & took our luggage. The room was very clean. All the staff were very friendly & professional. We stayed on a less busy night. The ryokan gave us a sense of tranquility, which is a good place to recharge, especially with the in-room onsen. The breakfast & dinner were excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel. This hotel is quite high on the hill, best to drive it take taxi.

JJackyKingA great place for one stay and two meals 😬 The hostess was very welcoming and the roast beef for dinner was very delicious. We didn’t understand Japanese but she was still very patient and used the translation tool to explain the different parts of the beef to ensure that the guests chose the desired parts. For example, Wagyu beef has fat and heel. Thin and so on. There is an outdoor and private open-air bath, which is very suitable for family guests. And there is a parking space right outside the door, which is very convenient. Highly recommended👍

大大力斯The third hot spring hotel on this trip is located in the middle of the mountain and is more suitable for self-driving. The hotel also has a private car to pick you up, but you must make a reservation first. The hotel is located halfway up Yufudake, a must-visit for those who love nature and scenery. When checking in, you just need to give your name and arrive on time, without complicated registration; the butler is already waiting to prepare the room, and also introduces the surroundings of the hotel and how to use the room facilities in detail, which is very considerate. The hotel decoration is a mixture of traditional and modern styles. It is built on the mountain and blends with nature. It feels very harmonious! The independent house we stayed in was spacious and equipped with an outdoor semi-open-air private bath. The water temperature reached 55 degrees, coupled with steam and light rain, it was full of affection! The kaiseki cuisine and Japanese breakfast are of good quality, and the puffer fish sashimi and black wagyu wild vegetable hot pot are unforgettable. Fortunately, I was walking along the outdoor path in the morning and encountered wild deer looking for food. I was extremely excited!
