The hotel's facilities and environment are quite good, but the service severely falls short of the price. I didn't experience much service at all. There were more managers than service staff. As a consumer, I paid a premium for the service on Chinese New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, but there was absolutely no service to speak of. The management team outnumbered the servers; they just stood there giving orders instead of providing service. We had to pay a deposit for dinner and were given a strict dining time, yet after waiting for over an hour, not all the dishes had even arrived. The ice-cold egg tart made me wonder if it was a hotel specialty. A bunch of managers stood around pointing fingers, but not one of them noticed the service issues, leaving all customer complaints to a group of temporary staff. I came here to relax and enjoy the Spring Festival with my kids, not to find hotel problems and experience workplace politics.

Guest UserThe hotel boasts elegant and grand decor, and the room amenities and bedding are incredibly comfortable. The food is also delicious, and I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting in the restaurant, especially for the small tables by the window. Currently, there are only ceiling spotlights, and if they don't align with the tables, it leaves the dining area in darkness. This prevents the dishes from being properly highlighted, diminishing their visual appeal and taste, and also detracts from the overall ambiance.

Guest UserWhat was the best hotel in Yuyao. The service and amenities are still excellent though the hotel is getting work and dated now. With competition from the newly opened Hilton nearby Iād expect theyāll need a refurbishment program in the near future.

The hotel service was excellent. Check-in was fast, and the room was spotlessly clean with no strange smells. All the facilities were complete and in good working order. The environment was quiet, so I wasn't disturbed by any noise. The staff were gentle and polite, and they resolved any issues promptly. There are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. My stay exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest UserThis time, I brought my pregnant wife for a two-night stay at the Cordis Hotel Ningbo Dongqian Lake, and overall, it exceeded our expectations, especially thanks to Annie.
Location and Environment:
The hotel is right by Dongqian Lake, and the gardens have a charming Jiangnan aesthetic. An evening stroll by the lake was incredibly therapeutic.
Room and Facilities:
We had originally booked a different room type, but after Annie learned my wife was pregnant before our check-in, she proactively upgraded us to a room in the Baby Bella building. The room was very quiet, had excellent natural light, and the bedding was comfortable, allowing my pregnant wife to rest very well. The entire building offered high privacy and easy access, which is very friendly for travel during pregnancy.
Dining and Service:
Breakfast was abundant, with both local specialties and Western options. The service was consistently excellent, especially Annie, who meticulously coordinated our needs before check-in. During our stay, she helped us with the room upgrade and arranged for a quiet area. Her thoughtful and attentive service throughout made us feel very at ease.
Recommended for:
It's suitable for families with children, couples, and those traveling with seniors or pregnant women looking to relax. Nearby attractions like Xiaoputuo and Hanling Old Street are just a short drive away.
Special thanks to Annie for all her attentive service before, during, and after our stay, which made this short trip during pregnancy exceptionally warm.

1. The main advantage of the hillside rooms is the private hot spring. Other facilities, however, are quite a step down from the main Junlan building. The amenities are pretty old, and the bathroom design is poorly thought outāno mirror above the sink and no hooks or racks for towels. It fell short of my expectations.
2. The hotel lacks a kids' club, and the outdoor facilities aren't designed with families in mind, making it unsuitable for guests with children. Plus, the outdoor farm and other areas are really old, run-down, and poorly maintained.
3. Breakfast was just average, nothing special.
4. There was no butler service, and everything was just standard. They even asked for a good review, but honestly, I didn't experience any exceptional service.
5. Overall, the experience was quite mediocre. Especially the first few hillside rooms, which lack a balcony and a sofa, are very small and offer poor value for money.

markThis hotel is truly amazing, it completely exceeded my expectations. I've never in my life seen a hotel with such incredible value for money. This is the place I've always dreamed of staying; I can barely breathe without it, which just shows how important it is to me. I've been thinking about it day and night, and I finally got to stay! The service is great, and the breakfast is abundant! The environment is also nice, I'll definitely come again if I get the chance~

I had originally booked a different hotel, but then I kept seeing reports of snake bites just days before my trip. It scared me so much that I quickly canceled and booked the Park Hyatt instead. It was an experience that left much to be desired.
Since I was coming from Fenghua, I arrived around 9 AM, hoping to just store my luggage and go out to explore. I didn't even ask to check in. The staff member at the front desk who handled my request was quite enthusiastic, but for some reason, the woman next to her seemed annoyed. She kept impatiently looking at her watch and giving the other staff member dirty looks. I couldn't stand it. If I couldn't check in, they should just say so clearly! I know check-in is at 3 PM, and I wasn't expecting to enter the room immediately. It would have been much more pleasant if they had just told me directly rather than subtly giving colleagues the evil eye. The check-in process itself was very basic; they only answered questions and didn't offer any information about the hotel or its activities. Parking is also very far, and that distant parking lot doesn't even have a shuttle! You have to walk all the way to the front desk under the scorching sun or in heavy rain! If they have a shuttle service, they could at least install a call button for it in the parking lot. As for everything else, besides the scenery, there's nothing much to praise. The service was genuinely terrible. In contrast, the cleaning staff, the elderly gentleman guiding people at the main entrance, and the elderly gentleman sweeping at breakfast were all more enthusiastic than the front desk staff. Breakfast was mostly Western-style, with many variations of eggs, and the tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) were delicious (the same as at Qianhu Yugang, which I specifically avoided ordering when dining there). The freshly made sweet sesame pancakes were also tasty. I didn't get to experience the outdoor pool due to thunderstorms, but the indoor one was quite comfortable. I booked a renovated room. I guess these kinds of chain hotels are more suitable for loyalty program members. Most of the positive reviews I saw were from Globalists or similar.
The entire experience, the best part was dining at Qianhu Yugang. The service was good, and the food was also delicious. I guess this trip was just for the food.

Guest UserThis was definitely the 'beggar's version' ā clearly my status isn't high enough, there's a definite 'RMB smell' to it.
My husband, with his higher status, always gets welcome fruit, and even the mini bar has at least three drinks. As someone who tries to snag freebies, I can't help but laugh at myself; it just proves that good stuff isn't cheap, and cheap stuff isn't good.
Next time, I'll have to let my family member book the room.
After I posted on Xiaohongshu, the butler called that same afternoon. This kind of after-sales service is rare. I've said all I needed to say. Dinner at Qianhu Pavilion was even more expensive than the room itself. I'm speechless with myself. š

The Portman is my favourite hotel in Ningbo. Itās very conveniently located, close to the city centre, subway station, shops, and restaurants. Itās always quiet inside the hotel, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room had an iron, a washing machine, and a bath, and the bed was comfortable. I look forward to staying at the Portman again.
