"This was an absolute gem of a place to stay. From the moment we checked in until we collected our baggage hours after checking out, we were treated to a great place with great service. The room itself was perfect. Very clean and comfortable and the view was amazing. We even slept with the blinds up - too good to block out! Unfortunately though we were only there for a night. Next time it’ll be longer."

"The hotel is quite large with many rooms. Its location is good, about a 5-minute walk to the tram's free zone, and there's a convenience store right opposite, which is very handy. Standard check-in is at 3 PM, but you can pay for early check-in."

"We stayed here for two nights and three days. The main advantage of this location is its proximity to Queen Victoria Market. Unfortunately, we visited around Easter, and the market was only open on the Saturday in between. Luckily, we made it on that day; otherwise, staying here would have felt a bit pointless. Regarding the room: 1. Space and amenities (a) We booked a triple room with two beds (one double, one single). (b) The overall flow of the room felt a bit cramped, with a table, luggage rack, and wardrobe. (c) The fridge provided a complimentary bottle of milk daily, seemingly for coffee. You could request more if needed. 2. Bathroom facilities The bathroom was fairly standard, nothing particularly special. However, it did have a shower screen for wet/dry separation, which kept the bathroom fresh. 3. Downsides The single bed wasn't properly fixed; any movement or sitting on it would cause the entire bed to shift. Overall, the location is still great. On this trip, I booked three hotels in different parts of the Free Tram Zone. In this area (the northern part), you can find many Asian restaurants and supermarkets, as well as the market. Due to heavy rain during our stay, we didn't venture further north to Melbourne University. Near there, you'll find the Old Melbourne Gaol and Lygon Street (Little Italy), which has many Italian restaurants that I’d highly recommend. Regarding hotel service: While the hotel offered a buffet, we didn't purchase it and opted to eat out. A minor regret is that the service here was just average. As it's an Ibis, part of a large hotel group, the prices are relatively affordable, and they handle a high volume of guests daily. Consequently, the staff's attitude felt rather indifferent during check-in or when storing our luggage. That pretty much sums it up; I'll leave the rest for others to experience."

"So close to everything! Absolutely amazing service by reception. I will 100% recommend to friends and family. Affordable and great service and really great spaces in the room. Only thing I’d nitpick is the shower pressure (and temperature - it’s hard sometimes to find the perfect temperature sometimes too hot sometimes too cold), and the bed frame was flimsy. But! If it’s a short stay and you want great service, convenient location and excellent space then this is the place to be!"

"At first, they gave me the room at the corner and which had high frequency noise from air conditioning. The front desk staff was very nice, he helped me to change another room at once. Even that the room was smaller than the old one, but brighter, feel more comfortable and more quiet. I can’t imagine if I need to sleep in the old room for 6 night. This hotel is very convenience which place at the free tr zone in the city centre."

"The location is genuinely great, right in Chinatown. Downstairs, you can find anything you want to eat. It's a perfect spot for Chinese tourists because you can get Chinese food anytime. If you need a convenience store, there's one right next door. You can also head to Chinatown for noodles in the morning. Across the street, there's a theater currently showing a Michael Jackson musical. You can check in online in advance; they'll send you an email. I checked in at the front desk, and the Indian guy was very friendly. They gave me a high-floor room. The room size isn't big, but it's just right for one or two people. The bed and pillows are comfortable, and it's very clean. However, there's no complimentary bottled water or slippers, which really surprised me. The bathroom also lacks a bath mat, so be careful when showering. Otherwise, everything else is pretty good. The gym isn't large, but the equipment is sufficient, with plenty of machines for compound training. I didn't opt for breakfast because there are so many food options downstairs, all within walking distance. The lobby bar on the ground floor is lively in the evenings. Overall, the price-performance ratio is excellent, but many things are minimalist, like the lack of slippers and water. The location is good, and the comfort level is adequate. So, if you prioritize price and location, this place is a solid choice."

"Nice modern hotel Disappointed with the customer service The checkin experience was robotic, unfriendly and did not show any interest, care or effort to deliver a welcome. The hotel itself is very nice, quality finishes and large rooms. The property has a dedicated service elevator however the housemaids use the guest elevator for transit between floors without any smile, hello or care towards guests. It's also obvious the damage to guest elevator from cleaning carts. Great views, It's a shame this beautiful property is let down by poor customer service and poor management oversight."

"Good location. Just in front of the tram stop Russel Street on Bourke. There's a Thai & Japanese Restaurant downstairs as well. Front desk is extremely helpful & jolly. Bed is just right. Room is clean. There's a hair dryer, iron, safe, but no toothbrush, I didn't ask, but maybe it's upon request. The good thing about Citadines on Bourke is they have a full kitchen with plates & silverware. We didn't use it, but having a microwave is definitely a plus. They didn't clean daily, but maybe you can ask. But it wasn't an issue for us. We didn't need it anyway. Overall it was a good place to stay in Melbourne, we feel it's very central and near good places to be at."

"The room comfortably accommodates 6 people with three double beds, and the bedding is very clean. Each floor has a desk with charging points. The WiFi speed is decent. Breakfast includes sandwiches, toast, milk, coffee, cereal, and unlimited drinks. There's also a gas stove, which is great if you like to cook your own meals, like boiling an egg. The living room on the first floor is spacious enough for dozens of people to have meetings or chats. A major plus is its 8-minute walk to Southern Cross Station, located right in the city center on King Street. **Environment:** Quiet, safe, and convenient. **Cleanliness:** The bathroom is very clean, gets daily cleaning, and has no unpleasant odors."

"Had really nice 3 night stay. Had a room with a great view and it was quiet as well, even over the weekend. It was a fantastic neighbourhood, chill vibes with many cafes and hipster shops around. It’s a great choice for those that have visited Melbourne previously (and stayed in CBD) and want a different experience. Loved my stay overall and will be back again! Only one thing was that the room had a damp smell. Might be because there is no cleaning service and the wet floor mats and towels contribute to the smell. Suggest the hotel to provide baskets outside / common area to deposit used towels and to get fresh ones daily."
