"This hotel is very centrally located, right next to a tram and metro stop. However, Sofia is perfectly walkable. The rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. The entire check-in process is online, but we had no issues. There are staff at the reception desk intermittently who were very friendly. Coffee is available for guests. Highly recommended."

"In general, the hotel is very good, close to Vitosha blvd and city center and clean, Standard Double Room is spacious enough The continental breakfast is sufficent but is served in the lobby and it is very weird, also it is overpriced to my opinion (15 Euro/person) Hot water in the rooms on the higher floors starts after several minutes of waiting after opening the handle of the faucet I would rate it as good 3 star hotel rather than 4"

"Positives: Great location. Minutes to Serdica, Lion’s Bridge metro stations and easy access to public buses, shops and eateries. Room was spacious and clean. Negatives: the door to enter the room is hard to open from inside- u need to step into the bathroom in order for the door to open wide. The area outside the room is not soundproof so the noise when people talk (in my case, kids talking and crying) is very loud and clearly heard."

"Overall cleanliness of the whole property is ok as the cleaner did her best from what I saw, but unluckily my bed was not as clean as I expected. Hope the color on my bed cover and pillow was stain not dirt (see pictures). Also when I wanted to extend my stay for the next day and came down to receptionist, he said he had finished his shift and asked me to come back in the morning, while his shift was actually not finished yet (there is a written information what time reception is supposed to close). Other than those two issues, it was a great stay, kitchen is spacious with stoves, sink, fridge, table and chairs, living room."

"A fine airport hotel So you have an early morning flight to catch at Sofia airport. This is a good place to stay overnight. They have a decent restaurant, the rooms are comfortable and they have a reliable shuttle service to the airport. I think that’s all you really need. The style is for young hip people, but if you’re old and not hip, it still works fine."

"The hotel is actually 🈶**. So the parking fee is expensive. About RMB 100 per night. The hotel is cost-effective, so we can actually ignore the old facilities. When checking in, the front desk gave me the second floor. I said I want a higher floor. There should be a manager next to me and said that you have to make a request. I said I have a request. I showed them the request I wrote. Because of the word count requirement, I wrote it in Chinese on Ctrip. The other party immediately said that we can't understand. I immediately responded, don't you have a translator? Then reluctantly gave me the sixth floor. 👌. When checking out, I especially want to praise the front desk lady with long brown hair. The service attitude is very good. I want to print the car insurance policy. She helped me one by one."

JJn_foodieBest 5 star property in Sofia hands down. .The room was spacious with contemporary and minimalist design but still very functional. There's even a divider between the bathroom to the rest of the room so it felt like staying in a junior suite instead. .The facilities were amazing, best indoor pool I've been to ever. It was fitted with all the aqua techs which provide so many massage options. There's also 2 types of saunas, a salt room, a steam room and even a ice tube filled with ice. .The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing .The service was so good because I was very frustrated and hangry as the QR code and the TV ordering system didn't work and I called the restaurant repeatedly and no one picked up. So I went down and spoke to Daria, who listened to my concerns and personally took me to the restaurant so that I can order something from the restaurant menu that I really wanted to take back to the room which is not supposed to be done. Diana from In Room Dining even came to deliver the food to my room for me, which actually wasn't her job. I felt looked after and treated like a guest in a 5 star property. To top it up, we decided to have lunch at the hotel restaurant after checked out and met Vladislav, who gave us an amazing service from food to drinks. Absolutely perfect. I will definitely come back to stay here next time I am in Sofia and will recommend it to everyone who's coming to Sofia.

GGuest UserThe Junior Suite was wonderful, essentially a studio apartment with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, large windows, a private balcony seating area and extensive shelf space. The bathroom was very modern with a very nice tall shower. The beds were very comfortable and the room was large, with a couch. Definitely a great place for both short and long stays. There were a few small inconveniences in the room, but nothing that affected our stay (water seemed to leak over the door of the shower onto the shower mat; toilet seat was very stiff and loud to open/close; closets were very wide but oddly short to accommodate extra drawers, so too small to hang dresses in full length; the automatic lighting inside the closets did not turn off correctly; and our key card stopped working in the middle of our stay and had to be fixed at the reception). The hotel is very close to a tram stop, so it's easy to get into the city center, and it's also very close to the Cultural Center. It is a bit more of a trek to walk into the city, but still possible in 20 minutes or so. The hotel is located on a small street off the main road and the sidewalk leading up to it is very narrow and in disrepair. You would not guess that the inside of the hotel is so sleek and modern based on the older surrounding area.

And it did not disappoint me. Hotel is clean with good fragrance that you can smell the moment that you’ll enter the lobby / reception. Service is great, friendly and accommodating staff. The room is spacious, seems like a 4 star room for me. They serve breakfast, with tons of seats where you can relax after check in while waiting for your next trip or flight. I forgot my bag in their lounge area / lobby before I went to their restaurant to take coffee. Then was in a hurry to go to the car service I booked outside when it was already time to go to the bus station going to Romania. After arriving at the bus station, I noticed that my bag is not in my possession, when I was about to get my other phone. Because I have other luggages to carry and was in hurry. I was worried sick that it will be lost, my bag, glad that it was there. The staff handed it over, they kept it, and nothing was missing. After getting it, I got an email from the booking app where I booked the hotel, telling me that Amar Design Hotel contacted them saying that I left my bag at the hotel. And they were asking for my contact number to reach me, they were to kind to do that right immediately. But I already got the bag. Still thankful and grateful to their staff. I would definitely check in here again when I get back to Sofia, and will recommend it to friends who are traveling here. Thank you. It was a nice stay, and their service made it even great!

GGuest UserThe attitude of the receptionist was unprofessional, rude and unacceptable. For one hour, the whole hotel didn’t know how to charge my credit card, as their credit card machine doesn’t follow EU rules for 3D security, thus jeopardising clients’ private data. I wasted a full hour on the phone with my bank, only to find out that the hotel doesn’t follow rules on how to securely handle credit card data. The management kept telling me that it’s my fault, despite the fact I never before have had problems with card payments before. Breakfast food was decent, with a choice between a couple of set menus. The hotel was clean, rooms were quiet, and it was situated and in a convenient location, within 3-4 minutes from the nearest metro station. Some of the photos on their site are dated, as the interior is different now.

The hotel’s location is excellent—easily accessible and close to many key attractions, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious, with a variety of well-prepared dishes that satisfied our expectations. However, the dinner service during New Year’s Eve was noticeably slower, likely due to the large number of guests celebrating the occasion. While the wait was understandable given the holiday rush, a bit more efficiency would have improved the experience. Overall, Hotel Budapest offers great food, a prime location, and a welcoming atmosphere. With a little attention to service during peak times, it’s an excellent choice for a stay in Sofia!

However, the facilities are a bit old, and the breakfast selection isn't very extensive. The soundproofing in the room was poor; there was a constant whooshing sound – I couldn't tell if it was the elevator, the metro, or the trams outside.

OOlCrWanted a cheap place for my weekend stay, and this place also looked cute. Whilst the rooms were fun, the general hallway and shared spaces were not so clean. Despite being told there was free luggage storage, this was unavailable when I arrived - I wasn’t even given a key to my locker in the room. One guest had told me his shoes had been stolen on his first night, so you can imagine I was concerned for my luggage as I could not store them securely. Ended up checking out early, finding a cheap hotel that promised privacy and security.
