"The location is perfect, close to 3 metro lines. The room is big and the workers are kind. I will choose the hotel again when I visit New York next time."

Bathroom & rooms updated to brand new Walking to Times Square at night safe and easy and 12 minutes ! Catching subways easy access Love New York"
"Excellent service, generous desk staff allowed us to check in at 9am for no cost as the room was free, excellent room with great views. Right next to multiple subway stations."
"Very good hotel location. It is away from the main time square area but very walkable. It is also very close to Penn station which means if you have luggage is it a walkable distance to the hotel. Front desk was very helpful in recommendation of places to eat and how to travel to locations. Hotel was clean and organized , had water refill station and gave free water upon check in. Rooms were well sized and clean"
"As a youth hostel, it's great. The location is excellent for shopping and catching the train. It was snowing heavily, making for a fantastic experience. Convenience of check-in: High; Safety: The surrounding area felt okay; I felt safe going out at night."
"Location, all that matters. Staff was great, helpful, and kind to help us all the way. Especially the person at the door with whom I had a very personal and meaningful conversation. Fireplace in the lobby, next level spot for your socials. Breakfast is not really my thing. European taste (even Australian one) is very different from local US ones. It's good to have, but around, there are always options."
"Brought my family to New York City to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in the checkout the sites and I absolutely couldn’t be happier with my accommodations. Amazing service I couldn’t believe how awesome the front desk in the people taking care of our luggage before and after check-in check out. 5 STARS ⭐️ ALL DAY. Thank you 🙏"

Great
MMs. ShaniquaOmgosh ... hotel was really nice! Breakfast was excellent and it lasted til 11a, which is pretty awesome for those that like to sleep late. So many options (hot, cold and dry). They offer bacon, sausage, scrambled/cold boiled eggs and breakfast potatoes. Whole fruit (apples and bananas), sliced fruit (melons and pineapples). Cold and hot cereal (oatmeal). Yogurt and granola. You can make your own waffles or pancakes (such a cool machine). Make your own toast and/or select from many pastries or muffins available. So many options! You can even place an order vs. eating from the buffet. They also allow carry-out and to-go boxes. Drink options at the buffet include: coffee, O.J. and apple juice. PLEASE NOTE: There's a separate fee for breakfast if not selected when booking. Having said this, the hotel does not have microwaves in the room, just a fridge. There are microwaves located on each floor though (along w/ vending machines -both are in same location). Our room was spotless and absolutely spacious (no deviation from website)! We arrived way beyond check-in and did call once we knew we'd arrive later than expected. Spoke with front desk staff who assured everything would be OK, only to arrive and find that our room (which was already paid in full) had been given away. The hotel was only able to provide us a King and a rollaway bed. Of course we were disappointed, but the next morning the hotel Mgr. made everything right. Having said that, the rollaway bed is THE HARDEST THING EVER. We bring our own everything (e.g. bedding, cleaning supplies, etc.) so we were able to make it work and make it comfortable. So much so, we'd chosen to not to be moved to the room we'd originally booked. It rained our entire stay which is what caused us to arrive late in the first place (that's a whole 'notha story). Anyway, the hotel had a few small trash bins about the lobby catching leaks here and there, but that didn't stop anything. I barely even noticed. Had I not been recording how beautiful the hotel was inside, I would've never noticed. Parking is $30/day, it's NYC what do you expect? 🤭 There's also parking on the street if you can get spot. Careful though, NYC parking signs can cause confusion for those not familiar with the City's play on words. All in all, this was great stay for us and I'd certainly stay again. Oh, I forgot to mention -I did! Yes, I extended our stay another night because the hotel and location was exceptional! p.s. they also offer a seated bar area. Overall: 10/10✨️
KKitrynThis hotel is immaculate and absolutely everybody is above and beyond pleasant. Though not directly affiliated with the hotel, Inexpensive, super clean and very easily accessible parking is a two minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2 1/2 days of parking. The room was incredible. Exposed brick walls with super high ceilings, the bathroom had a huge tub and a wonderful shower. Pro tip: if traveling with someone that you do not want to see you naked, understand that it is not a one-way mirror over the bar and you absolutely CAN see into the shower While someone is showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so this was not a real issue. The restaurant within the hotel and the Ramen place directly next-door are both wonderful. I did not make it to the rooftop bar this time but since I absolutely will stay at this hotel every time I come to visit I will check it out next time! The room was extremely quiet, temperature was easy to control. Now, a little too much honesty, I am an extremely “sensitive” person, and resting and hearing so much from the second I stepped into this hotel. I was never scared, as I definitely don’t typically get scared, but I had numerous very genuine and very obvious things happen while I say that this hotel, such as seeing things walk across the hall in both my room and the hallway, in the main lobby bathroom someone walked into the bathroom and into the stall next to me, but never left, and when I looked, there was no one there, and I was in the shower. I could hear several men talking to each other as if they were right next to me. I was definitely not hearing people from another room. I also heard the door to the stair well open, which is right next to our room and I was right next to the door so when I looked, there was nobody there and I pulled it shut again. Just out of curiosity, as to what was there prior to the hotel, on the way home my daughter looked up the history to the hotel. Let’s just say it was very enlightening as to why i was experiencing so much activity in this hotel, especially on the third floor next to what I will assume would have been a fire escape at some point. It also may explain why the first thing that went through my mind when I opened the front door of the hotel and turned to my daughter and said “I’m surprised the hotel gets away with door opening inward. It goes against fire code. Anyway, You can look up the history yourself and understand all that I have said. :-) either way, a spectacular hotel at a decent price and a very safe and beautiful part of the city. I will definitely stay here again!
GGuest UserWonderful hotel! Perfect location as easily accessible to the subway (literally 2 minute walk). Very comfortable and stylish rooms. Great shampoo/conditioner/ body wash! Very glad we chose to stay at the Ace Hotel! Thank you.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very good location. Alexandra was so nice that she gave us a complimentary breakfast and accommodated us even before our check in time. It was a good experience. Although breakfast has a lack of food variety, it was good.
GGuest UserI would like to compliment Ms. Mariam Ibrahim for her outstanding and courteous service during my check-in at the New York Marriott Downtown. From the very first moment, her warm and cheerful personality made me feel right at home. She kindly suggested an upgrade to the 38th floor with access to the Executive Lounge at a very reasonable charge—a memorable experience for my family, as we had never stayed so high before. The view from the room was truly breathtaking, and even from the lounge we could see the Statue of Liberty, which made our stay even more special. Ms. Mariam’s professionalism, kindness, and positive attitude reflect the true spirit of hospitality. She is definitely well-suited as a frontliner, and her service made our stay an unforgettable one.
PPenelope ChenChenStay here for a week, nice location near the Wall Street and around 6 minutes walk to metro I like that water bottles are available all the time, can get enough hydrated day and night
GGuest UserManaged to arrive early and allowed early check-in at 1pm plus instead of 4pm. The caucasian woman stationed at the check-in counter was not the most friendly person. I passed her my credit card and was waiting for her to instruct me to sign for receipt. After a long pause, i realized i have to do something with the machine, and asked her where do i click for the machine. She did not respond kindly. I understand not every American has travelled widely and tends to provide poorer quality services as compared internationally. Hereby pointing this out, as a matter of fact, the hotel need to understand not every country use the same brand of credit card machine/POS as the Americans. The hotel staff should not expect foreign guests to know how the machine or hotel works. Also, there is no instruction on the machine ‘Please sign here’. The staff should at least provide a verbal instruction for signature on the machine. If the staff cannot be bothered with providing verbal instructions, please paste a visual aid on the machine at the minimum. Thankfully, the asian guy during check out was much friendlier and tried to start a conversation, but i was having a cold so i tried to minimise interaction. The interiors were old fashioned like in 90s. Fortunately, the room was clean and lit with multiple lamps around the room. As with most reviews, I was charged twice on my credit card on first day and last day each. Asking for a refund through my card service now as unauthorised charge was made on the last day and it wasn’t even on the receipt/expense report. I would gladly just pay for everything on my Day one, instead of going through such trouble. No receipt for deposit or cancellation, unlike other hotels i have been to. Service and amenities are average. No slippers available in the room. Locker for valuables provided. Own coffee machine provided in-room, but don’t set high expectations as it’s not Nespresso. There is no in-room dining menu for reference, even if i want to get. 30$USD destination fee per night is compulsory but exchangeable for 2hr bike rental in central park for two pax or food in the hotel. It feels like the hotel wants to charge you extra but don’t want to provide the service paid. I didn’t bother to purchase food from hotel as the reviews were average. Recommend to visit Los Tacos No. 1 & Broad Nosh Bagels a few blocks away for breakfast and lunch. The best point and only positive point is the hotel location. Just behind MoMA and near proximity landmarks such as Rockefeller Centre, and two streets away from 5th Avenue and Central Park. Only stayed here for convenience as a friend was also staying in the same hotel for business needs.
GGuest UserIt’s a friendly hospitality hotel. Great access to the rooms and the staff is friendly. Good around access to the metro and Times Square! Around a great hotel to book on.
