"Parking costs AUD 20 per night, but I wasn't told that I'd have to pay extra if I left and returned, which made me feel ripped off. I needed an HDMI cable for work to connect to the TV in my room, and it took a lot of negotiating with the front desk to get one. There was a lot of unnecessary hassle, and I wish borrowing basic amenities like this could be more streamlined. I stayed during the Christmas holiday, and it seems breakfast wasn't included, so I had to go out to eat. The bathroom in my room type only had a curtain, not a proper door. The windows looked quite dirty with a lot of dust outside. The pool had many leaves floating on the surface, and no one seemed to be cleaning it, so I didn't use it. I guess all these issues were probably due to a lack of staff during the holiday period."

"A standard Langham pink, this hotel is super girly! We arrived early for check-in and were able to use the 9th-floor spa center to freshen up. Our room overlooked the Yarra River, and the view from the window was incredibly soothing. The 9th-floor pool is also a sight to behold; even though it was winter when we visited, the pool was wonderfully warm and heated at night. Downstairs, there's a whole street of restaurants and bars in Southbank, making dining and drinks very convenient. There's a place called Waterfront that I think is highly rated nearby, and I tried it out – it was pretty good. The toiletries are Diptyque, and the hotel bedding is incredibly comfortable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience."

"The room was very spacious, and it was conveniently located near a park, a cheap supermarket, a Hungry Jack's, and a McDonald's. However, there was no elevator, so going up and down the stairs was a hassle, but overall it was a very good hotel."

"We had a little wait at check in, in a queue, when we arrived at 8pm. We then found the electronic pad for sign in was very greasy and the screen covered in fingerprints (and goodness knows what else) so did not feel comfortable having to use it for sign in. We were advised that we had booked a room with a rollaway but when we advised there was only the two of us we were informed we would be able to call reception on “9” to have it removed if we did in fact find it there on arriving to the room. We did find it set up and as it took up a fair bit of room we did as required to contact reception, however, after 10 minutes or so with the phone remaining unanswered we hung up and gave up. One of us then decided to have a warm bath while the other showered, however, the deep scum around the inside of the tub resulted in a change of plans! The bed was the most comfortable we encountered in our two week holiday, and we both slept extremely well. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. We would stay again but would hope the cleaning methods improved."

"The hotel's location is pretty good. The one-day tour I booked met right outside the Windsor Hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away. Both Red Apple and Green Apple supermarkets are within walking distance, and Chinatown isn't far either, making evenings very lively. The hotel facilities are admittedly a bit old, but the hygiene is decent. Breakfast is just okay, but it's filling, and surprisingly, they even offered congee. When checking out, since I paid a cash deposit, I had to wait a while for them to inspect the room before I could get my money back and leave. After the room check, I realized I'd left a piece of clothing in the room. The staff brought it down for me, neatly folded and presented it with both hands, which I really appreciated!"

"Not a bad stay at this hotel, which was conveniently located near Myers and the walking street. Its a good no frill hotel with a friendly help desk. The only issue we had was finding a place for our car for parking nearby. We could only parking at Docklands as it had cheaper daily rates. The views of the Yarra river and the public library were amazing!"

"I went there for the hotel's long history after reading the introduction. The breakfast in this hotel is quite good, and the breakfast room is also quite nice. But the room was unexpectedly old, and there were several steps at the door. I almost fell on the first day. It might be that the room type was not good. We stayed in the room next to the elevator. The sofa bed was also very uncomfortable. There was no view. The window facing the next building and the trash can behind it were very close."

Welcome to timeless elegance in the heart of Melbourne. Located on prestigious Collins Street, the InterContinental Melbourne the Rialto is an icon of glamour, grandeur and grace. Our glass atrium, ornate windows and original brickwork showcase 1890s neo-Gothic architecture while our elegant interiors weave a tapestry of contemporary elegance. Take a dip in our heated rooftop pool or dine at one of our three exquisite restaurants and bar.

"I booked this hotel during a Ctrip promotion, and honestly, the price was a steal at 1000/night. First, the pros: Location: It's right in the city center, first ring, free zone. You can take the tram for a free city walk. If you're on a day tour, the bus pick-up point is just a two-minute walk away. The front desk staff, Holy, and the senior gentleman from concierge were both very nice. Now, for the cons: The coffee spoon wasn't clean, it was dirty. The minibar fridge had cooling issues; the bottom was full of water. These, I could overlook. However, and seriously, as a Hyatt Globalist, I rarely stay at InterContinental, and I have never, in all my previous experiences, encountered an unlocked room door. I left my room early Friday morning for a day tour and returned at 9:30 PM to find my room door unlocked, just as pictured. I was shocked. The next day, I spoke to the duty manager, and they checked the surveillance footage, confirming that no one had entered my room. But my stay experience was truly poor. Such carelessness, forgetting to lock the guest's door after cleaning. Plus, this hotel's elevators don't require a room card swipe. At 9:30 PM, both the front desk and concierge were empty, making it easy for anyone to access any floor. I somewhat regret not spending a bit more to stay at the Grand Hyatt. Also, I heard this hotel is rebranding to Regent, oh my! InterContinental truly feels like a makeshift operation. To think they dare to rebrand to Regent like this! This hotel usually sells at the same price as the Grand Hyatt, and if it weren't for this promotion, I definitely wouldn't have chosen it. InterContinental left such a terrible impression on me; it's really hard not to come here and complain."
