"## The Good: Hardware & Check-in Experience
**Room Upgrade & Early Check-in:** We arrived at the hotel around 12 PM, and the front desk kindly allowed us to check in early and even upgraded our room type for two nights free of charge. This was a great first impression and much appreciated.
**Cleanliness & Soundproofing:** The room itself was very clean, and the housekeeping staff were professional. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet night's sleep.
**Facility Details:** Initially, I found the pillows too flat. After I reported it, the staff promptly replaced them with latex pillows, which significantly improved my sleeping experience.
## The Disappointing: Communication & Process Management
While the hotel's hardware was up to par, there were serious flaws in their service processes and internal communication:
**Shuttle Service Was a Sham:** As a foreigner, to ensure a smooth journey, I had called ahead to book a pick-up service from the station. Since I only managed to get a Chinese SIM card upon arrival, I called back in the morning as agreed to provide my number so they could contact the driver. The result? When the scheduled time came, the driver had no idea about the booking, stating that the hotel hadn't informed him at all! Although we eventually got picked up, it was only thanks to the driver's kindness, who even proactively shared tips on local food and attractions in Suzhou. The hotel's negligence was simply speechless.
**Extremely Unprofessional Package Receiving Service:** When I inquired about receiving a package, the front desk not only gave me a vague address covering a large area but also failed to provide any details about its storage. This led to the package going missing after delivery, forcing me to contact the courier myself. When I asked the hotel for assistance in communicating with the courier (since the hotel's number was left as the contact), the front desk flat-out refused. This 'give an address, don't care about the aftermath' attitude is utterly irresponsible.
**Indifferent Front Desk Attitude:** There was no greeting or welcome upon entering. They watched us struggle with heavy luggage without offering any assistance whatsoever.
## The Most Serious Issue: Laundry Service & Integrity
This is the most unacceptable point for me. The Trip.com page clearly states 'laundry service,' but:
**Service Shirking:** When I asked the front desk, they insisted they only had 'self-service laundry.' It wasn't until I inquired about laundry tags that they admitted they did indeed have a laundry service.
**False Feedback:** I notified them about laundry in the morning and confirmed its status again in the afternoon. However, when I returned to my room in the evening, my clothes were still wet! What's even more outrageous is that the housekeeping staff had written 'washed and dried' on a note, but the clothes were completely undried. This happened more than once.
**Management Excuses:** The hotel explained the inadequate service by citing 'insufficient cleaning staff.' As a guest, I paid for the room, and understaffing is an operational issue for the hotel. It should not be an excuse for reduced service or, worse, deceiving guests. If they cannot provide the service, they should remove the laundry tags and update the service description on the platform."
