Guest UserSheraton Kagoshima | Perfect Solo Trip Experience, Watching Sakurajima + Onsen Healing 🌋♨️
【Basic Information】
🏨 Hotel: Sheraton Kagoshima
📅 Check-in Date: June 19th - June 22nd
👤 Travel Type: Solo Traveler
【Overall Rating】⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
I came to Kagoshima for a solo vacation and chose the Sheraton after seeing it recommended by a travel blogger. To my surprise, it exceeded all my expectations! Hygiene, environment, service, and facilities all scored a perfect 5, making it the highlight of my trip.
【About the Room and View】
As described during booking, I stayed in a room with club lounge access.
The moment I opened the door, I was truly amazed – a huge floor-to-ceiling window directly overlooked Sakurajima volcano! Whether it was watching the volcano faintly appear through the morning mist or admiring the city lights come alive in the evening, this view was absolutely breathtaking. The room's interior design was modern and simple with excellent natural light. Staying in such a spacious environment by myself instantly lifted my spirits.
【About Facilities and Service】
As someone meticulous about details, the hotel's cleanliness put me completely at ease; every corner was spotless.
- Gym: The equipment was new and comprehensive. Running on the treadmill while enjoying the view outside made the workout feel effortless.
- Club Lounge: This was a major highlight of my stay! The environment was elegant and quiet, offering not only comfortable sofa areas for relaxing and reading but also dedicated dining areas and a bar. For a solo traveler like me, it provided both a sense of social security and the freedom of personal space.
【Highly Recommended: Natural Onsen and Foot Bath 🛁】
This was definitely the biggest bonus of my stay! The hotel has its own natural onsen, which is a savior for travelers who have been walking all day.
The most thoughtful touch was the outdoor foot bath. If you're traveling alone like me or are a bit shy about public large onsens, this foot bath is absolutely perfect! Sitting on the wooden steps, soaking your feet in the warm spring water, and looking up at the indoor garden scenery – the feeling of relaxation is truly indescribable. You get to enjoy the healing benefits of the onsen without any awkwardness, offering maximum privacy!
【In Conclusion】
If you're traveling to Kagoshima alone or looking for a place to relax and enjoy the scenery, the Sheraton Kagoshima is definitely worth a second visit. Here, it's not just about spending a night; it's about indulging in the luxurious time of gazing at the volcano and unwinding in a foot bath.

Guest UserIt was our first time travelling to Kagoshima and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. There are no keys or cards issued for room access, and all you need is the pin code or QR code. I really like that the room has the essential items that you will need during your stay - microwave, stove, washing machine. The hotel do not do housekeeping on a daily basis but it was all good for us as they do refresh the towels everyday. They also provide a water dispenser and ice machine at Level 1. The location of the hotel is fantastic - bars and food joints are just walking distance away and there is a 7-11 at each end of the street. I would highly recommend the hotel for any travellers.

Highly recommended hotel! The front desk staff are all super enthusiastic, and I even met a lovely Chinese girl working there. The breakfast is really rich and delicious, and the late-night ramen (Yeming Noodle) was also very tasty – the lady serving it was really busy! The hot spring on the 14th floor, though not large, is very clean. I stayed in a single room, and there's an extra door between the room and the main corridor, which made it very quiet. The airport bus stop is very close to the hotel, just two traffic lights away. Kagoshima is a beautiful place, and everyone I met was so kind and helpful. It’s also been a sister city with Changsha for over 30 years.

a350ryomaThis hotel's location is super convenient, right in the heart of the Tenmonkan area, with the tram stop directly in front. It's walking distance to the bustling downtown and plenty of restaurants, so exploring and dining out was a breeze. The hotel and rooms felt new and clean, making for a very comfortable stay. The artificial carbonated hot spring in the public bath was fantastic for soothing away travel fatigue. I especially enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor, with amazing views of Sakurajima while savoring dishes made with local ingredients. The staff were also very attentive and polite. Overall, I'd say this is a highly satisfying hotel.

KHop5mins' walk to Kagoshimachuo Station. Could hear trains passing by now and then but it doesn't really affect sleep. Polite staff. We stayed for two nights and got slightly different breakfast options each morning which is a plus!

I was impressed by the friendly staff, all of whom had the biggest smiles. Kagoshima Chuo Station is about a 20-minute walk away, straight along the main street in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of local Kagoshima ingredients and traditional dishes, as well as a wide selection of sweets, making it a delightful experience from the start of the day.

YaneI stayed 5 nights in Kagoshima for a leisurely trip. The hotel has 12 floors with 4 rooms per floor and 2 elevators. There was only one staff member at the front desk, but they were very friendly. Check-in and check-out were done via a self-service machine. Rooms don't have keys; instead, you get a 4-digit passcode.
**Pros:** The rooms are spacious, perfect for families, and some even have bunk beds. Each room comes with a kitchen and a washer-dryer combo, which was super convenient as I cooked dinner three times. The hotel is located between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and the Tenmonkan shopping district. Both are about 900 meters away, and since Kagoshima city center isn't that big, you can easily walk around the commercial areas.
**Cons:** As many have mentioned, the breakfast isn't great. There are only five simple options. In Japan, if you don't eat breakfast at the hotel, it can be quite challenging and time-consuming to find something outside.
