Hotels near Kita, Tokyo

"The location was really convenient - a short 5 minute walk from Oji station which has the Keihin Tohoku line making trips to Ueno, Tokyo and Ginza a breeze. Tabata station is two stops away which gives access to the Yamanote line for places like Ikebukuro, Shinjuku and Shibuya. There are a few convenience stores and supermarkets nearby too. I was able to leave my luggage with the front desk before the check in time. They were also really helpful with the self check-in process. The room was neat and tidy. I would say it was spacious enough for a solo traveller but couples or those with big suitcases might have trouble organising their luggage due to the limited floor space. The only downside I would say was a sudden stale smell emitting from the bathroom on one of the nights. I had to close to door to prevent it from spreading and the smell was still there the next morning but was gone after I came back likely from the daily room service. The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch too but there are also two nearby bakeries if you want more options other than the onigiri and miso soup they provide. Honestly, I wouldn't mind booking the same place when I come back to visit Japan."

"This is so far the best value for money hotel I have stayed in Tokyo in the last forty years. Akabane may not be a popular area for visitors, but I can assure you this is a very convenient location. The hotel is very close to train station and many train routes to Shinjuku, Ueno, Tokyo plus more. The hotel is modern and the room is large and clean, even the toilet, washing basin and shower area are all separated. You have to pay double or three times more in other hotels. There are many eating outlets around the hotel and they are excellent and much cheaper than other popular areas. The hotel even offer free afternoon tea between 3-5pm. You should try to stay at this hotel and use Akanane as a base to explore Tokyo."
