The room was small! But the lobby was incredibly grand, like a relic from the昭和 era, truly aristocratic! The check-in staff provided classic Japanese service – warm and polite! It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, but if you're taking the bus, it's super convenient because the bus stop is right in front of the hotel! My favorite feature was the radio by the bed in the room. The night I checked in, I tuned into a random station that was playing old Japanese songs, and every single one was so good. Listening to those Japanese songs while showering and packing made me feel like I'd traveled back to the昭和 period.

Stayed shortly for only a few hours as I had a flight to catch early in the morning. The bathroom was about the same size as the room itself. Comfortable bed but pillows were too soft. Prime location in Shibuya, out of the way of most of the noise and commotion but only a few minutes walk to the scramble crossing.

Overall, it's a great place and I would recommend it. Pros: 1. It's very close to the subway station, just a two to three-minute walk, which is super convenient if you have a lot of luggage. 2. The front desk staff are all very enthusiastic and friendly, and they speak English. 3. Fresh towels, toothbrushes, and other toiletries are provided daily. 4. The male and female dorms and shower areas are on separate floors. You need a key to enter the female dorm and shower areas, so safety and privacy are well-maintained. Cons: 1. You have to leave the hostel every day from 11 AM to 3 PM, which is quite inconvenient. 2. As with most hostels, a good night's sleep is hard to guarantee. You can hear the sound of luggage being wheeled around from morning till night.

This hostel isn't a capsule hotel, but rather a shared restaurant. I haven't stayed in a hostel in years. This time, traveling alone, I booked this one to give it a try. The location is okay. It's in a quiet neighborhood, not too far from Shibuya and Daikanyama, but not too close either. It's not particularly convenient, though there's a small subway station within walking distance. It's fine for a solo stay, but if you're traveling with elderly parents and children and have a lot of luggage, the location might be a bit out of the way. We booked a dorm room. Each room is about 30 square meters. There are about 10 bunk beds. The room was clean and quiet, but being assigned the upper bunk was quite inconvenient. The only storage locker was at the head of the bed, which was inconvenient for those who didn't want to wear outer pants and had to crawl over to put their belongings at the headboard. The overall environment and the hotel itself were very quiet, but the sleeping area was quite small. Unlike capsule hotels, with so many beds and people in the large open space, it's inevitable that you'll encounter people who come home late and mess around, making a lot of noise. There's also the sound of snoring and sweating... The front desk was often empty... The staff were a nice guy and a younger woman.

The hotel room ok (can open my 24” luggage widely), andthe bed comfortable, it does have elevator but the front door to the receptionist have some stairs but the staff kindly offer to help bring them down/up. I have no complaints, all good. The price a bit pricey but its in shibuya so it is expected. The shibuya train station around 10mins walking, and 1km to hachiko statue, a bit of uphill but its walkable. They offer free and variety of tea bag for you to take.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are nice. We ended up staying in the annex building which isn’t in the main building and can be a bit confusing. If you get lost, good luck because it’s not listed on Google Maps. Other than the room is very standard - limited space with all the necessities. The hotel is good value for the location, but it’s a bit of a walk to the train station and there are many stairs. Overall it was a good stay but I may choose somewhere else next time.

Pros: - It's located in a quiet area, a 5-minute walk from Shibuya, where the action is already happening. - Large room! - Large bed! - Large bathroom, heated mirror, so it doesn't fog up. - Convenient light controls on the panel next to the bed. - Different pillows for comfort. The blanket is super soft and heavy. - They provide a nightgown, slippers, a toothbrush, towels (of course), and pretty good bathroom toiletries. My hair was wonderful after shampooing and conditioning. Cons: - It's clearly old, but it still retains its charm. - Someone's socks were lying under the bed, and the carpet was dusty in some places. - The closet smelled slightly damp (I'm sensitive to odors). - The room's lighting wasn't very bright, with only the table and the nightlight above the bed providing illumination. It was almost completely dark in the evening (which has its charm, but it was a bit awkward to pack my suitcases). - There was one free outlet above the bed; I had a hard time finding the others, and they were all occupied. - There was no outlet in the bathroom (although this makes sense given the old hotel concept. I'm only writing this for those who want to book; it wasn't a problem because there was an outlet next to the mirror in the room). Actually, despite these downsides, I was just writing in more detail for you. Personally, they didn't bother me too much. On my next trip to Tokyo, I think I'll stay at this hotel because the price-quality ratio is justified, and the location is superb, the staff is lovely, and that noirish atmosphere adds a special touch. mood )

I really enjoyed so much at this hotel! So close to everything in shibuya but doesn't feel chaotic at all. The room looks smaller in the photos than it really is. They build the rooms in a very smart way and with 12m room i could open with no problem my 2 suitcases (the room also has a storage place for the suitcases underneath the bad!) The staff was so helpful with everything and they speak English very well. The hotel is also pricey but it was worth it!

It’s a tight fit room but this is Tokyo but it’s clean. No laundry here but I booked knowing that. The Akasaka station is a 9min trek but feels longer with luggage going uphill. So many stairs. The Tameiko-Sanno station is better with an escalator option from exit 12b but yeah still some uphill to the hotel. And it’s humid in Tokyo so it feels hotter! Lots of eating areas especially around Akasaka station. And there’s a 7-eleven next door :)

I am very satisfied with this hostel I chose for my Tokyo trip. The biggest advantage is definitely its proximity to the metro station; it made exploring the city so easy. The rooms and common areas were always spotless. The beds are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi speed is quite satisfying. They also have laundry facilities: it's 300 yen for the washing machine, 100 yen for detergent, and 100 yen for the dryer. It was very convenient!

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day. The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference. The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

GGuest UserQuite a disappointing stay. I initially thought it was a Dormy Inn because the first characters of the name were the same, and it was also a hot spring hotel, which made it very confusing. The service here was a world apart from Dormy Inn. The room was incredibly small. The breakfast in the pictures looked very rich, and I thought it would be a lavish buffet, but it turned out to be just a bento box, and they didn't even provide cutlery. The price wasn't cheap either. It really ruined my mood. The hot spring was also tiny, and they didn't even provide hair dryers in the hot spring area.

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob). Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn. They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park. However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay: 1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around. 2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

GGuest UserHere's a review of a hotel located in the heart of Akasaka, offering easy access to two subway lines. It's a quiet business-boutique hotel with more spacious rooms than similar establishments, making it ideal for commuting to the city center or exploring Roppongi/Akasaka. **Key Highlights (Reasons to Choose This Hotel):** 1. **Dual Subway Access + Central Akasaka – Convenient for Anywhere:** * Approximately a 4-minute walk to Akasaka Station and a 6-minute walk to Tameike-Sanno Station, covering multiple lines for easy access to Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station. Haneda Airport is about 45-60 minutes away. * Within walking distance of Roppongi, Tokyo Midtown, and Akasaka Sacas, boasting vibrant shopping and dining areas. A 7-Eleven is conveniently located downstairs, making daily life easy. * The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, making it a better option for rest compared to Shinjuku or Shibuya. 2. **More Spacious and Well-Designed Rooms Than Other Japanese Hotels in the Same Category:** * Standard rooms are approximately 15-18 sqm, larger than most business hotels in Tokyo, allowing two large suitcases to be opened without feeling cramped. * Comfortable bedding with memory foam/low-rebound pillows. Bathrooms feature bathtubs and smart toilets, with stable water pressure and temperature. Amenities are comprehensive. * Good natural light, with most rooms feeling bright and airy. Cleanliness is up to Japanese standards. 3. **Practical Facilities, Suitable for Long Stays/Families:** * A coin-operated laundry room is available on the 12th floor (washing 300 JPY/drying 100 JPY), and microwaves are on multiple floors, friendly for long-term guests. * A small, complimentary gym on the 3rd floor is a bonus for business travelers or fitness enthusiasts. * Cribs/children's amenities can be arranged, making it family-friendly. The front desk offers multilingual service, with fluent English, and handles luggage storage/package receiving efficiently. 4. **Consistent Service, Thoughtful Details:** * The front desk staff is enthusiastic and professional, responding quickly. Small items like chargers and hair straighteners can be borrowed, with some guests reporting feeling 'valued'. * Free high-speed Wi-Fi is stable. Some periods offer guidance.

GGuest UserShinjuku Granbell Hotel was my accommodation choice during this Tokyo Shinjuku trip. Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel. The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking. Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). For someone who enjoys walking, it’s manageable, but dragging large luggage or walking in the rain might feel a bit inconvenient. In short, the location is highly central and vibrant, but it’s not quite “step out the door and you’re at the station” level. Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch. Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue. In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

The only downside was limited space if you’re traveling with large luggage. The hotel’s location is very convenient it’s close to the train station and surrounded by plenty of restaurants.
