Sveta Sofia Hotel
"Hotel was in an OK location with many of the tourist attractions within walking distance. Room was adequate and clean. Our shower door was broken so water went everywhere unless you held on to the shower head. Breakfast was very limited with no fruit or salad available."
Sofia Balkan Palace
"Having stayed in many 5 star hotels across the world, I had high hopes for the Sofia Balkan Palace, that unfortunately were only partially met. First let’s cover the good points! It feels historic without being old, and you feel like you’re really in Sofia. The best thing about the property is easily the location; it’s close to all the main tourist attractions, and there are good transport links right by the hotel, as well as access to some fantastic restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. The hotel rooms are modern and relatively clean, with the usual amenities. However, I was disappointed that housekeeping kept forgetting to replenish the complimentary daily water, as well as pay attention to the ‘Do Not Disturb’ light that I had selected for my room on a few days during my visit. I would say that one of the downsides is the customer service; although staff aren’t rude, I wouldn’t say they’re polite or overly helpful. The hotel has average soundproofing, and I was far too aware of the music outside, my neighbouring guests talking or listening to music in their rooms, as well as guests in the hallway (which is in part due to the layout of my room, which did not have an additional door between the bedroom and front door into the room). The noise outside does lessen and stop by about 11:00 PM, and sometimes by 10:00 PM (depending on the day). Overall, I’d still say it’s a good choice for your stay in Sofia. Especially if your priority is staying in a historical boutique hotel in a good location."
Maria Luisa by Introvert Hotels
"The best location. Free coffee and tea from the lobby. Self check-in and check-out. Cool details."
EasyHotel Sofia
"The hotel is in Sofía city center, 5 mins away from the metro station, ideal for budget travelers. The only disadvantage of this hotel is all the rooms are not soundproof, you can hear what others do in their room"

Vitosha Park Hotel - Free Indoor Pool & Parking
"Good bits first , on first glance the hotel is nice , good seating and relaxed atmosphere in the reception with a bar and restaurant , swimming pool , sauna , steam room , spa etc all nice , our room was spacious with two single beds room 301 , the TV needed replacing the picture suggested so , the WiFi was not good hit and miss , house keeping was absolutely horrendous they hardly came to clean the room , we had the same bedding for two weeks , rubbish we used to take it out ourselves and was once told to ta put in a bin outside of the front of the hotel , beds were never made , the room was never vaccumed and was only done once when my wife told a cleaner to do it , toilet roll we used to go to reception to ask for it. To finish the hotel has a lot of potential to be lovely but is badly let down by house keeping."
Europe Hotel
"The hotel was nice, but in a secluded area. One way street, and the underground parking was very dangerous to navigate. The sauna wasn't working. The breakfast was good."
Hyatt Regency Sofia
"Everything was great 10/10"
Atlantic Hotel - Free Parking
"We stayed with two young children for 4 nights whilst we attended a wedding in Sofia. The hotel is in a quiet location with parking. The staff on arrival are friendly especially George he made us feel very welcome and helped with our luggage. We stayed in the family room. The room was nice big and spacious. It is in need of a few repairs and upgrades. The sofa is dipped in the middle, the corners of the bathroom are grubby, the bath has jets that need gutting and the door to the balcony is hanging off and doesn’t close properly which is a safety concern. Breakfast is simple and not a lot was out although hot food is made at your request and room service is available. The breakfast staff were lovely. A young man called Alex was very impressive, polite and diligent. Such an asset to the company to have staff like Alex. An incident with the cleaner ruined our time here. We returned to our room to get ready for the wedding that we went to Sofia for to find the cleaners had turned the room upside down. They had pulled the sofa out and the larger lady with short hair yelled at us because there were crumbs from our children eating biscuits. She was very rude and refused to leave so that we could get ready. This made us late for the wedding. And it left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. My husband complained. And it was explained to us that they just want us to keep the room tidy. It was tidy there were just a few biscuit crumbs on the sofa and floor. We paid for house keeping and it was unreasonable of the cleaners to expect to clean already clean rooms. The fact that we were shouted out by the cleaner is outrageous. The lady with the short hair is a liability. You cannot shout and be rude to guests over crumbs on the floor and sofa. I don’t want to penalise the rest of the team for one hostile cleaner. The rest of the staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The outside area is beautiful especially at night. Lots of fairy lights. The staff are easy going and there is a play area in the gardens including a huge trampoline. There is a well which is covered so just beware to watch young children. The pool looks nice but is deep and cold. It would have been nice if it was heated but in September it was too cold to enjoy. Food is good and room service was great. Overall it was a comfortable experience and cost effective. "
B1 Boutique Hotel Sofia
"Rating: ★★☆☆☆ Does not meet 4-star standards What I liked: The hotel is clean. The room was spacious, and a technical issue with the toilet flush was fixed within the same day. Breakfast was acceptable. What I didn’t like: This hotel does not deserve a 4-star rating. At best, it could be considered a 3-star hotel, and even that with limitations. In my room on the 7th floor there was only one light switch at the entrance; there was no central or bedside switch near the bed. There was also no proper bathe tools storage space in the bathroom. The mattress was extremely hard and the bed very stiff, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. I experienced back pain and did not sleep well on the following nights. Breakfast was okay but nothing special, and it was unpleasant to be forced to listen to loud 1990s music playing constantly from a video. Overall, the hotel is clean but not cozy or comfortable. The staff were correct but not particularly welcoming or engaged with guests."
Earth & People Hotel & Spa - Free Parking
"Cold welcome, rooms at 30 degrees and not very clean with hair in the shower. I had booked massages in the hotel spa and when we showed up for our appointment we were told "it is not possible to do the massage" and this without any explanation. Not even a look in the eyes or an apology. Unheard of"
Sense Hotel Sofia, a Member of Design Hotels
"The room is quite small and the power goes out from time to time. The hotel is in a great location, in the busiest area of the city center. The swimming pool is nice. Free white wine is provided in the lobby in the afternoon, which is great."
