Hotels near Sofia Airport, Sofia

Missed the connection and had to book a hotel near the airport. This Ibis is fine for the night on a stopover but not much to do around. Still ended up going to town to eat and have a look around so would have been just as easy, and a bit cheaper, if I would have picked a city hotel. The room was two single beds and nothing much else included, reasonably clean but still expensive bearing in mind it is Bulgaria. Fine for late arrival and short stay if booked early.

The hotel is only more than 1,000 meters away from the airport, but the road is a bit winding, it is better to take the hotel’s airport shuttle. There is a timetable for the hotel shuttle bus, but there is no one to take the bus; the hotel is easy to handle at the airport, make an appointment with the front desk, it is no problem to leave on time; from the airport to the hotel, if you don't call in advance, you may not be able to wait for the bus! The breakfast was good. The hotel has a parking lot, which is very convenient for self-driving.

I missed my flight at sofia airport so had to book a hotel for one night. So I went for a mid range hotel. It was better than mid range. Lovely helpful staff on reception, an aceptable price with thier discount....paid 68 euros for a large kingsize bed with onsuite bathroom. Comfortable bed, fresh pillows (very snazzy cushions too) and a nice relaxing corner sofa, reasonable TV and every thing was realyl clean. Complimentary coffee and tea, which is not the norm in Bulgaria, nice and quiet, was lovely and warm. Actualyl a bit too warm and I couldnt turn the heating down so I had to sleep wit hte fridge open to cool off as aircon didnt work. THis was the only negative for me. They did an airport pickup, but not a drop off and this nearly stopped me booking, as they should have told me this at the begining, however they were saved by the fact the metro was 4 stops to the airport and cost me 1.60 leva, so about 70p. I picked up food from the little shops in the metro, as I hit a holiday so the restaurants close by were closed. A very lovely stay and Id go there again. AND they had these lovely drop lights near the bed as side lights, some veyr nice touches, clean crisp sheets, soft towels and nice soaps etc and they dont ask you to leave till 12 lunch time. Great stay. Very good staff and excellent service. Glad I chose Novotel. Very pleased with all their services and the efficiency. The restaurant had a great menu as well. Certain that I’ll stay here when I come back to Sofia next.

Well this was certainly something to remember. Stayed here back in May 2018 for a conference. The hotel is a cold was relic, which I would certainly not book had I had the choice. The lobby is huge and empty, and the rooms spread over numerous floors, sparcely decorated, giving you a cold and dreary feeling. The views over the dark city and sweeping, but the location is not central and did not offer anything to orient yourself. There is a quite good restaurant with local cuisine nearby. Sofia itself is worth a visit, the centre is quite interesting and the immense cathedral extraordinaty - worth a visit for its own shake.

Hotel location is good, 500m from Lion Bridge, the room decoration is older. Restaurant and service are ok.

The first time I came to sofia, I lived in Metropolis, and have stayed many times. Drinks are available, which is better. Breakfast is okay. There is no breakfast that is particularly suitable for Chinese people, but it is acceptable.

Upon arrival at the reception we had problems with the prepayment; It was not possible to pay the price without the prepayment already provided, after about 30 minutes it was possible in cash, not the preferred card payment; the employee justified this with a new computer system. The room was not air conditioned upon arrival and was quite warm; the shower does not drain normally and quickly fills up to the brim; The beds are a kind of box spring bed: for me (about 85 kg) the mattress was not comfortable. There was only few toilet paper upon arrival, so I called the reception after it was finished, but after about an hour nothing was delivered - not to be expected for a 4 star hotel! The bathroom fan is a bit noisier than I expected and should usually auto stop after a while (although it was connected to the lamp, it usually happens). The thick curtains easily detach from the suspension when closing, and the small room fridge is much too loud (noticeable at night). When exactly is breakfast should be in the folder (I didn't see it at first glance) I liked the breakfast, the orange juice could be freshly squeezed, there should be milk (and lactose free) next to the muesli, and there should also be gluten free bread, but overall good quality of the products; we didn't try the restaurant for dinner due to the high prices. fitness room: Directly the first machine on the left (for legs) doesn't work and it hasn't changed during the week's stay, although we complained, the note with this information had fallen under the bench, so not visible; but otherwise the hall is in good condition The pool is small and during the stay they closed it, it was soon announced that the pool heating would be repaired: heating at 35 degrees outside air temperature? Incomprehensible! I tried to speak to the manager but he didn't seem interested. After we asked for a discount because the pool wasn't working, at least they took away the note the next day. All in all, this hotel did not overwhelm us and we will not visit it again: high standards and beautiful pictures, but unfortunately no coverage in reality.

The bathroom is small. The room was clean. Breakfast is more general. The surrounding traffic is not very convenient. It is 2.5 km from the subway and 15 minutes if you walk.

I stayed here with my wife and two kids for two nights at the end of September, 2022. Very modern, bright, spotless, and comfortable property in the middle of it all in Sofia. Flawless experience- everything during our stay was perfect. Extremely polite and knowledgeable staff and great food selection for the room service- one afternoon, I took the kids out and my wife literally spent the entire time vegging out in the room. This hotel is up to the highest European standards, at a fraction of the cost of what you would pay for a similar property in Paris or London. Truly enjoyable experience- I wish we had more time to spend there!
