2-Star Hotels in Deqin

Firstly, this has to be one of the nicest places which I stayed at in Yunnan, or in China for that matter. You may be thinking that is price is good to be true, but this place performs well above what is to be expected of that price range. I was originally planning to stay elsewhere in Benzilan, but am very glad that I stayed here. The rooms are super spacious with high ceilings and wooden furniture. The view out of my window was very green and calming. The amenities were all well-maintained and very clean. The pictures really don't do the rooms the justice that they deserve. Secondly, and very importantly, the owner - a young Benzilan local who operates the hotel with his mother - is exceptionally kind, genuine and friendly. As a solo traveller, he helped organise transport, offered lunch, and even some of the local liquor. As far as service goes, this place remains unbeaten amongst all the places I've travelled in China. The hotel overlooks the mountains surrounding Benzilan. In the evening, you can peacefully sit outside the hotel on its elevated terrace and quietly watch the mountains as the sun goes down. I would not hesitate to stay again.

This was a truly satisfying stay, and I was extremely pleased with the overall experience. The guesthouse boasts a fantastic design with a strong ******* aesthetic. The check-in lobby is grand and spacious, equipped with both an elevator and stairs for convenience. A huge thanks to the owner for upgrading our room – it was a wonderful surprise! There aren't many rooms on each floor, so we didn't have to worry about being disturbed. The room itself was incredibly spacious and impeccably clean, creating a very pleasant environment. It featured a smart home system with oxygen supply, and even a humidifier, covering all daily necessities. The comfort level was very high, and the comforter was thick and clean, keeping us warm. The large indoor windows and the balcony offered excellent views. Being away from the snack street also ensured a very quiet atmosphere. The owners were exceptionally kind and friendly. They provided complimentary pick-up and drop-off from the bus station, and also drove us for meals, stargazing, and to see the 'sunlit golden mountain.' Any issues could be resolved by simply going to the front desk or giving them a call – they were incredibly helpful. It was a fantastic living experience. Although we didn't get to see the 'sunlit golden mountain' this time, which was a bit of a shame, travel always has its little imperfections. I'll definitely book here again on my next visit to Meili. Finally, I wish the owners and their family great success and prosperity in their business!

The hotel environment is quiet and elegant, and the room was spotlessly clean with great natural light and ventilation. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, always ready to help with anything we needed, paying close attention to every detail. It offers excellent value for money, making for a comfortable and worry-free stay. I highly recommend it!

It was incredibly heartwarming from the moment I arrived, completely dispelling any sense of unfamiliarity or distance. The accommodation itself was also a delightful surprise – clean, tidy, cozy, and comfortable. The room had great natural light and ventilation, a sensible layout, and felt spacious without being cramped. The hygiene was impeccable; the bed was soft and clean, the bedding was odorless, and the bathroom was dry and neat. Even the corners were spotless. All essential amenities were provided and in good working order, making the stay very convenient and hassle-free. Plus, the location is incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, ensuring a perfectly undisturbed night's sleep. I compared many accommodations, and this one truly excels in terms of environment, hygiene, and service. The attention to detail is evident, clearly showing how dedicated the owners are to running this business. The overall stay experience was perfect, with absolutely no complaints. I paid a reasonable price for an amazing experience – the value for money is off the charts. I sincerely believe this place is highly recommendable. We stayed in Yubeng during a week when access to the village was closed, and we were the only guests at the hotel. It’s located near the trailhead to Ice Lake and not too far from Lower Yubeng and the Sacred Waterfall (the return hike is steep, but anyone coming to this place should be prepared for long and demanding walks!). There was no room service during our stay (like trash collection), but the hosts were friendly, and the food at the restaurant was very tasty and fairly priced — especially considering the logistical challenges of stocking the kitchen. The room is simple but comfortable. The towels are disposable, which is a bit strange at first, but you get used to it (they actually dry you well). The view from the hotel balcony is unbelievable — definitely worth paying extra for a room with a view. We would happily stay there again.

I genuinely think this is the best value-for-money hotel in Feilai Temple! Absolutely worth it! The room was small but had everything I needed. I booked it last minute after deciding to arrive a day earlier. It was very warm, clean, and the facilities were new. The service was also excellent; both the front desk and the owner were very polite. I would have extended my stay if they weren't fully booked today.

Amenities: They provide heated blankets and a graphene heater, which was a lifesaver since it was snowing the day I visited. Without them, I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep. If it's going to be really cold, I'd suggest booking a place with floor heating, as this one doesn't have it. Location: It's not too far from the viewpoint, but there's a building under construction diagonally across the street, which slightly impacts the view. The rooftop has its own viewpoint with several tripods available for use. Service: There's no elevator, and even though we had luggage, no one offered to help us carry it up.

They say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise. Let's talk about the downsides: 1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road. 2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though. 3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

The biggest pleasant surprise of my Yubeng trip was definitely this guesthouse. Opening the window revealed a breathtaking vista of snow-capped mountains and pristine forests; when shrouded in mist, it felt like a fairyland. Waking up to that view each morning was truly healing – the scenery is so stunning it left me speechless! What made it even better was the warm service, especially from the front desk staff. They were incredibly enthusiastic and attentive throughout, patiently helping us plan our hiking routes, reminding us of important precautions, and even proactively drying our soaking wet hiking shoes after our treks. The attention to detail showed so much warmth. Staying here offers both the tranquil beauty of nature and the thoughtful care of family. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Yubeng!

Right in the middle of Upper Yubeng Village, the location is fantastic for easy access to the lakeside and the Nish Line. They serve all three meals, which are super delicious and generously portioned. The staff are incredibly warm and helpful, and most importantly, it offers amazing value for money. Trust me, you can't go wrong choosing this place! 👍
