3-Star Hotels in Deqin

This is a typical Tibetan-style guesthouse, built by the river. The hygiene and facilities are quite good. The owner warmly invited us to have dinner with them; the owner's wife's homemade chili sauce was delicious. However, to be fair, the small road leading from the main road to the guesthouse passes through a sand quarry and has a significant elevation difference, which is inconvenient. It's recommended that you contact the owner before you arrive to see if you can park on the main road and then take the small road down.

I booked this hotel when I set off for Yubeng by myself. The hotel owner added me on WeChat five days in advance and gave me detailed instructions on how to check in, which was very thoughtful. It took us four hours to walk from the outside into Yubeng. As soon as we entered the village, we could spot the hotel sign, so it was very easy to find. Given how difficult it is to get into Yubeng Village these days, it's truly remarkable that the hotel still offers breakfast. While the breakfast isn't luxurious, it's a buffet where you can eat as much as you like. Since we had an early start for Shenhu Lake the next morning, the owner kindly helped us find a guide and even provided free crampons for us to use! They also thoughtfully asked if we wanted them to pack breakfast for us to take on the road the next day! In the evening, there were wooden tubs for foot soaks, which was a lovely touch! The hotel also has two adorable kittens, and you can see the beautiful snow-capped mountains right from your room!

The owner upgraded our room, and we got to see the snow-capped mountains right from our bed! The best part is how convenient it is, right at the village entrance, saving us a lot of walking. If you want to stroll, the lake is just a stone's throw away. After hiking, we didn't want to take another step, so it was perfect. The restaurant's simple meals weren't too expensive, around 40 RMB was enough to fill up, and guests even get a discount. The underfloor heating in the room was excellent; my clothes got wet in the rain, but I spread them on the floor and they were completely dry by the next morning. After a tiring hike, I just lay on the floor – it was like a sauna, and I felt so much better almost instantly.

We were incredibly lucky to witness the 'Rizhao Jinshan' phenomenon (golden mountain bathed in sunlight)! The hotel's views are absolutely stunning (just ignore that big crane, haha). You get an unobstructed panorama of all thirteen Meili Snow Mountains. The owner was super enthusiastic; as soon as we arrived, he warmly explained the best ways to view the mountains. After showing us to our room, he even turned on the humidifier, oxygen machine, and floor heating for us. The hotel is very clean, and in the morning, you don't even need to go down to the observation deck; you can simply watch the snow-capped peaks from your balcony. The hotel thoughtfully provided large, thick blankets, which was a very nice touch.

The twin room is spacious, and the bedding is soft and comfortable. The underfloor heating system provides thoughtful warmth, ensuring the high-altitude nights are no longer cold. The en-suite bathroom is well-equipped with ample hot water. 3. **Warm and Attentive Service** Breakfast includes authentic minced pork rice noodles. **🏞️ Environment & Location** **Location:** Situated in Yubeng Upper Village, it's the starting point for the Ice Lake hiking trail. **Surroundings:** A quiet and peaceful ******* village, far from the hustle and bustle. **Transportation:** Approximately a 10-minute walk from the entrance of Yubeng Village, offering convenient access in and out of the village.

The best decision I made on this trip to Meili was choosing this guesthouse! As soon as I opened the door, I was stunned by the panoramic floor-to-ceiling window – Kavagarbo Peak was right there, completely unobstructed. The snow-capped mountains and glaciers felt so close, as if I could reach out and touch the sacred summit. In the morning, I didn't even have to brave the cold to go outside; I could just lie in bed and wait for the miracle of the 'sunlit golden mountain'. When the first rays of dawn painted the snow peaks golden-red, the awe I felt was something I'll remember for a lifetime.

Had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. The front desk even upgraded our room and included breakfast. The owner personally brought an oxygen tube to our room. We had a great view of the snow-capped mountains, and there's a restaurant and shops conveniently located downstairs.

The room was cozy, clean, and comfortable, with a tasteful decor throughout. The underfloor heating and diffused oxygen supply meant we didn't have to worry about altitude sickness at all. The staff were warm and friendly! There's also a cafe and an observation deck on the top floor where you can see Baima Snow Mountain and Feilai Temple. The afternoon sun was perfect for photos, and the scenery was absolutely stunning! The hotel's location isn't far from the Meili Snow Mountain observation deck, so transportation is very convenient. There's a snack street near the Feilai Temple observation deck, and watching the snow-capped mountains in the evening is beautiful—highly recommended! The hotel's restaurant is on the first floor, which is super convenient if you don't feel like going out in the cold.

Getting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area. The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.

We arrived in the evening and had dinner in the guesthouse's restaurant. The owner treated us to a delicious local wine. Our room offered a direct view of the snow-capped mountains, unlike the view at Feilai Temple, where the peaks were much closer. The next day, at sunrise, we could watch the sun set over the Golden Mountain from our room. There's also a viewing platform on the first floor, offering unobstructed views of the stars and the snow-capped mountains. The owner warmly invited us to dinner at her sister's home. The cooking was excellent and delicious! It also allowed us to experience ******* culture. The owner's daughter was adorable, not shy at all, and constantly entertained us. It snowed heavily the day we left, but thanks to the owner's guidance on a safe route, we arrived safely in Shangri-La. If I ever visit Meili Snow Mountain again, I'll definitely stay at this hotel.
