To my surprise, it exceeded all my expectations! Hygiene, environment, service, and facilities all scored a perfect 5, making it the highlight of my trip. 【About the Room and View】 As described during booking, I stayed in a room with club lounge access. The moment I opened the door, I was truly amazed – a huge floor-to-ceiling window directly overlooked Sakurajima volcano! Whether it was watching the volcano faintly appear through the morning mist or admiring the city lights come alive in the evening, this view was absolutely breathtaking. The room's interior design was modern and simple with excellent natural light. Staying in such a spacious environment by myself instantly lifted my spirits. 【About Facilities and Service】 As someone meticulous about details, the hotel's cleanliness put me completely at ease; every corner was spotless. - Gym: The equipment was new and comprehensive. Running on the treadmill while enjoying the view outside made the workout feel effortless. - Club Lounge: This was a major highlight of my stay! The environment was elegant and quiet, offering not only comfortable sofa areas for relaxing and reading but also dedicated dining areas and a bar. For a solo traveler like me, it provided both a sense of social security and the freedom of personal space. 【Highly Recommended: Natural Onsen and Foot Bath 🛁】 This was definitely the biggest bonus of my stay! The hotel has its own natural onsen, which is a savior for travelers who have been walking all day. The most thoughtful touch was the outdoor foot bath. If you're traveling alone like me or are a bit shy about public large onsens, this foot bath is absolutely perfect! Sitting on the wooden steps, soaking your feet in the warm spring water, and looking up at the indoor garden scenery – the feeling of relaxation is truly indescribable. This was my first trip to Kagoshima, Kyushu, and your hotel's setting was absolutely stunning, offering distant views of Sakurajima volcano. The hot springs within the hotel also have excellent water quality, especially the open-air bath where you can gaze at Sakurajima. If the weather is good, you can even catch the sunrise around 5:30 AM, truly experiencing the majestic power of nature! The hotel's buffet breakfast lived up to its reputation and was definitely worth the price! Plus, there's a free shuttle bus service daily from Kagoshima-Chuo Station to the hotel. All in all, it's a high-quality hotel well worth staying at for anyone visiting Kagoshima.

Good stay, with clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast has more of western style, less of Japanese food, but the view of Sakurajima can be seen from restaurant. However in the morning, you may be eating under the sunshine, so better to go for breakfast either very early or much later, not when 8 plus as the sun is strong and you may be given a window seat for solo traveller and when the restaurant is packed.

The location is excellent, right outside the JR station. The deluxe room is more spacious, but the bathroom is still very, very small. The bed is quite large and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast is served until 9 AM.

I've stayed at Dormy Inn Kagoshima multiple times, and everything about the hotel is excellent. Location: The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from JR Kagoshima-Chuo Station. The Sakurajima Ferry Terminal is also roughly a 10-15 minute walk away, making it very convenient for getting around. The Tenmonkan shopping district is right nearby, offering great options for shopping and dining. Cleanliness: The hotel's facilities are relatively new and kept spotlessly clean. Service: The front desk staff are very professional and highly efficient. Other: The onsen (hot spring) is fantastic. Although not large, it even has an open-air bath (rotenburo), making for a wonderfully relaxing soak after returning to the hotel.

The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Tenmonkan. The ground floor features a lobby, and a restaurant further inside, which seemed very popular with locals in the evenings. If I revisit Kagoshima, I'd definitely like to try their food. My room was on the 5th floor and I appreciated how spacious it was. I found the flyers for local events posted in the elevator very useful; thanks to them, I even got to see a signed Shohei Ohtani ball! :)

Nice room with the view of sakurajima island in some room direction. Room is nice and good for the price. Only drawback is although close to Kagoshima station, it’s a quite location and you need to walk 5 mins to convenient stores. Restaurant is also limited and close early.

The service attitude of the hotel staff is very good. The interior of the hotel is very clean. There is breakfast service and the hotel is located near the Tenmonkan shopping street. I really recommend everyone to stay here for one night.

Even though this is an old hotel and it shows in its facilities and overall design, the service and amenities you get as a solo traveller is worth thw price you pay for an overnight stay. The room is clean albeit small but sufficient. Some points to take note if you're planning to book: This is close to the central station so it's juat a block away from major shopping and transport options. The hotel closes its front desk and doors at 11 pm to 7 am. Checkin before 11 pm. Going in and out of the hotel at that time is possible if you use your key card to open the front doors. Walls are thin and it's very possible that you would hear your neighbor. There's free coffee and drinks at the lobby.

It was too far away from Kagoshima-chuo Railway station to walk. Have to take the bus. First city in Japan that I could not use my SUICA card on the buses. Make sure you got small change. However, it's only about 10 minutes walk to the Tenmonkan Street, the shopping/eating area in Kagoshima. Nice kitchen if you want to do your own cooking. There is a vending machine on the 4th floor with beer and vodka on the rocks. Also, there are 2 laundry machines and dryers - one set on the third floor and the other on the rooftop. The rooftop had a gas dryer which is much better at drying clothes.
