Palazzo Mannaioni is located in the historic center of Florence, in the ancient Santo Spirito neighborhood, also known as "Oltrarno" as it is located on the opposite bank of the Arno River from the other three ancient neighborhoods: Santa Maria Novella, San Giovanni, and Santa Croce. Via Maffia is one of the cross streets of Via di Santo Spirito and owes its name to the disciple and apostle Matthias. In medieval times, Maffia was also a feminine name. Santo Spirito has retained the distinctive characteristics of old Florence: narrow streets and alleys, artisan workshops crafting traditional crafts, small osterias, trattorias, and wine bars, antique shops, artists' and master craftsmen's workshops, and open-air markets. Here, Florentines love spending weekend evenings enjoying an aperitif, a stroll, a chat with friends, a delicious gelato, a pizza, and a casual dinner. You won't find a large sign to identify us, because we care about preserving the history of our city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You might also be confused by the house numbers: some are blue, others are red, and they don't appear consecutive; but they are a distinctive feature of bygone eras. Staying in the apartments of Palazzo Mannaioni is like being at home, amidst the history and culture of Florence and Tuscany. All the interesting places to visit are just a short distance away, and a relaxing walk is the most practical and beautiful way to reach them. The prestigious Mannaioni family built this palace in the 15th century as their city residence, but over time they focused their activities in Montaione, in the Florentine Valdelsa, on the border with Chianti. In recent decades, the palace has been converted into a hotel. We have preserved, emphasized, and integrated the ancient and historic elements, blending them with Made in Italy design furnishings to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
"The location is excellent, beds/pillows are good, the room is huge on the 5th floor.
It is not convenient to drive:
The check-in and Google maps do not understand how to get there, unfortunately the hotel did not warn and did not give instructions on the way. Turn on the previous turn to the left, to the pedestrian area, then to the right and further as the navigator draws.
It is written that the parking lot is not true. The parking near the hotel is not available, there is practically and parking for unloading things is difficult. Quickly pull out things and eat on a paid parking lot across the bridge (there is a discount from the hotel 10 euros. Payment will be 26 euros)."
