Hotel Noir Kagoshima Chuo Station

Within a 10-minute walk from Kagoshima-Chuo Station. Amenities include: comb, toothbrush, washcloth, razor, body towel, bath towel, rinse-in shampoo, body soap, hairdryer, and pajamas. Check-in was easy and smooth, even though I booked only an hour beforehand. You check in using an automated machine. There are many Don Quijote stores and izakayas nearby. I would like to stay here again.

Kagoshima, the filming location for Hebe Tien's 'Soulmate' music video, was simply stunning with Sakurajima in the background. I also visited Makurazaki and Ibusuki. Everything was great, except for the local pork specialties, which I'm not a fan of. Highly recommend!

This is a great hotel. After exiting the JR station, you just cross the street and then walk down a covered path. Don Quijote and 7-Eleven are located on this path. Check-in and check-out are done via a machine with a Chinese interface. It prints a small slip with your room number and then dispenses your room card. The room was surprisingly spacious, with enough room to open my suitcase. The bathroom amenities were complete, and there were about four or five hangers, plus an air purifier. There's no kettle in the room, but you can borrow one from the front desk, along with many other items like power adapters, irons, and hair dryers (though there's already one in the room, perhaps for simultaneous use). When storing luggage, they give you a small tag.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the station, located right in the shopping arcade. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, which is really convenient. The hotel facilities are excellent; the TV is new, which is a nice touch.

I stayed for two nights, but there was no room cleaning on the second day. On the morning of the second day, a bag with towels was left at my door, so it was just a towel exchange service. It wasn't particularly inconvenient, but since I wasn't informed beforehand, I couldn't put out the trash, which was a bit of a hassle. It was a huge relief to find a laundry facility in front of the reception where I could wash (detergent not needed) and dry my clothes.

I didn't get to fully explore Kagoshima this time, but I'll definitely go back and do it properly. This hotel was just a stopover for me to catch a baseball game, so I picked one near the station that offered good value for money. It was quite comfortable with a stylish vibe, right in the middle of the shopping area, and only about a 3-5 minute walk to the station. There are plenty of great places to explore around the station, and you can also take the city loop bus to nearby attractions.

There are many restaurants nearby, and it's close to the central station. I was a bit disappointed that the room was smaller than I expected, but the izakaya right next door had great food, and I even hit a 7-in-a-row at the ******** parlor right next door, so it wasn't a bad experience overall.
